Confused here too

Sorry for keeping everyone waiting, things are a bit difficult for me.
So the storyline so far is this:
A Professor was killed and Debola was the only person who had seen the criminal, making him a witness. This obviously puts him in a dilemma as he is now a target for two different cult groups: the one that ordered the hit and the other that had the Professor as its sponsor. Lucia on the other hand was wrongfully framed for the murder by her coursemate Kemi, who is working with the main sponsor of the cult group that killed the man and dates the hitman himself. So Lucia is trying to prove her innocence and Debola is willing to help her along with his friend Marcus. This only makes their lives more dangerous as they are thrown into more trouble with the group that killed the Professor.
Bode is the hitman that murdered the professor. He finds out that Kemi is sleeping with his cult sponsor and is complicating things so he dumps her after dealing with her. He then tries to silence Debola but fails and runs into trouble along the way.

Hope this makes it a bit clearer.

"None of them is here?"
"Boss, shey I go lie ni? Dem no come here?"
"But this is the only police station in this area. How can they not be here?"

Bode looked at the black faced orc that called himself a police officer and shook his head.
"Costain, you sure say na police carry these boys so?"
"Na police now, na police. They even carry their vehicle come sef."
"Officer, where could they have carried the boys to? Is there any other police station around here that they would have carried them to?"
"Wo, I don't know for you guys but I no see anybody."
"Who are you talking to like that?"
"Costain, control yourself."
"But he dey disrespect...... "
"Costain!"
Costain quickly took his voice away while Bode walked towards the officer until they were staring eyeball to eyeball.
"Officer, make we talk inside."
The orc of a man agreed and walked inside, Bode following him.
Twenty minutes later, both he and Costain entered his car.
"Dem carry the boys go Ile-gbo."
"Oga, that one serious oh. Who go get that power do that one?"
"We will know when we get to the station. For now let's...... "
All of a sudden a loud bang was heard and Bode was spinning with the car.
"Costain, bend down!"
Costain refused and instead brought out an AK-47 hidden at the back of the car.
"Oga, drive us comot from here before dem..... "
Bode did not have time to look at his partner before a bullet went through his arm, sending a thousand joules of pain to his spine.
"Costain, hold the steering. Cos......."
He turned and found Costain in a pool of blood, his throat bearing a bullet hole.
"Shit!" He muttered as he struggled to control the car.
"Bode, don't try and fight us. We want you now and alive but if you pull any stunts, you will die."
"Better dead than taken." He quickly picked the AK-47 and faced the first person in his line of sight only for him to see a dart sticking from his neck. His eyes went blurry and his hands felt like lead.
He could only see a sea of red before he blacked out.

"But this is the only police station in this area. How can they not be here?"
"Na so I see am oh."

"Tunde, make sure you keep an eye on Debola's classmates for the duration of the exams. He may not be strong on the first day but he may show up sooner than we think."
"Yes boss."
"Costain, round up the new recruits and search every hostel close to campus. Look for Debola or anyone related to him."
"Including his girlfriend?"
"Does he have a girlfriend?"
"The girl named Lucia, the one that was initially blamed for the assassination."
"She is not his girlfriend but if you find her, bring her to me."
Yes sir.
"Pepper, gather dem boys make we reach Baba Ologbun. We have to prepare for this week."
"Yes sir. "
Bode waved his hand at them, dismissing them to their duties. He then simply picked a cigarette and lit it, puffing out some shapes of smoke a few seconds later.
His phone rang.
"Costain, Wetin happen? "
"Oga, dem don pack our boys go."
" What are you saying? Who packed what? "
" I just see police dey carry dem go now, now. Dem dey pass Oluwole street. "
"Costain, stay where you are. I dey come there now. "
"Okay Oga."
"Freeman!Freeman!!" Bode cut the call and rushed out.
"Come and drive me to Makinde street. E be like say we go bail boys today. "


