I have a thousand and one things to say but will just restrict myself to posting what #mskemi wrote on her blog...here it is ![]() Linda Ikeji is a popular blogger in the Nigerian entertainment scene. I never met her till I spotted her walk past the red carpet at Darey's LLAM show. She did not stop to talk to any media outlet. Many of you began attacking me because I asked on twitter "Who is Linda Ikeji as in making me famous. She can make ppl famous in Nigeria but I'm a top blogger myself in US and Canada?" Some of you heard what I said about her on Splash 105.5FM Ibadan last week during my interview on Bullseye with Nike Adewuyi. I kept it real. I clearly told Nike that Linda did NOT make me famous in any way. She writes the same story everyone floods the Internet with. By now you should have noticed that she is not the only blogger writing about me. But to read people asking me if I really know who she is and cursing me all along, maybe I should wake up the sleeping dogs. Linda blogged one particular story about me when I said there is no poverty in Nigeria, she specifically said she did not know who I was. She may not know me personally but she knows the name back in 2006. Linda Ikeji is also a home wrecker! On the woman who"stole" my junior cousin's then fiance Dan Foster formerly of Cool FM a month before their wedding. Deola Olunloyo ended the relationship with Dan Foster and my dad and other family members had to cancel a lot of expensive wedding expenditure. After Deola moved on, she continued her work as an internationally recognized Journalist expertise in HIV education. Linda went ahead and dated Dan and was later dumped. She spoke about how miserable she was to the Punch newspapers. You cannot be happy when you wreck someone else's home. Inset: Linda, Dan Foster, Dan and Lovina Foster, Linda's tweet last nite and my baby cousin Adeola Olunloyo Sources from Dan's camp told me that he regretted his actions and has moved on. Dan went ahead and married his current wife Lovina and they have 3 lovely children. He now works at Inspiration FM. What Linda did is not new. I responded to her in a 2006 issue of Global Excellence magazine that home wrecking was not a kind thing. Dan was considered a weak man to me. If he had even asked for his fiance's forgiveness is one thing but to now turn around and openly date Linda was another. Many of you do not know these FACTUAL stories. recently I was told by other sources in the shady Nigerian blogging industry that she was responsible for the break up of Nigerian Rapper Ikechukwu and his girlfriend allegedly accusing the girl of sleeping with D'Banj, something I did not get into. Like I said on the radio yesterday, Linda is making money building her brand and I am doing the same. She initiated a convo with Kola Boof and I not aware that I know Kola as American blogger Sandra Rose's frenemy. Kola realized that later and had no idea she was talking to me on twitter (that Kemi) while Linda thought she was blogging a twitter beef. As a result, Kola blocked her tweets and protected them from Linda and several Nigerians. She has never in anyway made me famous. My deportation from Canada made me famous and the works I did abroad in ending gun violence and drug abuse. Pls put your money where your mouth is. This is an advice for Linda's fan. I am a professional blogger since 1999 and a Journalist. Even Perez Hilton makes $67Million a year and far more than us and does not play these antics. All the Top Bloggers in America looked up to me as a role model from their humble beginnings and I respected them too. From Soul Train and BET award winning ones to just plain high traffic ones. Blogging is about writing original stories on a WEBLOG. I started in 1999 when the Pyra template was used before Google bought it and renamed it blogger http://blogsinbrief..com/2013/04/why-kemi-omololu-olunloyo-madamgovernor.html |

New update from the church Founder of Overcomers Church, Bishop Moses has addressed the Solomon Akiyesi's wedding scandal. Watch video above then see an updated statement from the church after the cut... This is a follow up to our statement from Saturday, April 13, following the disrupted wedding of Mr. Solomon Akiyesi to Ms. Uloma Agwu. In light of the media mayhem that has erupted with tabloids spinning their own version of events, we find it necessary to make a final statement on the matter and hope that listening ears and hearts will understand the decisions we have made as a church. Let’s start by addressing some of the rumours that have been perpetuated on several gossip blogs and tabloids. Mr. Akiyesi is not a member of the Overcomers Church World Outreach. We heard no word of an existing marriage to Mrs. Lilian Akiyesi. Many have pointed out that perhaps the Overcomers Church failed to do its due diligence in investigating Mr. Akiyesi thoroughly. We concede the point and will ensure that our Marriage Committee is equipped with a travel fund that will allow travel to visit with family members of engaged