TravelRe: Pandemonium At Lagos Airport As Customs, Agents Clash by r231(op): 2:41pm On Dec 22, 2014
The Federal Government, Friday, suspended all cargo flights from other countries from operating into the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

Disclosing this development to newsmen, General Manager Corporate Communications, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mr. Yakubu Dati said that the suspension of cargo aircraft into the country was necessary because of the congestion at the warehouses.

Mr. Dati further pointed out that the Nigerian Airspace Manager Agency had been notified to issue a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) informing them about the development.

He said, “This has become imperative due to the congestion created by the backlog of cargo created following the two-week closure of the terminal by the Nigerian Customs Service”

The FAAN GM further noted that the agency was initiating possible measure to accelerate the clearance of the goods and return the situation to normalcy.

He however advised airlines and importers to make use of alternative airport as such move would ease the congestion of goods at the Lagos airport.

According to him, the authority was constrained to take such measure for the time being for the safety and security of all concerned.

Please was wondering, I'm I the only person with shipment on 1467? Nobody wants to talk about it here and its been several weeks I heard that its clearing but whenever I ring the Lagos office they tell me that agents are still looking for it.

So now my worry is, has my shipment gone missing?
what will be the fate of my shipment since your still looking for it till date and hope to close for the year before Dec24th.

No offence
You saw the pics I posted on the previous page sir....

Agents are not allowed to go on the termac no more so we have to wait till they get to us sir

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do but be patient

Dangote's daughter cheated on me and you say I should break up? Don't you know that Love is all about forgiveness.

How can a pastor be preaching about charity and put a password on Church WIFI?

A boy I beat up back then in primary school is now in the US Army. He poses with guns on Facebook, and looks like he hasn't forgotten.

When you are kissing your girlfriend and you see the person owing you money, what will you do?

When you see a Nigerian couple outside staring at the moon, It's either NEPA (Nigeria's Electricity company) took the light or they are waiting for the smell of the insecticide to subside.

I just saw a Tricycle (Keke Napep) with an inscription "Trust No woman" I have a feeling that guy once had a range rover.

If you want to change the world, do it now that you are still single, because when you get married, you can't even change the T.V station.

Enjoy your evening y'all grin

Oh my God! this diagnosis is really upsetting. For me I suggest we arrange all the test results and send to India so we can get a likely estimate for treatment. I would insist on HCG hospital Bangalore India. It is a cancer specialty center well known and highly recommended. I know someone with cancer of the blood- I think they call it Leukemia, after spending over 4million at National hospital Abuja, the guy was getting worse and dieing. He was then flown to India. At HCG he was charged just about 3 Million naira. He was treated with the latest state of the art machines. He came back to Nigeria well and did his wedding. Also that's where Dora Akunyili was taken to. unfortunately she went very late. But for someone of that calibre to go there you should know it is a highly recommended hospital.
Secondly I am highly against getting cancer treatment in Nigeria. All they give is their chemo that can even kill. Even when they are lucky for it to work, in a short time it reoccurs and kills them.Never will I advice anyone. People who have relatives or friends who have cancer will never advice that. If worse come to worst, UCH is better but India is best.
From what I have seen and observed cancer treatment in Nigeria is a no no no!
Do you have their contact sir

Update 20th December ‎

First and foremost we would like to thank each and everyone for the concern shown in the past few days. We understand and appreciate the interest shown in the getting of DJ back to his feet and appreciate this as we all have equal stake in it.

We have listened and will continue to listen as success to us is seeing him pain free.

Having said the above, DJ has had to check himself back into the hospital this morning as he felt a bit of discomfort over the night.

Our field worker was able to meet with him at the hospital and spoke to the doctor.

The results from th‎e cytology and the CT scan has been examined and they have referred him to an oncologist.

They said we have two choices in this case, we either use the teaching hospital (in which case he will have to wait until they end their strike) or we use Lakeshore Cancer Center(LCC) in VI.

Upon this we took the results to LCC to make enquiries

‎These are the results of our enquiries at LCCs

• Their oncologist is not around and wont be around until Monday so we have booked an appointment for noon on Monday which we will have to bring Hamed ‎ along

• we have dropped the test results and our details  and they said they will call u‎s later to confirm our appointment.

• They are majorly an out patient facility and so they do not admit except in cases where the patient needs chemo

• They charge 10k for registration and 60k for consultation and palliatives.

PS: The figures below is an high level breakdown of expenditure and balance at hand.

Naira Account:
Total Donation =2,711,628
Total Spent =960,000
Balance =1,751,628

Paypal Account:£1110 + $929
Balance=

‎We have been requesting for steer and direction on this case but only the following have been gotten so far

1. Ask the doctors for the probability of a cancer diagnosis . This is done now.

2. Open a new thread to get a doctor who can support the team. This will be done soon

The following are the key issues again

1. Since the consensus on the forum is that the first hospital is not satisfactory, we need a place where he can be stabilized pending when he can be flown abroad for treatment

2. Should we start treatment at the LCC

 3. Funds are needed for this venture either at LCC or abroad

Your steer is needed.

While I dont support the disclosure of sensitive details here where the patient may have alresdy read it, it helps to put things into proper perspective. I suggest the disclosures by babyosisi and the quoted ones is hidden.
I must say I'm a bit dissapointed with the way some of the members of Tehn that i have great respect for carried on.
Apparently dr babyosisi was carried along and she had already spelt out un clear terms and laid emphasis on the fear that it was a cancer and her fears of the suspected stage. I dont know what any doctor would do beyond the suggestions and observations she gave. Still repeatedly requesting for doctor on ground and asking for steer on the forum suggests playing to gallery and making it seem the kind lady hasnt given meaningful contributions.
From her mails, its obvious she laid emphasis in checking for cancer with urgency.
Even busybody said so and I remember her quoting me and expressing her fears about the ascites and being endstage and gor the source for malignancy to be addressed. So they obviously are of the opinion that the bastards doctors should have been testing for the source if cancer so long ago. its that obvious even to a layman like me that the next step should be strictly testing for cancerous cell while treating any arising complications.
Now I understand the reason for the frustration of these ladies. Theyve already communicated their fears in not so little words.
At this stage, I think taking hamed to india already is the next stage. precious time needed to address a potentially critical ailment is deliberately wasted on multiple tests.
two sides to a coin sir/ma

@r231 pls how far with manifest 1466?
Dear Valued Customer,

We would like to apologize for the delay in clearing Manifest 1466, this is
due to the new rules and regulations been applied by Nigeria customs.
Before the new rule came into effect, clearing agents were usually allow to
go into the cargo shed to identify their shipment but now they have to wait
for the customs and Nacho shed staff to identify for them before they can
start clearing. Due to the back-log they had this is taking some time.

As soon as this shipment has been identify and release to our agent, we
will try our best to get it out as soon as possible. Once again we are
truly sorry for the delay.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Best regards,