Lucia watched as Marcus transferred the video to his phone and then uploaded it to Google Drive before deleting the video from her phone.
" Are you satisfied now? " Christiana asked as he returned Lucia's phone to her.
"This is for the best, Lucia. If anything happens to you, we know the truth and have the evidence. Moreover, the video cannot implicate you again. "
"But she has lost all evidence to prove her innocence. "
"She lost nothing. " Marcus faced Christiana squarely.
Lucia's phone rang.
"It's Maureen."
"Pick it and put it on speaker."
Lucia did as she was told.
"Maureen, how are you doing?"
"Lucia, wherever you are right now, don't return home today. They are looking for you."
"Who?"
"I don't know. They barged into our house and scattered the place, asking me if I know your whereabouts. They are also looking for Debola."
"OK, Maureen. Thank you."
She cut the phone.
"Seems you have to sleep over today. "

Lucia shifted her gaze from Marcus to Debola and back. Can she trust these people? True, Debola had gone through a lot recently for her but Marcus so far has gone through nothing and may even be walking against her and Debola in secret. Not that he has given any hint of that anyway.
'I know that I ask a lot from you in this, but trust me, Lucia. I only mean the best for you and Debola.'
'And how do we know that? You just want her to handle over the only video that can save her life and her schooling to you like that? How can we even trust you guys?'
Lucia saw a stab of pain in Debola's eyes but Marcus kept his eyes firmly at her. Tobi had gone ahead to sleep on the floor.
'Christiana, what was your plan coming here if you don't trust us? Why come here if you don't want our help? Why?'
She looked at her friend with a cold stare. 'She came here. She wanted to show you guys because she had nowhere else to go. I just followed her here.'
'Is that so, Lucia?'
Debola suddenly stood up and walked towards her. 'Lucia, I know you don't have a reason to trust Marcus, but at least try and trust me. You know how much I care about you.' He stared at her eyes, pouring his soul out. 'Please trust in me, in us. Please hand over the video to Marcus.'
Lucia caught his stare and threw it away. She then brushed him aside and faced Marcus. 'If I hand this video to you, what will you do with it?
I will keep it safe online and then delete it from my phone.'
Lucia eyes suddenly caught fire. 'That's all? You mean you want to collect the video just to save it? Then why did I come here if that's all the help you can come up with? Why in God's name did I even risk myself at this time to come here?'
'You did that because you know that you will be safe here. You came here because this is the one place you know that you will find allies. You came here because you know the end of this drama is near and that you want to be on the winning side. So Lucia, trust me and give me the phone. '
Lucia bit her lower lip, took a look at her phone and passed it to him.

No. I am sorry for delaying in the story but I have been busy with INEC work as an ad-hoc staff for the elections. Moreover I am passing out on Thursday, so a lot is on my plate. But I will try and resume as soon as possible with regular updates.

As they watched the video, even Marcus was grave and quiet.
"Lucia, this is a dangerous video you brought to us."
"I know. But I have no place to go with it."

"Believe me, that's the only solution for her. If she is found with this video, it will be a serious problem, especially if Kemi or Prof Ilesanmi finds that out. But it's left for Lucia to decide. He turned to her. The ball is in your court."


Esther walked away, fuming. She had planned to build her power base by seducing Bode but it has backfired. Instead, she is the one that is disgraced by him. To believe he had the nerve to force her to suck his dick and then do so many ungodly things while recording the whole episode made her angry. His final words kept echoing to her ears. "If you ever try to retaliate against me or my guys, this video will go live on all social media platforms. That is a promise."
"I must get back at you, Bode." She told herself. Yet what could she do than to watch him laugh at her everyday of her life. Her value has fallen in his eyes and could fall in everyone's eyes if that video is released.
She suddenly stopped on the road, a powerful thought flowing through her mind. Debola recently told the Devil Brotherhood about what he knew of Prof. Adebanjo's death. They will be planning to strike back.

Bode broke from his thinking to find Esther looking at him.
"What business do you have here?" Since he found out about Kemi, Esther has been hanging around him. His eyes narrowed as she sashayed down to his front.