couples and ensure both the prospective brides and grooms are in fact who they say they are. Ms. Uloma Agwu is a staunch member of the Overcomers Church. We regret that she was deceived by Mr. Akiyesi who lied, not only to her, but her family and Church as well. There is however no dishonesty on her part. She was unaware that a Mrs. Akiyesi already existed. Furthermore, Ms. Agwu is not pregnant, as published by tabloids. That is a vicious lie that we hope to clear up. No semblance of a wedding between her and Mr. Akiyesi took place at the Overcomers Church on Saturday. No vows were said, no rings exchanged and no marriage certificate handed out and the Church has NO INTENTION of endorsing such a union. We respect the sanctity of Marriage at the Overcomers Church and will continue to uphold what is right and virtuous about the institution of marriage. We do not endorse divorce and work instead to counsel troubled marriages and build stronger unions. Those who know us, know that. Which brings us to the final misconception. The Overcomers Church does not fault Mrs. Lilian Akiyesi’s right to put a stop to a marriage that is not permissible in the eyes of the law and of God. As a matter of fact, we thank her for doing so and saving our sister, Ms. Agwu, from what would have been a disastrous union. What we DO NOT endorse and will not stand for as a church is a group of people bringing a fight into the House of God. We will protect and defend our house of worship. We learned that Mrs Akiyesi had arranged for police personnel days before the wedding and was already present at the Church hours before the wedding ceremony started. The right thing here would have been to alert church officials and present her case in a manner befitting a house of worship. The wedding would not have taken place, and Mr. Akiyesi and his wife would have been sent along to sort out their lives together; which is what we have done now. We strongly disapprove of the way Mrs. Akiyesi and her family and friends handled the matter. It brought shame to this house of worship. We also strongly abhor the actions Mr. Akiyesi, as well. His deception brought shame and disgrace, not only to the house of God, but also to his wife and Ms. Uloma Agwu. Let us state in no uncertain terms, the relationship between Ms. Agwu and Mr. Akiyesi was dissolved yesterday afternoon after all the facts were brought to light. We stand by our decision to pray for Mr. Akiyesi and Ms. Agwu following the ugly incident. No matter the wrongdoing, we commit all things into the hands of God, the ultimate judge. We will continue to support Ms. Agwu and pray for peace for all parties involved. We pray that God reaches into every heart and brings healing, so we can all move in our spiritual walk. Thanks and have a blessed week! Chika Moses Media Representative Overcomers Church World Outreach Free News always on my blog |
An engaged couple will become Britain's first double sex-change husband and wife when they get married later this year. Helen Morfitt, 56, started life as Leslie, and is due to marry Felix Laws, 46, formerly Katy, in September. Between them, the couple has already been married four times, and Helen has eight children and Felix two from their previous relationships. They will officially change their gender on their birth certificates, allowing them to get married, with a date set for 13 September, the date both had their sex change operations, albeit seven years apart. Helen told the Daily Mirror: "We've been through a lot over the years and had tough times transitioning from one sex to another, but we've now found each other and that's all that matters. "I've been married three times before but this time I know it's for real because I know I'm the right sex this time." Felix added: "We're just like any other couple - including in the bedroom. Neither of us has any complaints on that score." The couple met in 2008, when Felix visited a doctor about the possibility of having a sex change operation. The doctor referred him to a transgender support group run by Helen. "As a child my friends were playing with dolls and prams but I wanted to climb trees, play football and get muddy," said Felix. "Even sitting down to go to the toilet felt wrong. But it was the 1970s and you didn't have those kind of thoughts back then." He got married as Katy at 21 and soon had two children. "After I exchanged vows with my husband and went up to our room I knew I'd made the biggest mistake of my life. "Just because I was transgender didn't mean I didn't want what everyone else had - a loving family. "When I held my children in my arms for the first time I felt like any other mother would about their baby." After 13 years, Felix left the marriage and the children. "I didn't have a choice. The urge to become a man was growing stronger. "My husband was given custody of the children and it broke my heart but I couldn't keep playing happy families," he said. Helen married three times as Leslie. She said: "My wives had wanted children and