Do not make attempt to compare Ameichi and Fashola in terms of performance! Ameichi tried but He is no where near Fashola in terms of performance.

To begin, give me the % increment Ameichi has brought to Rivers compared to the Fashola has brought to lagos.

In as much as I laud the achievements of Ameichi, however I can not ignore the fact that His government is breathing on moneies from oil (whici is not what Nigeria needs) as oppose to that of Fashola that is breathing of calculated economic revenue generation and fiscal descipline with expenditure.This is what is currently distinguishing Fashola from others and it is that thing we need in our president!

And to the NGF leadership, have you ever seen the master's children fighting over the crumbs that falls from the dinning table? To the political course of the ACN, NGF doesn't serve such, otherwise two of thier very prominent governors (Fashola and Oshiomhole) would have easily swept Ameichi in the gutters

The people flocking to lagos do so because the fed govt in their cleverness built and equipped the only recognized international airport in lagos, they also built the only deep sea port in lagos, how do they expect people to do their import and export business except in lagos.

How ever as new international airports are coming up every where and as the niger delta is set to get their first deep sea port all that is likely to change by 2015 .

Also the oil companies should relocate to the source of their raw materials

Please admit Fashola is doing well. . . .and he has demonstrated he has no time for frivolities.

Oh please, fashola's performance as a governor is not better than that of amaechi who is now the chairman of the NGF. But Rivers people do not place see amaechi as an angel. You don't know how much fashola is looting by the side and to say that everything fashola does is for the interest of lagosians is naive.
Fashola wanted the position of the NGF chairman, but it was almost impossible for him to attain it so he chickened out, not because he wanted to attend to the needs of lagosians as some claim here- and that's the point.

Why do some of you talk like this ? What do you want ? A speech from Fashola himself to confirm he was not interested in the positon? We can only go by what the article states very clearly below which indicates that many Governors wanted Fashola to lead their forum.

He has done well, he is competent. But he is a man. He has eaten public funds and given friends and family members contracts like the rest of them.  

The NGF is a good forum to head. You'll have the power to influence so many things. For your people or for yourself.

Nigerian politics is still very much decided by party loyalties and allegiances. There's no way Fashola would have been chosen ahead of a respected PDP governor,not even if he'd embarked on a campaign of 'fresh air' proportions. If u can prove that Fashola has no interest in seeking higher office, then i'll agree he stood aside becos he wasnt interested. The stark truth is that, Fashola stood back because he stood NO CHANCE and he knew it. Deal with it!