"That was a mistake. It will not happen again."
"Really?" She bended, her face fixated at him and her breasts pouring out of their container.
He groped. "Esther, just stop. Why torture yourself like this? You know that nothing good will ever come out of this? Find a young, innocent man and date him."

He wrinkled his nose. She stank of alcohol. "You are drunk again."

She could drink his body if it was a drink, but he could clearly see what was happening. "Esther, leave!"
She slowly raised her body up. "You are sure you don't want this?" She loosed her dress and it fell down.
Bode was speechless for a few minutes, drinking in all the curves and special places in her body. He then smiled.

Twack! A hot slap sent her staggering to the floor.
"I said leave!"
Esther looked shocked for a while, then went for her dress. He seized it.
"Give me that dress, let me leave in peace."
"In peace indeed. Leave that way."
She thought of raising her voice, but thought it as unwise. "Bode, you wanted me out. Please give me my cloth at least."
He smirked. "I will give you one condition."
"What condition is that?"

As he turned to leave, he spotted a roughly-dressed man perched behind a table at a corner. The man seemed not to be aware of Tobi's presence but Tobi himself knew he was only pretending. The man was using a spoon to sip peppery sauce from a ceramic bowl, and dangling from his left hand was a pistol. There was no one else dining. Tobi knew it was time for action. The dining man oozed confidence; he seemed like someone sure of his relationship with triggers. He seemed to have an itchy finger behind a trigger.

Tobi sighed. He quietly placed the food on the table and gently reached for a pistol behind him. The man slowly raised his head and stared directly at Tobi. He gave a short smile and sprang up. He aimed his pistol at Tobi and squeezed three quick shots.

Tobi quickly ducked behind the table bearing the food he had dropped. The bullet flew past his left ear, the second shattered the plate that contained his food, sending pieces of rice grains and shards of the ceramic flying in the air. The third bullet caught the poor waiter in the eye.

Damn! This bastard is fast!

He knew what he had to do; he had to lure him out of the restaurant to the open. Irele might come here and catch bullets in her flat stomach. He was not going to allow that. If Irele had the sense God gave a mosquito, she would find her way far away from here.

Lucia turned around and then noticed Tobi, who was just beginning to stand up.

How a supposedly disabled boy, stuck on the hospital bed escape their grasp? He called the hit on Debola feeling a little pity for him. The boy had done nothing to offend him truly and had even forgotten about their chance meeting. Everything could have been swept under the carpet if his memory kept failing him.
But that did not happen. The Devil's brotherhood made sure of that. Bode knew what they could do and even made plans to secure Debola by kidnapping him first.
But that has passed and now Debola has disappeared. He thought of attacking his exam hall but decided against it. Debola will not show up he is too weak for that. He will put eyes out.
Now he has to plan for Prof. Ilesanmi.

Lucia and Christiana got to Marcus house by 10 pm. Since the day Debola was kidnapped, Marcus and Tobi rented a room in a remote area in town. He considered here to be safe because it was close to the Oba's palace and no one would dare to make it a hit on them. However, it was dangerous for them to arrive, due to the curfew imposed on the town for some rituals to be done.

Kpoom! Kpoom!!
Who's there?

It's Lucia. Please open up.
Lucia heard a hiss and some arguments inside the house.
Will they answer us, Lucia? Christiana asked, staring outside.

He stood up and walked gingerly to the window. The world seemed quiet from his standpoint. People moving around, minding their business. Debola was about to close the curtains and move back to the bed when he saw them, two boys that looked like they were in their late teens walking in as bold as you please, entering the hospital.
Debola knew he had to move.


"Lucia, where did you get this? "
Maureen and Christiana looked at the video with shock and apprehension.
"It's was just by chance that I saw them."
"Hmm, this could end Prof Ilesanmi if this comes to the right hands."
"But it could lead to a big deal of trouble in the wrong hands, Maureen."
"So what should I do, girls?"
"Put it on Facebook, create a scandal online and then capitalize on the pressure to deal with them."
"But then the CSO will come after me. Moreover, if they ask how I got this video, what do I say?"
"Explain to them, but spread it. If you keep it silent or trust a few people, you may be eliminated."
Lucia slumped on the chair.