I did too. In some ways I was trying to prove my masculinity, trying to deny who I really was - a woman in a man's body. "I loved my wives, in fact I'm still friends with two of them. But I couldn't love them in the right way. I was trying to repress my real feelings and coped by cross dressing in secret." Both said that one of the most difficult parts of the process was telling their families of their decision to change sex. "I told my two youngest, who were only five and six, that I was very poorly and the only way I could get better was to become a girl. They accepted it easily," said Helen. "The six-year-old said it would be a bit silly to call me Daddy and started calling me Helen. "My two girls and four other boys came round to the idea slowly and I regularly see most of them now." Felix recalls telling his 16-year-old son: "He asked me if I was a tomboy. He told me he'd watched documentaries about transpeople. "He then asked me if that's the way I felt. I was gobsmacked that he was so intuitive. We've had an incredible relationship ever since." For the Gretna Green ceremony, Felix will be swapping the flowing white dress of his first marriage for a kilt, and Helen will wear the black gothic dress she dreamt of when younger. https://i1.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article1827834.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/Sex-swap-story-Helen-and-Felix.jpg http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/456780/20130413/trangender-marriage-felix-laws-helen-morfitt.htm http://blogsinbrief..com/2013/04/man-who-was-woman-marries-woman-who-was.html |

Uganda is proposing a new law that could lead to arrests for those wearing skirts above the knee, reports the Daily Mail. The proposed bill would also extend to movies, TV programs and personal internet use which would be closely monitored by state officials. Simon Lokodo, Uganda’s Ethics and Integrity minister, stands staunchly by the proposed plans, which also include banning the likes of Beyoncé and Madonna from television. The government considers pornography an “insidious social problem.” “We are saying anything that exposes private parts of the human body is pornography and anything obscene will be outlawed. Television should not broadcast a sexy person. Certain intimate parts of the body cannot be opened except for a spouse in a private place. A lot of photos, television, films will be outlawed. Even on the internet, we’re going to put a monitoring system (in place) so we know who has watched which website and we know who has watched pornographic material,” Lokodo contends. Lokodo, a former Catholic priest who was stripped of his priestly privileges and functions due to his political ideologies, is actively seeking to stamp out pornography in his country and is sure that the bill will pass according to Uganda’s Daily Monitor newspaper. But the bill has actually run into difficulty in the parliamentary committee stage after some members expressed concern about its implications for constitutional freedoms. Some members of the country’s Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee have pointed out that some of Uganda’s traditional customs might also be considered pornographic. The committee members asked that the government stop curtailing freedoms because it risks hurting tourism. In its current form, it is proposed that those found guilty of abetting pornography face a fine of Shs10 million ($2,500 U.S. dollars). While many argue that existing laws surrounding pornography already outlaw the practice in Uganda, Lokodo claims the laws only cover the publication of racy material. http://blogsinbrief..com/2013/04/ugandan-bill-proposes-to-ban-everything.html |

Overcomers Church Responds To Failed Marriage Attempt By Actor Solomon Akiyesi What was meant to be a day of celebration – the wedding ceremony of one of our members Uloma Agwu to Mr. Solomon Akiyesi at the Overcomers Church World Outreach in Aguda – was sullied by an ugly incident. Immediately following the praise and worship session and before the officiating commenced, a woman who claims to be the lawful wife of the groom disrupted the ceremony. She was accompanied by people who sought only to wreck havoc in the church. They were unruly and violent. We regret the ugly series of events that followed this brash display. At the Overcomers Church, we do our due diligence to ensure a couple set to wed is right in the eyes of the law and in the eyes of God. To the best of our knowledge, Mr. Akiyesi, was unmarried. The Overcomers Church World Outreach regrets that the woman who disrupted the wedding chose such a time to do so. There is no ideal situation here, but it would have been right that she bring the case before church officials in a manner befitting a house of worship. This was not the case. The groom, Mr. Akiyesi, has apologized to the Church, his bride-to-be, Ms. Agwu, and family and friends that gathered for the wedding. “This happened because I tried to cut corners,” he said. He admits