As per our telcon, please be advised that Duty has been increased And and is
to take effect immediately on all freight on hand in Lagos and for future
Shipments.

Please also be aware, that demurrage might also be charged by The Customs

Regrettably, there is nothing we can do as Customs are in control.

Dear House,

Once again we thank you for all the support extended to Djdola and your trust in TEHN to help coordinate our approach to getting DJ bck to his feet.

The last few weeks have involved a series of diagnostic tests across various hospitals and laboratories in order to ascertain what exactly is wrong with DJ before deciding on an appropriate method of approach for his full recovery

Please find the list of tests and the dates they were held

Date: Test Type

17/11/ 2014 : Abdominopelvic ultrascan

17/11/ 2014 : Protein electrophoresis

27/11/2014 : Lupus screen

27/11/2014 : Serum astatic Albumin

27/11/2014 : Gradient cholesterol

27/11/2014 : Glucose and amylase

01/12/2014 : CT scan

05/12/2014 : Colonoscopy

02/12/2014 : Ultra scan

The following is a list of observations made by the consultants thus far as a result of various tests listed above

From the first set of tests (abdominipelvic ultra scan and protein electrophoresis) he was diagnosed with stage one renal disease which he has been treated for.

He was also simultaneously treated for a suspected Liver abscess which was supposed to take place for 7days before a biopsy was called for. It was when he was drained and examined in preparation for the biopsy that the clinical diagnosis changed to intra abdominal mass which he had a colonoscopy, CT scan and an ultra scab.

He is currently being prepared for a laparoscopy as at this update.

The challenges so far have been numerous and the pressing among them are as follows:

1. The absence of a teaching hospital due to the protracted strike and its assorted team of specialists which may have helped to arrive at a quick diagnosis

2. A growing suspicion that the hospitals may be embarking on tests just to make revenue

3. There is also the possibility that the hospitals here may not be able to give provide a definitive diagnosis which can/would lead to wastage of valuable time and scarce resources

We need your steer on the way forward on this case

Find attached receipts of tests done so far

UPDATE!!!!

Hello all, Hamed was supposed to have a biopsy done last monday but it could not have been done before the fluid which has accumulated in him was drained.

After draining, it was discovered (through both physical and scans) that there was a tender mass across his transverse colon which prompted a colonoscopy.

The colonoscopy was not helpful as it just indicated a slight narrowing of the transverse colon, this leads to suspicion that the mass is actually on the surface of the transverse colon hence a laparoscopy is being scheduled for this week.

The biopsy has been called off(for now) as his liver seems to be okay. We urge you to keep praying for Hamed though.

Thanks for your support.

TeHN.

I've been following up on Hammed's case and after reading the latest update, I couldn't hold back my emotions. To see what we can achieve when we are united without allowing race or religion get in the way is overwhelming.

From the first day I came across his case I have always put him in my daily prayer and also given my widow's mite. While am so happy for him, yet I am battling with my faith. My wife was diagnosed with a terminal disease last year and I've prayed all I can yet God somehow hasn't responded or maybe isn't ready for my case yet. It kills me watching her life sliping away each morning.

I don't need financial help. The only help I need is intercession. I can hardly pray or confidently believe His promises yet somehow, I know Djdola's improvement can only be a divine intervention.

Please help me ask God/Allah to intervene in my wife's case.
It is well with her.

God is in control!

I'm really trying to be patient dear BUT for how long can this patience last? Stuff that was scheduled to leave US on the 5th or at most 8th of November 2014 did not leave until 14th or 15th of November 2014 too much conflicting dates of departures.

Ok ....finally got the SMS to make payment which I did, followed up with calls for the lady there to confirm my payment no way according to her "until the goods arrive at the Lagos warehouse". Imagine in this time and age of real-time payments angry until I got wind of this issue.

Now tell me, as a customer, is it my duty to follow up on issues such as this or the person offering the service updates me the customer? If not for my following this thread I never would have been notified by my shippers.

I exercised patience all through the unfolding events, I never called or emailed my shipper until two days ago and believe me .....I'm yet to get a feedback or response from them to my email angry you now see why I say this thing is just a typical Nigerian way of handling things?

Right now I'm online battling another shipper to update my received items to enable me ship out on time and hopefully take delivery before the break ....dem de post me left and right.

