Was going through the trend from page 1, came across prominent names who showed passion for the job, eventually got in and paid the ultimate price in the course of service to this great nation, this are guys that where among the pioneers of this trend. Came across late mangojuice and iambubas post, I was wondering, how many of us know what we are really getting ourselves into. Gentleman pause and ponder if u are really passionate about this job or u are in desperate need of a job for the pay sake as a result of unemployment.. As for me, my mind is made up, I pray our case will be different, our obituary will not be featured here untimely, we will go succeed and excel in length of days defiling the odds. May God rest the soul of our dearly departed comrades. God bless Nigeria army, God bless Nairaland battalion |

sikowitz17: lol dinner is your problem.. all the things we’ve been saying about SSC and the likes... you’ve not caught anything? Anyways as regards food, during screening you’ll eat normal.. morning, afternoon and night.. during training, you’ll eat like a king set most of the time when you aren’t suffering.. as they never starve cadets when it comes to eating.. I even recently saw a buffet for regular cadets and it was massive... they were cutting big cow meat that was hung for them on hanger like this and they were cutting it with knife to eat.. just for cadets! Half cow each in like 10 places.. Baba wan eat dinner, maybe him don see that RC dinner video wey dy go round WhatsApp. Baba ssc nah wahala oooh... No peace at all, nah to survive training, hang pip, then we fit organize nairaland battalion dinner |

QuadrilAyinde: If possible sef, Make the Army Authorities Screen Applicants According to their Zone and Later publish the final list of those that are to report for Training... I think Nah that time the Flight Idea go kum make sense Pass coz person go know sey Nah Training resumption He dey Carry flight ontop and Not Screening wey Never sure sef
Make All those from SouthWest gather for one state do their Screening, Make those from SouthEast gather for one state do their thing etc etc
For Transparency and Appreciable Effectiveness, Make dem Interchange the Coordinating officers as in Make dem deploy Hausa Officers come the southwest Zonal screening, Make them Deploy Yoruba Officers fo the East Zonal screening etc etc Doing it zone by zone will incure cost and give room for irregularities beside that idea can never happen.... Just gather flight money or travel stop for Abuja then board train to kaduna |

ugo4u: It also reminds of Flight Lt Perowei and his co-Pilot Kalto Silka who died in a helicopter crash during a combat mission on new year day (2019). Perowei got married a month earlier before his demise leaving behind his then pregnant wife who later gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. These are guys i joke alot with when they were still in flight school. When the news of their death was announced I couldn't believe it, these are very bright and promising young men that were cut short in their prime anytime I come across the pics we took together on my system its as if someone poke me with a needle in the heart. You can now imagine the pain the young woman(his wife) and their families are going through e no easy. That's why to settle down seems difficult for alot of officers, to marry they fear some of them especially the young ones. I remember a Captain (now late) in response to a banter from a friend why he don't wanna get married he jokingly said he didn't wanna make any lady a widow ... Sadly, within a year of making that statement he was killed in an ambush in baga. Personally, I see any lady that marries a military man as a strong woman.
This song SOLDIER by Chike Sends alot of chills to the spine, same for Johnny drille's. Wait for me I Recommend both songs for all prospective officers. Make una listen to the lyrics of both songs with rapt attention.
That's why I just laugh when some people here are gingering to be at the war front, I see it as youthful exuberance even the most battle hardened soldier won't pray to be drafted to a volatile region. According to a friend " Who no come no go know. na when you hear enemy gunshots from AA your entire life go flash within seconds for your eyes that time you go realise say this life too sweet". One may train as hard as possible and may even be the best amongst his peers when deployed for operations he may not even have the opportunity to fire a single shot before being KIA. Aside enemy fire/ambush IEDs are real threats. The military is not an ideal place where one find succour from unemployment. War no good at all, I no blame people wey dey run go DSSC them get legit reasons.
It is praiseworthy to be brave and fearless, but sometimes it is better to be a coward. We often stand in the compound of a coward to point at the ruins where a brave man used to live.” Chinua Achebe Couldn't help but copy the last quote to my status... Great write up as usual from u sir |

Mugiwaraluffy: Try and get one from ministry of education. Depending on your state, I got one this year from a school nearby. It mustn't be the school you graduated from. I hate to say this, but if you don't know the principal, you can grease his/her hand small something from 5-10k. Explain to em what you need it for, some would oblige without stressing you. Good luck Gaskiya kam.... Sai ya grease, its very very important |

Arisukuni: I don't know if its me you are referring to though. My degree was 2016. I also tendered waec of 2017. I actually had different waec with different ages on them, but not all I made my papers. I have one of 2009 which I used to enter school though I don't have good grade in maths on it, in fact that's the best amongst all the waec I wrote then, before I finally decided to use it for higher institution. So while in school I was still writing WAEC because I wanted to have a good grade. so I finally made good grade on the one I wrote 2017, and the age on it is two years reduced to the 2009 own I used to gain admission.
So when Lt col Olasiegbe who is the board secretary, if am right, he vented my document and discovered the Waec I tendered is 2017 and my degree is 2016, he directed me to explain myself to Major Ango, Ango use me catch cruise, I explained to him the reason I used it was because I have completed result on it. So he instructed me to go bring the WAEC I used to gain admission, they were sensing its because of the age, truly the age difference on the results is one of the reasons, because its two years difference from the other one. So they asked me to stay one side for a while, until later they granted me and others to go and do affidavit at Kaduna high court. It was this same WAEC I used for 45, but it was print out. I remembered then in 45 it was about to get to my turn in Afaka for medical when a call came in from the board secretary then, Lt. Col Saleh, they instructed the the Yellow Lt at the medical to pause my medical, then they had to start interrogating me about the WAEC result and why I didn't have the certificate, why the print out. During that time I was so tensed if they checked my BP immediately it will not read less than 160/90 I could feel it. They carried on medical with others leaving about 10 of us aside, it was after a while a call came in again from NDA that they can continue with my medical, only me, they didn't attend to the rest. they were just with us through out the screening without doing medical and they didn't allow them to leave NDA, they delayed them well, it was after medical was announced that they allow them to go. That scenario was one of the reason i failed the medical through my BP, cus as at then i could feel it anxiety still dey my body, was still tensed.
They didn't do medical for those guys because some of them altered their certificate. My village man was among those they didn't attend to, he also altered his FLSC using his pen to change his DOB, he was OG 12 then, he didnt know the implications of what he did, if I had known he wanted to do it I would have advised him. I miss the guy sha, I wish to get his contact, he was a wonderful guy.
Pray you don't have delay at documentation stage because the stress alone can make you get tensed and anxious which may affect your BP, because if you don't pass documentation stage you will not proceed to medical, And seeing your mate going for medical and you are still sideline, that alone can cause depression and anxiety for you. Your body system may not be alright throughout that day.
Victory is from Almighty God Alone. What a small world.... Never knew it was you |

As regarding age been doctored, army know this things, but the way and manner you work on you age, ensure that it looks logical to the person screening your credentials even though he or she knows u doctored, but you did it accordingly and logically. Ensure ur affidavit is intact, if there should be discrepancies on ur credentials, it shouldn't be in atleast not more than one document and that document should be back up with the right affidavit, sworn at the right time... Last board a village man degree was gotten 2016 and his waec was gotten 2017.... Another village man used biro to adjust an innocent mistake on his FSLC as regarding his dob, it end up almost costing him his chances, dan Allah to correct this things is with sense in Staff serg.