Debola woke up peacefully. His sleep had been restless in the past few days. Today was threatening to be different. The sun shines brightly, even through the blue curtains the hospital covered their windows with. His eyes followed the rise and fall of the curtains as they followed the guide of the wind.
Today was the start of exams and he could not even stand.
He remembered the events that led him here, to this hospital bed. " Wonder what my parents will think or do if they heard this". It was strange how it was after he landed in the hospital bed that's when he remembered his family.
A nurse opened the door and entered.
"Good morning nurse Titi". He said, bringing out a little smile.
"Good morning, Debola." His eyes followed her as she dropped his breakfast.
"Bread and tea." He groaned.
"Yes, Bread and tea."You must finish this today.
"But I can't move my legs, the doctor advised...... "
"That's why I am bringing it to you. " She gave a weak smile, her hands trembling. "Eat it up."
He looked at the food, doubtful of its healthiness.
"Eat or I will tell the doctor that you refused to eat."
Debola looked at her curiously. He had delayed eating before and she never reacted this way. He also began to notice the sweat falling from her face.
"I am not hungry."
"Fine, I will call the doctor. She stood up and walked out."
Something is wrong. Debola brought the food closer and smelled it. Nothing seemed amiss.
He took a spoon and turned the tea. No problems there.
You are overthinking things. She just wants you to be well. Eat up and stop behaving like a child.
He attempted to cut the bread but stopped short. It's not out of place for him to be poisoned. He had told all he knew about the murder to another cult group and it's likely that they will stage an attack. The group that killed Prof. Adebanjo may decide to kill him afterwards. Yes, they would prefer to cut down anyone in their way and kill him, but poison is more subtle.
He dragged the meal sideways and struggled to his feet. She would soon be here with the doctor and he won't have an excuse not to eat it. Unless...
The tea was hot, as the doctor requested. Little but hot. Quickly, he opened the bottled water which was brought two days ago and poured it into the tea. Then he went back to bed and posted the meal the way it was before.
She did not take long to arrive with the doctor.
"See, he did not touch the food."
The doctor walked towards him and touched his brow. "Are you not hungry?"
"The tea is cold." Debola pointed to it.
The doctor did not need to touch it. "Titi, How many times do I need to tell you to make fresh tea for him?" She looked shocked. "Take this tea and make a fresh one."
"Yes sir."She looked and Debola without a smile. The doctor followed her out of the door.
I dodged a bullet. He thought to himself.

Lucia was waiting impatiently. The dangers of been discovered here by an outsider was superceded by the danger if she was discovered by Prof.
Leave the phone here and go back to your books. Her mind was telling her, however Lucia was hesitant. If her phone was discovered, she will be in deep trouble. What would she tell whoever sees her? There will be no defence and even if there was one, Prof. Ilesanmi will still be suspicious of her.

Quickly she slipped her hand through the hole and retrieved her phone. She quickly checked her phone and realized that it was off. Shaking her head in anger, She pressed the power button hard.
"This phone is dead, Oh God." She spat out, before shutting her mouth with her hand. Did she forget where she was?
She heard some legs shuffle and heard footsteps. He is coming out. What do I do?
Quickly she sped down the stairs, barrelling into a lecturer.
Sorry sir. She managed an apology before she zoomed off.
At the end of the stairs, she quickly picked her shoes and her books then she walked away quietly.

