PoliticsMy Offence Is I Refused To Share Money With People That Brought Me To Pow by rahl12(op): 10:10pm On Jul 20, 2019
For months, the fight between APC Chieftains in Edo state has been on headlines and Governor Obaseki is finally speaking up over it.

The Edo State Governor while hosting members of the Benin Community resident in the Federal Capital Territory at Edo State Lodge, Abuja, on Friday, hinged the crisis rocking the state’s house of assembly on his refusal to share public funds with private individuals who claimed they brought him into power.

He further lamented that he has not been allowed to function as a Governor since elected, as decisions are taken on his behalf without notifying him.

He said “I have endured so much as a Governor. As a governor have not been able to even nominate somebody for a federal appointment and meanwhile federal appointment are made every day.

WHY RECRUITERS REJECT CANDIDATES CVs

You’ve spent hours writing the perfect CV, and now you’re ready to hit the job market.
You’ve spotted plenty of suitable jobs online and begin applying for them all with keen enthusiasm.

But that enthusiasm slowly turns to frustration, when weeks have passed, and you still haven’t had any positive responses. This experience is quite common among job seekers and can be hugely disheartening, but you shouldn’t let it beat you.

If you can identify the reasons why your applications are been ignored; you can tackle your weaknesses and turn your job hunt around quite quickly.

Take a look at these common job-hunting mistakes and learn the steps you can take to improve your CV and job hunting approach, to start landing interviews in your field.

(A). YOUR INTRODUCTION IS POOR.
Although it may have been said a thousand times, a poor cover letter will damage your job application in a big way.

Whether you are sending an email or using a job website messaging system, you need to write a cover letter that persuades the recipient to open your CV, or your application will fall at the first hurdle.
Be personable – Address the recruiter by name if you can find it, and write in a friendly tone to start the relationship off on the right foot.
Sum up your suitability – Read the job advert fully and use your cover letter to summarise exactly why you are a good fit for the job, by highlighting your most relevant skills and experience. If you can prove your suitability for the job, recruiters will be keen to open your CV.
Keep it brief – Most recruiters will receive hundreds of applications for their vacancies, so they don’t usually want to wade through a whole A4 page cover letter. A short and sharp paragraph of about two or three sentences should be enough to get your point across.
Sign off – Include a signature at the bottom of your message with your name and contact details, especially when emailing. It makes you appear that little bit more professional and ensures that the recruiter knows how to get in touch with you.

Taking a bit of time to craft a suitable introduction should increase the likelihood of your CV being opened and therefore give you a much greater chance of landing job interviews.

(B). YOU’RE NOT TAILORING YOUR CV.
Although your CV is probably tailored generally towards the overall type of role you are applying for; you can tailor your CV a little bit more for each job application to ensure that you are highlighting exactly the right skills each time.

Each job you apply for will usually have unique requirements, so it pays to tweak your CV accordingly for each application.
Before you apply for a job; read the advert and cross-check it against your CV, looking for the following things.

1. Requirements on the job advert that you possess, but have not included on your CV at all.
2. Requirements on the job advert that you possess but are not prominent on your CV (maybe skills that are not mentioned much or experience that is hidden at the bottom of your CV)
3. Before you apply for that particular job; take the missing or hidden skills, and highlight them at the top of your CV.
Now when the recruiter opens your CV about that vacancy, you will instantly look like a good match for the role and create a great first impression. If you tailor your CV for every application you make, you will surely see a rise in responses from recruiters.

(C) YOUR CV IS POORLY STRUCTURED.
If you want to ensure that recruiters can quickly see the value in hiring you, you must structure your CV in a way that is easy to navigate and read.

If you don’t plan the layout of your CV properly, then you could end up with a messy, un-professional looking CV that will put recruiters off and fail to sell your important talents.

Use a simple, clean font that is easy to read and divide your CV sections clearly with bold headings. Break text up into manageable bite-size sections, such as bullet points and short paragraphs, to ensure that employers can digest the information quickly and easily.

The easier you make it for recruiters to read your CV, the more chance you have of winning them over.

(D) YOU’RE NOT PROVING YOUR VALUE.
One big mistake that a lot of candidates make with their CV is failing to prove the value in hiring them.

Employers are looking for people who will join their team and make an impact by contributing to their success. Although most candidates show what they’ve done in their previous jobs; not all candidates tell recruiters what impact their actions have made on their previous employers.

Responsibility + Result = Impact
In order to prove your impact, you must try to show the results of your actions where possible.

For example, instead of writing:
Making outbound sales calls.
You could write:
Making outbound sales calls in order to generate a steady pipeline of customer leads and sales.
By expanding upon your actions to show the results you have achieved for the business, you prove your impact and show the benefits an employer could expect when hiring you. You may not be able to do this for every point you make, but try to where possible.

(E) YOU’RE NOT CONNECTING ON LINKEDIN.
Having a strong presence on LinkedIn is no longer optional – it’s essential if you want to get ahead in today’s job market.

If nothing else, it’s a great way to ensure that you get on to a recruiter’s radar after applying for one of their roles. Once you’ve applied for a role, search for the recruiter on LinkedIn and send them a connection request.

Write a personalised message, introducing yourself and explain that you’ve recently applied for one of their roles.
Connecting on LinkedIn is another way of ensuring that you get noticed by the recruiter and making sure that they review your CV.

Your LinkedIn profile should be kept up-to-date, and you should try to collect as many recommendations from previous employers as you can – they are a great way of proving that you’ve performed well in past jobs.

CONCLUSION.
If you are finding that a large number of your job applications are going un-responded, try implementing some of the above tactics to your job hunt today.

By correcting some of these common mistakes, you should be able to improve your response rate and quickly increase your interview requests.
