Appleyard: Tell me: the Bosnian war, the Kosovo war, the Afghanistan war, the Libyan war, etc, NATO didn't attack the nation involved or the nation attacked them first? all those wars were reactionary attack for an earlier attack on the interest of NATO member states. none of it was an outright attack by NATO. it's a defensive alliance and they always stay that way. |

DerrickzB: Finland’s terrain is impossible to conquer, Russia lost 700k plus troops!! I know that, but do you know how many territories Finland lost?? The peace treaty of Moscow saved Finland bro!! There was no defeat, the league of nation kicked Russia out of the league hence promoting the peace treaty man!! And Hitler invaded Russia, how did he get it We can’t remove the fact that Russia is powerful bro Hitler didn't invade Russia, He invaded the USSR. Big difference. His Army did get to Moscow but instead of taking the city and ending the invasion decided to change plan and capture the oil fields in Ukraine and then got stuck in an ego fight over Stalingard and winter came. Russia is powerful and so is Finland. Wait do you think staying neutral comes from weakness? Finland Military is more modern than Ukraine and they have something that Ukraine didn't have. The European Union. The EU has identical defense treaty as NATO so if Putin is bold enough to attack Europe then his end is even more near than I thought and would save the world a lot of stress |

Appleyard: Lmao. Even blind Bathemos knows R is for Republic. But who is the head, central and sole inheritor of that Republic? Russia.
Get sense.
Even many western writers today equate present day Russia to the then Soviet Union, and is rightly so because the Union was initiated by Russia, led by Russia and after collapse, Russia inherited it's assets and liabilities. You even quoted an article to proof this same point. Russia didn't inherit shit and isn't a successor to crap. It's the US that you all love to hate that made it possible if not, Russia would have started from Ground Zero and there would have been a power vacuum at the UNSC. Just like they did for mainland China. Russia isn't the USSR, they don't speak for the USSR that no longer exist. It's how you guys are so dulled but will be quick to shout western propaganda that is it for me |

NATO is supposed to be a defense Bloc but has spent all of it's years attacking nations that never attacked them. It's the geopolitical aircraft carrier and forward base propagating US imperialism and hegemony. Propaganda upon propaganda.... NATO has never attacked any country first. DerrickzB: Are you aware that Ukraine is almost 2times bigger than Finland?? And Ukraine is in ruins!! Russia would swallow Finland bro!! Let’s hope such doesn’t even exist!! There is a reason Russia is a world power and america has avoided direct confrontations with them!! If you think Russia has rolled out 20% of their arsenals then you are being deceived and just so you know, The chenchen soldiers, LPR and DPR militias and very little units of Russia soldiers are the ones fighting the Ukraine war!! If Russia pulls up actually, forget it.. you mean the same Finland that defeated the USSR. The defeat that gave Hitler the final push to approve the invasion of the Soviet Union. You have Internet, Google the terrain of Finland. It's almost identical and even worse than Afghanistan and the later is known as the cemetery of Super powers |