We can be a truly great country if only we can set our ways of doing things right.

I would wonder what the Customs are doing if right now as I type they are not at the sheds clearing the backlogs their foolishness caused, they can as well run shifts rather than sit all day and all night on Badagry express road disturbing travelers and extorting N500.00 grin

Believe me ....I just taya for this country o! Na we de take our hands destroy destiny.
Ermm. Are we talking about my company here? I mean the chasing up on payment part

This is what I'm complaining about. I have two shippers yet NONE has deemed it fit to send me and their other customers any email notification assuring us all not only about the safety of the packages but also if they've started clearing precisely.

We all prayed for this thing to be over but when you don't carry along the customers then its very bad.

To all shippers & agents here ...please and please let us your customers know what is happening. Most of us may not be around to spend the Christmas break here in Lagos so not telling us the true position of things affects our ability to plan and also it will impact on our doing business with you all in the future if you disappoint us all on our Christmas deliveries to our clients.
But you know the true position of things and also you know those shipments are not going to come out overnight as they have just opened.

Please be patient

What clearing stage was it in before the lock down? Is it on the tarmac or in the shed?

Also what level of protection from the weather and pilfering did your company instill on the shipments? Thanks
You will get an email from later today.

ZACHIE:
Well chargeable weight is different from actual weight and in airfreighting, the airline will choose whichever is higher.
This apply even in Tibet, so going to Ghana will not change anything, Sister.

There are 2 applications to this: an import of say empty Suitcases will occupy space but will be light.
The chargeable weight will be the dimensional area mass occupied by the suitcase and not its actual or scale weight.

The other one is a little technical and it is used only for paying freights
Thanks!!

What is up with 1465.?

How soon can it be cleared since the ports are now open.
Dear Valued Customer,

This is to inform you that the strike has been called off in Nigeria, but clearing has not yet commence due to the fact that the customs are demanding a whole lot of money on demurrage from the Agents. We are told that the clearing Agent and the customs are meeting today as soon as this issue is resolved clearing will commence.

Please note, there might be a delay in clearing due to the back-log. Attached are the pictures of how the terminal looks like because of the strike.

We appreciate your patience on this matter and we promise that as soon as the whole issue is been resolved, we will try and hasten the clearing as possible.

UPDATE!!!!

Due to the fluid accumulation in Hamed, he had to be drained and after draining him, from physical examination his liver was found to be okay and might not need a biopsy so CT scan and an Ultra sound scan was done between Monday and today.

These results and also results for the blood work showed his liver is okay and hence the biopsy will not be necessary.

However, a growth is still present in his abdomen so an endoscopy will have to be done on him so as to be sure what exactly is causing the growth inside him and hence solutions can be proffered.

This will be done on Friday and Monday (From different directions).

UPDATE!!!

We did not mean to keep you in the dark but there has not been a lot of new updates on this case.

As you are all aware, Hamed was scheduled to have a biopsy done on his liver to really ascertain what is wrong as the antibiotic treatment has not achieved the desired result.

He is still being prepared for the biopsy and hopefully he will have it on Monday.

On Thursday, he had the following tests
•Serum asatic Albumin
•Gradient
•Cholesterol, Glucose, Amylase and Cytology
All in a bid to really find out why his liver is not functioning properly.

We are pleased to say that his kidneys are okay as there is no need for any more dialysis, he is still adding weight, he is stable and has improved considerably.

We hope that when we have the results of the Biopsy and the other tests, we will know what exactly is wrong.

Thank you @ ZACHIE, you are truly on ground as per airport matters. Let them continue listening to someone in the UK while we. that are on. ground in the airport are being called harbingers of bad news because we are tellinng the truth.

As I am posting Olarenwaju who will open the airport is. not even in the office.
The current bennch mark is 50 thousand but Olanrewaju is trying to jerk it up to 100 thousand.

NAGAFF to open customms airport. I laugh. in clearing agent language. .
I am only going by the email sent to me by my agent do please stop acting as if I am in a completion with you........I have shipment worth million from UK and USA sitting out there so the only person I can go to is my agent. Read the thread again I don't think I have mentioned that I work at the airport or claimed o be an agent....

Get your facts right sir.
