It's convenient to heap curses on doctors and hospitals but what people don't realize is that hospitals run on money. A lot of money. If you keep expecting hospitals to treat every patient before collecting money, the hospital will shut down in no time. Our people are fond of taking advantage of goodwill. Once they realize that hospitals are treating without collecting upfront, they will troop in for free treatment even if they have the money. I remember a post someone shared here about a doctor who attended to an emergency case in the middle of the night. The patient's family pleaded that they don't have any means of getting money at that time of the night and they will pay first thing in the morning. He eventually treated the patient without them paying a kobo and went off duty afterwards. The following day, he was called while asleep that the patient and his family fled from the hospital before dawn. Not only did he pay for the treatment, he was sacked from the private hospital.

Hospitals, like every other business needs money to keep themselves afloat. Expecting them to treat every patient that comes in without collecting a dime is a recipe for disaster in an already failing healthcare system.

Dis particular guy was crying, he meet a doctor nd d doctor attended to d boy. He was in so much blood which d doctor told him he has lost a lot of blood nd de need to do xray cus he be going for surgery. told him to get a card, nd told him to pay some amount of money, d guy told d doctor he shud commence treatment dat money is not d problem that he is going to get money but d doctor said if he does not pay for treatment of get d card de ll live d boy der, d guy con de beg wit pple wan bring d boy one woman volunteer to help get d card so d boy can get money for treatment but doctor insist say em must pay for treatment even if em buy card d guy beg tire d doc no even look wether person de talk, d guy don beg tire nd em kiddo de die b4 we know na life gun dis guy bring come out from em waist point am for doctor head, life story I d yan so, saying if em brother die em go kill am right der, see were doctor call other doctors with nurse, dem begin attend to d boy fast, every body run including me too oh, after one hour ny police show d place, beat d guy arrest am go station. But one tin has been achieved which is to save his young brother life. How wish d guy no bring gun na so dem for live dat small boy to die. Nigeria doctors, nurses and politicians ny wicked pass for naija nd I no know why.
