sapele914: Not sure what your definition of "best" is, but in general: Africa: South Africa. I haven't been to a lot of countries in Africa, but South Africa is by far the most developed of the few I've been. Europe: Portugal. This isn't the "best" country in Europe, for several reasons, like economy and such, but I think I liked it best. North America: The U.S, by far. 1 Like 2 Shares |

G00DHardDick: Most of the gun violence happens between gangs and rival gangs. The authorities sometimes try to combat this violence, but it happens at a rate that's a bit more than the resources available to investigate and try each case. So many of these shootings and murders, particularly in Chicago will never be solved. Also, the black community doesn't really help, as they have a street code of "no snitching!" So even if the community knows who shot someone, most keep their mouths shut. If you snitch, you or your family will be next to get shot. It's a sad state of affairs. So if you ever plan to move to the US, do whatever you can to avoid bad "hoods." If you can't afford good neighborhoods, you're better off living in a small town somewhere in the Mid-West, and commuting to a nearby city for work. There's also the issue of mass shootings in schools and public places, which is a different issue on its own. 5 Likes 1 Share |

SirJerrie: Thanks. As long as your dreams and inspirations are translated into actionable goals, there's no reason you can't make it work. Always ask yourself what you can do today to actually move you one step in that direction. People often limit themselves with stuff like "I don't have money," "I don't have time" etc. The reality is they just haven't prioritized those things. Like someone saying they don't have money to launch a N200k business idea they had, but somehow they have an N800k phone, and are unemployed. They just haven't prioritized their funds effectively. Or someone saying they don't have the time to study a professional course online, to acquire a new marketable skill. Yet, somehow, they've seen every episode of every TV show you can think of. They just haven't prioritized their time effectively. I'm sure you don't personally fall into these categories, but it's an example of how people sabotage their own progress toward their dreams. No one needs to save up a million dollars to start traveling the world. Hell, a lot of Americans start traveling the world with like $200 in their bank account. All you need is a steady remote income that will keep covering all your expenses, as you travel. And of course, emergency funds, in case you need to evacuate a place suddenly and return home. 8 Likes 2 Shares |

samuelson06: This thread is purely travel-related, not professional endeavors. However, the bold part is a problematic approach that causes many people to self-sabotage. Don't look for shortcuts and don't focus on quick gains. Focus on long-term skills and long-term outcomes. I would recommend you take advantage of the numerous free resources online. If you want to go into the often lucrative field of programming, you can start with freecodecamp.org. It's free, and you'll be issued certificates. You can learn enough to land a Junior Developer job at a small startup. If you want to go into Data Analysis, you can start with Google's official Data Analytics Certification on Coursera.org It can take you several months to complete, if you're not very focused. If you go all in, you can do it in 2 months. Coursera is $39.99/month. So $80 for 2 months. You'll be issued a Data Analyst certificate. If you actually learn the skill, and not just breeze through to pass (like many students do), you can apply to Junior Data Analyst job positions. These things pay a decent enough wage to start out in Tech. There is also cybersecurity and other areas to look into. All the best. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

akpota: Most of the remote jobs in the US rarely hire foreigners, except you significantly stand out. You can check on remote.co, which is mostly free to browse the remote jobs flexjobs.com has a lot of listings, but are mostly for more advanced senior positions. It's also a paid option, so it might not be worth it for you. Linkedin also has a remote work job listing. You can filter by remote work, and is free to access, as long as you have a Linkedin account. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Oiganji02: I can't answer immigration and relocation questions, but Canada is pretty nice. The demographic of people is generally similar to the US, except there are fewer blacks and more Asians. The culture in English-speaking Canada is also very similar to the US. French-speaking Canada in Quebec is a bit different, as their architecture, language and general culture is more of the French. Canada is a massive country that's very spread out, so there are different vibes in different provinces. Blacks are generally fine, but of course, there'll always be a hint of subtle racially motivated situations. Nothing to lose sleep over though. 3 Likes |

G00DHardDick: Yes. Especially if you live in a rough neighborhood, in a city like Chicago. 1860 people got shot in Chicago last year. That's 5 a day, on average. If you live in a good neighborhood, you're generally fine. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Streetmovement: Haha, Brazilian women are nice, but honestly, you might be disappointed if you go. Most people go with very high expectations of the women. Then they realize there's a serious obesity problem in Brazil now, and most of the girls have become morbidly obese. When they're in shape, they are nice though. I've talked more about it earlier in the thread. 2 Likes |

Yaks02: No one living like this has two heads. I also dreamed of living this life one day, but I didn't stop at dreaming. I took every step necessary to get to this point. Make goals, break them into very small pieces that you can start today. So the real question is, what can you do today to move you closer to the life you want to live? Maybe that step is enrolling in a course that teaches you a marketable skill. Maybe that step is watching a YouTube video on programming in Python, for beginners. It's all in your hands. 15 Likes 3 Shares |

abbay19: I only visited Lisbon in Portugal, but it's a great city. Good weather, so it's rarely too hot or too cold. The people are generally nice and courteous. The old city area has interesting architecture and cool little cobblestone streets. It's not as expensive as many Western European countries, so it's a nice place to spend a bit of time. Many people speak English as well, just like many parts of Europe, I guess. 1 Like |

However, with that said, when I first posted this thread last week, I actually had a pic of my US and Nigerian passports. The mods removed it. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

deygar: Yes, there are many Nigerians in Manila, but most of them are unemployed and constitute a bit of a nuisance in Makati. The locals are tired of them, and try to avoid them. It's a bit unfortunate. South East Asia is not the US. Most Nigerians who go there, stay illegally and are unemployable. Mostly because of undocumented status and low marketable skills, so they end up in illegal activities. Don't become one of them. 5 Likes |

Although I've never seen as many drunk people puking in the streets of nightlife areas, like Clark Quay, before. I guess they can't handle their liquor. 2 Likes |

Rechargeam247: No, I don't travel for a living. If you could earn a good income regardless of where you were, what would be the point of being stuck in one place? I don't have any kids yet, so now is the time to see the world, before I have to be tied to one place, to raise them. Lukuluku69: I've actually answered this question a few times. Please read the earlier responses. The native black population of Argentina are less than 1% of the general population. Most blacks in Buenos Aires are African immigrants from Senegal. I haven't met a black Argentine yet. Indigenous tribes are not a major part of the population. They're a very small percentage. Argentina is almost entirely a European stock. Over 90% of Argentines are of European descent. Mostly Italy and Spain, and a bit of German. 1 Like 1 Share |

brainhgeek: 1. Read this post: https://www.nairaland.com/7484940/lived-visited-over-30-countries#119222665 2. Addis Ababa is decent enough, kinda like Abuja. The girls look great, especially the Habesha ones. Accommodation on airbnb is expensive, compared to many much better countries, especially for the mediocre quality you get. You can have a good time there, as long as you stay within Addis. Most other regions are a bit volatile and undeveloped. 1 Like |

Johel: I do fine for myself, but this is actually a misconception. You don't need to be rich to travel the world, if the following apply: 1. You have a passport that offers visa-free access to many places. 2. You are educated (formally or informally), with enough marketable digital skills to earn a good remote income. Whether as a business owner or employee. There are a ton of things you can teach yourself with free resources online, and get a remote job with. Programming, data analysis, cybersecurity and a lot more. Stuff like graphic design might not cut it, except you get a full time remote job. 3. You have the flexibility/freedom to just get up and go, for long periods. This is much easier when you don't have kids. 11 Likes 4 Shares |
