Ifite - UNIZIK Road: Anambra State Govt Engages a 2nd Contractor, Extends the Road Project to Amansea

Answering a call from the Student Union Government, Anambra State Commissioner for Works and his team in company of the SUG Executives did a tour of the Ifite UNIZIK road project today...

Here are points to note:

1. Work is ongoing on the road which has been in a deplorable state for many years

2. Drainage work on both sides of the road from Commissioner's Quarters to Diamond Hostel has been completed and continuing

3. Government has awarded the second part of the road; from UNIZIK Gate through Ezu River, Amansea to Cotabs Engineering

4. The two contractors will from next week focus on emptying the drains and ensuring the road is relatively passable to reduce hardship on the students

5. Students deserve quality welfare and as such work must be sped up to complete the road in a record time.

6. Street lighting has commenced on the road and some adjoining streets to reduce incidents of pickpockets amidst other benefits

7. Students of UNIZIK are commended for their patience, responsible engagement and continuous support to the government