Mr Ilesanmi smiled as he looked at Kemi sprawled on his desk. He had enjoyed the session, yet staying here for too long will be troublesome. This was not his office afterall and no matter how friendly the owner of the office is, any outsider who finds him here will start asking questions.
Questions he was not prepared to answer.
"Oya, Kemi stand up." He said, drawing his trousers up and covering his member quickly inside his boxer shorts.
"Kemi." he shook her, a bit alarmed. The last thing he needs is her fainting in this office. If it was his hotel, he would just tell the staff not to disturb her, but this was someone's office.
"Kemi!"
She slowly stirred. She is asleep, good God! He did not have time for this.
"Kemi!" He slapped her cheek, prompting her to wake up sluggishly, blinking her eyes.
Seeing her half naked made him to gain some sexual momentum but he quickly killed it.
Let's go. He tapped her shoulder.
Kemi, now more awake, started to wear her clothes with such speed that even surprised him. Some ladies.
"Please give me a minute, let me put on my make-up."
"Fine. Don't waste my time." As she walked towards the wash hand basin, he heard a muffled shout. He stood still, keeping his ears open for any other noise.
"I am done. " He turned and saw that it was so.
As they stepped out of the office, he checked the surroundings. There is no one here. I must be thinking too much. He smiled and walked downstairs.

She quickly removed her shoes and followed on barefoot. Her eyes wandered from place to place but it never left the pair for more than 5 seconds.
She watched as they took a flight of stairs, making sure they were not too far from her sight.
"I must make sure that they don't see me." Kemi may not be able to do anything, but Prof Ilesanmi has proven to be dangerous. If he could eliminate a fellow Professor, who is she to defy him?
They got to the top of the stairs and he took her to his office. Quickly Lucia walked to the door and tried to peep through the keyhole.
"He covered the keyhole with his keys. How can I get to know what is happening?"
Her eyes scanned through the front of his office and found a hole. It was covered with a curtain but her phone could enter through the hole.
She silently placed her phone on silence and then put the recorder on.

"Sir, please lets go somewhere safe."
"This is quite safe."
Kemi wanted to protest, but it escaped as a moan as he buried his head into her breasts. Very cheap girl. He mused as he kept her nipple on his lips, giving her more moans.
"Sir, what about Bode?"
"I thought you said you want nothing to do with him?"
"Yes sir, but he threatened to deal with me again, during the exams."
"So? How is that my concern?"
'Sir, it is, unless you want your secret to be exposed.'
He lifted his head. "What do you mean? If you are thinking of blackmailing me, better think twice."
"Not me, I want nothing apart from what you are giving me. Bode is the threat."
He laughed. "Bode? How can he? He cannot move against me, after all he is the one who committed the crime. It was his knife that sent Prof Adebanjo to the next world."
"But he said so, even saying that he would make sure you would take the fall for the murder. He plans to confess to the police."
Prof. Ilesanmi laughed for a while, then looked at her with an assured look. " I have the police in my pocket. I have more powerful cult groups under me. Bode stands no chance." As he resumed his revelry, he kept a mental note of Bode.

Lucia stepped out of the hospital, thinking of Debola. The sight she saw was enough to bring her to tears, yet the smile he gave refreshed her soul. She can be happy that at least he was getting better.
His warning though, was another matter. That someone should target her during the exams was really crazy, especially with what she has already gone through.
But what if it's true nko? Kemi had already started this rubbish with her schemes, now she has lost Junior and even her aunty support. It's only Christiana, Maureen and Debola. Debola again.
"I am not in love with him. " This cannot continue, she knew she had to tell him.
"Madam, look where you dey pass. " An angry okada driver shouted at her as she almost entered into the main road. Lucia quickly redirected her course to the nearest block of classes.

As she sat down to relax and think properly, She saw Kemi.
That's the green snake in the green grass.
Lucia's eyes followed her as she walked into the arms of a man. Lucia was about to dismiss the man as her boyfriend when she looked at the face closely, it was Prof Ilesanmi!
Lucia watched as they both walked upstairs, the Prof holding her closely as Kemi unleashed the tears of the world.
Something is wrong here. Lucia told herself. I have to find out what's happening.
She quickly stood up and quietly entered the building. She was determined to stalk them.

She quickly attempted to run away from the room, but it was locked.