he did not properly dissolve his previous marriage to his first wife and says he is determined to do what is necessary to rectify the awful situation. We apologize for the ugly scene this caused at our Church and apologize to those who witnessed it. It is not exemplary behavior and not who we are as a Church. The General Overseer of the Overcomers Church World Outreach, Bishop N.E. Moses, addressed the congregation after order was restored. Bishop Moses prayed for the couple, Mr. Akiyesi and Ms. Agwu, but he did not legally wed them –no documents were signed so as not to disobey the law. Mr. Solomon Akiyesi and Ms Uloma Agwu will not be legally joined together until the matter is properly settled by lawful authorities. Our Bishop has urged us to take a lesson from this and be careful of the decisions we make in life, so the consequences don’t hurt us in the future. It is a lesson we take well. We stand by Ms. Agwu. She has been a dedicated member of the church and we will continue to support her and Mr. Akiyesi. It is our hope and prayer that in all of this, God is glorified and His house of worship above reproach. Almost one year after Miss Cynthia Osokogu, was killed by friends she met on a social network, Facebook, her family still remembers everything about the care and love they once cherished. Her father, Gen. Frank Osokogu, (retd.) as a soldier is not one given to emotions, but he could not but speak fondly of his only beloved daughter who was snatched away from him in the most brutal manner. When our correspondent called at the home of the Osokogus penultimate Monday, in Jos, Plateau State, Cynthia’s parents were not at home our correspondent was at a loss how to speak to Osokogu on phone and what his reaction would be, knowing that it could amount to reopening old wounds. He picked the phone on the first dial and having known who the caller was, said, “Oh yeah, I remember you. You spoke to me when the incident happened.” One would have thought that he would cut the conversation at that stage, but when asked how he felt the prosecution against the suspect was going. He was frank as his name suggests. “Well I am not a lawyer, but I feel that the case is going on fine even though there was a little hiccup at the beginning. Initially it was being prosecuted at the Magistrates’ Court and there was a little delay, especially in putting up the papers, gathering all the evidence, but when case was taken to the high court, there was a change. “However, when the case was first mentioned at the high court, the judges had a conference shortly after. And there was a slight delay. All I will say is that it is at the disposition of the court. That is not my responsibility. We have done the best we can. “The other ones are judicial process which you cannot force. Most judges adjourn for sometimes more than one month. Don’t forget that murder cases sometimes take a long time to resolve. Even civil matters sometimes take up to three four years to resolve. When you talk of representation, I think the case is being taken at the highest level. Now it’s being handled by the Attorney General of Lagos state. “My family has two lawyers and the police also have their own lawyers. I am sure that now that it has gone to the appropriate court, the trial is going to be faster. I don’t know, I am not a lawyer, I will ask my lawyers again. May be when they see your publication, they may equally react to it.” However getting the retired general to talk about his daughter was not easy. When asked what he missed most about his daughter, especially given the circumstances under which he died, he said, “Well these are sentimental questions and I don’t usually discuss sentiments. But definitely she was my daughter, and so I miss everything, everything about my daughter, especially the circumstances the whole thing happened. But we have had problems, especially in winding up the business she was running before she died. But that is okay and that’s all I want to say for now.” If the retired general was a bit keen to talk about his late daughter, his wife was clearly reticent. When our reporter called her up for an interview, she blurted, “Please if it is about Cynthia, I don’t want to say anything. I have said enough and I don’t want to say anything about her please. Thank you.” Cynthia was murdered on July 22, 2012 by friends who allegedly lured her to Lagos from Nasarawa State where she was undergoing a Masters degree programme and killed her at Cosmilla Hotel, Lakeview Estate, FESTAC Town, Lagos Hotel. Four men, Okwumo Nwabufo, 33; Olisaeloka Ezike, 23, Orji Osita, 33; and Nonso Ezike, are standing trial over the incident. Nwabufo and Ezike are facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder and murder of Cynthia. Osita, who is the pharmacist, is charged with selling Rohypnol Flunitrazepan tablets to drug the deceased while Nonso, who is Olisaeloka’s brother, is charged with being in possession Cynthia’s Blackberry Bold 5 cell-phone. Culled from Punch RIP Cynthia ![]() |
