Do I have to know such a person? My overall point is that the 'occurences' of these events should give a true seeker pause. It should make the atheist or the skeptic(which I think I am) think. I consider atheism a rash albeit courageous position to assume. The absence of satisfactory or incontrovertible evidence should not be taken as proof of absence. I believe that doing this would amount to arrogance at best and dishonesty at worst.

Most are not prosperous. Also, atheists have no problem with non-atheists that aren't religious.

They are prosperous religious countries and non-prosperous ones. The same thing also applies the non-religious nations. My overall point is that religion is not necessarily the cause of the backwardness in those countries. It might be a factor but it certainly isn't the major factor.