Your enemy can’t keep expanding to your neighbors house and you sleep in peace.. no way bro there was no agreement with Russia. Russia is not the Soviet Union. The Agreement was more a gentleman agreement. If I do this, you will do this right? If we let you Unify Germany and induct them into NATO, you won't try to poach other countries in Eastern Europe. Yes they are free but Mexico would never dream of it because unlike Russia, the US don't bully its neighbors. You get it now... If you're good to your neighbors, they don't seek foreign help. Same scenario is playing out in South China Sea where China is claiming they own it despite being told they don't. When those neighboring countries now chose alliance with America to push back China's aggression, you guys will come up with the stupid take "how will America feel if China stations weapons in Mexico, yen yen yen". Every kindergarten knows that R actually means Republic, but Russia is the head of that Republic and hence it's sole inheritor of all that constituted the Republic's power. inherit which Republic power. You guys and spinning around. It's like a trademark for you guys. You didn't know the R was Republic and when you were corrected as usual you decide to spin it around. At least they have been one close to a century. What does that tell u? It’s certain Ukraine would lose most of its Eastern states to Russia after this war. Many eastern Ukrainians feel like they are Russians there were never one... how many times must it be pointed out... First time and under USSR, Ukrainian were forced into the alliance by conquest not something they accepted voluntarily. Ukraine government don't have problem with what people feel, they problem is that they don't want to cede any Ukrainian territory to Russia. so if you feel Russian, move to Russia. Foreign Affairs › Re: UK To Send 120 Armoured Vehicles To Ukraine As Boris Johnson Meets Zelensky by railone(m): 4:29pm On Apr 10, 2022 |
fairheart: You sounded so educated, yet you do not understand geopolitical games. Russia is not weak; I can tell you that Russia is not weak. What's happening in Ukraine is not a test of capabilities, but sheer decimation -- to make the Ukraine infrastructurally, economically, and financially weak. With this visibly seen, the idea that Ukraine will not join NATO is not fully registered and is being accepted by the whole of the EU.
Secondly, consider that Russia is not a weak state. Russia is the only country that has been able to stop the U.S military agenda in the middle east, with Syria being an example. There is still a government in Syria because Russia's military and bases are there, despite the U.S pushing for the removal of Assad.
Also, the heavy casualty is expected of any army involved in urban warfare as there is a high risk of exposure. Urban warfare is the most difficult, and so a country with the strong army is at risk of losing, and this could be the U.S, or China.
One thing I do see as a major weakness on the part of its military if you understand Russia's military history is the morale of its army. The soldiers are unwilling to fight. When it comes to weapons, Russia is one of the best 3 countries with the most effective military hardware, and that is why they are the second-largest producer of weapons in the world. A country cannot be the second-largest arms supplier if it does not have military prowess. According to some analyses, Russia has the best air defence system in the world and some of the most efficient submarines. And do not forget, the country is also a major leader in space technologies and others.
I want to believe that if the invasion of Ukraine were to be an all-out war, Ukraine's Capital would be in ruin by now. Or do you think they couldn't strike the capital? They can! But this is not an all-out war! Remember their goal is to weaken Ukraine so that it becomes unsuitable for EU membership and force it to abandon NATO membership.
I read here how Nairaland kids compare Russia to Nigeria; while Russia may not be right with its invasion, it does not make it a less country, stooping so low that anyone would compare it to Nigeria or even any country in the EU. The largest country in the world, with 11-time zone or so, one of the 3 largest producers of wheat, oil, and other vital products the world depends. No matter how terrible she is faring in its military activities in Ukraine, Russia is still a nation of global importance and a strategic country. That is why other global players like Germany, China, India, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Qatar, and so on deal with it and continue to deal with it.
Whether Russia wins or loses, its global importance will not vanish. In fact, I suspect that the outcome in Ukraine will make Russia further modernize its army for the next generation of war.
My position is that dialogue is the best method. Weapon never makes peace, but pieces. I hope you learn a little! did you just say Russia stop the US in Syria... Smh.. if the US wanted Assad gone, he'd have been from there even before Russia entered the war. NATO presence in Syria was against terrorism, ISIS not the Civil War in Syria. That's a whole different scenario. Imagine NATO in a country for 2 years and there's no regime change. that's laughable |

Foreign Affairs › Re: UK To Send 120 Armoured Vehicles To Ukraine As Boris Johnson Meets Zelensky by railone(m): 3:45pm On Apr 10, 2022 |
Heathrow44: go and read the NATO agreement or treaty, US and NATO can't send fighter jets to a non nato country, they are bound to protect each other during war, US and NATO would have taken caution even though Ukraine was a nato member not to talk of when they are not, US has been sending wat and wat exactly? can Russia really prove US presence or aid to Ukraine, US has only engaged Russia through economic sanctions and blockades and has refused military intervention for the sole purpose of not inviting WW3, NATO countries supplying arms to Ukraine are all in the news but they end up in.the polish border, When u close the skies over Ukraine it means a US made fighter jet would have to engage a Russian jet and that's dragging US into the war, wat US has only done is indirect arming of the Ukraine resistance and there's no known provocations as it isn't a direct attack and Russia doesn't see it as so yet, Russia mind u can also seek military assistance from its allies like China but it seems China is trying t stay neutral why do you guys like saying US and NATO? I mean you can't never say flour and cake right |

Mooh247: Putin is getting more ruthless and angry. I see him rain in more long range missiles this week after the train station bombardment killing 39 people... Russia's missiles are mostly undectectable by radar so for now only Fighter Jets , Drones or S300, S400, Patriot missile defence system can save Ukraine
Armoured vehicles can only protect few ground troops and VIPs It's not a video game where you just select weapon and start using it. F-16, Rafale, Typhoons are all different systems to what Ukraine understand. It'd take months of practice for Ukraine to declare those jets combat ready. Same with the Patriot systems. it has FoF identification system, taking one from US to Ukraine will also target Ukraine jets and missiles as it would identify them as Foe not Friend. You guys need to chill with the emotions |
