I shudder at how rumours and lies pass for the truth in Nigeria embarassed Please everyone on nairaland read carefully, Firstnation airline has nothing to do whatsoever with Bola Ahmed Tinubu, i know the owners and though i am not obliged to name them anyone can go to CAC and find out,
Sharrap there, just because he's not a member of PDP,you're falling over yourself to defend the indefensible by sttempting to deceive the uninitiated.
Bola Tinubu has just bought over Bellview airlines,it's been a subject of discussion in some sections of my club some months back.By saying his name is not on form CO7 and CO2 at CAC,you have shown yourself to be either very dubious or indeed very myopically gullible. For your info that's Tinubu's MO,who do you think own Hitech,Radio/TV continental,Oando etc?is Tinubu's name on any of the of the relevant forms of the companies at the CAC?

Go to the CAC also and look for Peter Odili's name in the forms of Arik air, dude have you ever heard of fronts?

Tinubu is a scheming criminal who has succeeded in hoodwinking almost everybody in the south west and some states in other parts of the country.I only pity L;agos tax payers as it's their money Tinubu is stealing and using for his personal investments

It's a shame Tambuwal got elected as the speaker of the houjse of wrecks, what this means is that the regime of malfeasance and grand embezzlement as witnessed during the tenure of Dimeji Bankole will surely continue.

A brief reminder that the N10 billion naira loan saga,ch the for which the EFCC has arrested Bankole was secured after the former deputy house majority whip in the person of this same TAMBUWAL,moved a mnotion that the N22 million quarterly allocation being collected by house members was inadequate and therefore should be jerked up to N42 million quarterly for the least member and N100 million for the speaker.Trust the selfish criminal reps, they all agreed to do this, even when it was not captured in the 2011 budget, hence they had to go abborrowing from a commercial bank;UBA.The rest is history,my point is that it is morally wrong for Tambuwal especially to be walking free while his elder brother Dimeji is under arrest, not to talk of him becoming the new speaker

I hope we have people from Niger to testify about what this man Aliyu achieved for the last four years, or as federal permanent secretary. pls tell him to go an fix all the roads linking the major towns in the state, i.e Minna to Suleja, Minna to Kaduna, Minna to Kontogora etc. On this roads I mention always every day lives lost on contnue basis. What is the essence of a government,
So he should not advise Buhari, who obviously is bigoted and so power-hungry,he resorted to terrorism,to be more nationalistic in his pipe dream quest for the presidencyjust because he has not fixed those roads huh

PoliticsReforming Nigeria Must Begin With Pdp – Jonathan by rasputinn(op): 9:52am On Jun 04, 2011
Reforming Nigeria must begin with PDP – Jonathan

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan said yesterday that if the present reform moves by the government must be achieved, there was need for the reforms to begin with the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, just as he called for the democratization of the country’s decision making process.

Speaking at the opening of a two-day retreat for the President, Governors and National Assembly members elected on the platform of the PDP, President Jonathan also called on State Independent Electoral Commission to conduct free, fair and credible elections when such polls were due at the local government levels, adding, ‘’only in fair procedures and delivery of services is winning of elections guaranteed. The development of our community and nation. begins with our electing men and women of outstanding integrity and credibility whose mission is to offer selfless service.”

The two-day retreat which is holding at the International Conference Centre ICC, Abuja is being organised by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in collaboration with Peoples Democratic Institute, PDI with the theme, ‘’ Legislative and Executive Branch Collaboration: A synergy for National Transformation”

The President who stressed the need for the strengthening of political parties and the need for party members to be disciplined, loyal as well as subject themselves to the dictates and leadership of the party, said, ‘’we must build and strengthen our political parties so that the institutions of democracy can constantly produce such individuals who can defend our party and our Country.

‘’Loyalty, internal democracy and party discipline are some essential elements in this mission. It is therefore imperative that as members of our party we must strive to subject ourselves to the guidance of its leadership.

This is how it is, pple will always want to identify with the winner, he has an interior motive for saying that.
Much as I agree with you that people always tend to identify with successes,Babangida Aliyu has always been a pragmatic politician.

Last year, when the PDP's numerous presidential candidates were holding their declaration rallies,Babangida Aliyu, while speaking at Jonathan's declaration at the eagle square, informed that though he attended that of IBB some days earlier,he had to be at GEJ's too and(with an apparent implication that IBB wasn't likely to get the ticket) advised party faithfuls not to diminish the personalities of people like IBB as whoever succeeded in clinching the ticket would need the support of all partymen

Follow some of his other comments and you'll see that he quite frankly  says it as it is

---desmond never said he is a crime investigator. he said he watches a tv channel called "crime and investigation".
---the blood came about when the woman injured herself in the tussle and scuffle.
---the woman then took advantage of her bleeding and got herself a bloodied face to convince the police that she has been severely beaten.

Truth is bitter
Babangida Aliyu has just told Buhari the plain truth that no one wishing to be president of Nigeria can adopt an ethnic/regional posture.Nigeria does not begin and end in the Northern states

Though he tried to rig,but the groundswell of popular support and votes for the nationally accepted and very-well-loved Dr Goodluck Jonathan, ensured that Buhari's rigging and use of under-aged voters didn't count for anything meaningful
PoliticsBabangida Aliyu: Thank God Buhari Lost The Election by rasputinn(op): 11:12am On Jun 02, 2011
Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State Wednesday declared that  the outcome of the presidential election was a lesson for the North, adding that the North has no choice than to negotiate back into the mainstream.

Said he:  “as Northern states, we have to negotiate ourselves back to the mainstream; that is what we have to do if we must reclaim our position in this nation. We must ensure that anybody who wants to discriminate on religion or sow the seed of discord fails”.

The Niger state governor said  Nigerians and the people of Niger State in particular have thousand and one reasons to thank God that the presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Major General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd), did not win the April presidential election, saying his state would have been a goner if Buhari had won.

He said “we thank God that Buhari did not win the presidential election in the country; we would have been a goner by now. People like that will not win election because God judges people by their intentions. It is always good to have good intention”.

Aliyu was at a retreat organized for State Houses of Assembly members-elect held in Jos, Plateau State on Wednesday, where he stressed again and again that “if the CPC had won the presidential election coupled with the victory they recorded in Niger state, PDP would have been a goner in Niger state”.

PoliticsRe: Goodluck Jonathan Should Scrap The Council Of State! by rasputinn(m): 9:35am On Jun 01, 2011
The council of state should be retained with the following modifications by the national assembly;

(1)Only democratically elected ex-presidents should be members
(2)Their resolutions should be offered to the president as mere advice and the president should not be obligated to implement any such advice/recommendation
(3)In line with what obtains in a true federalism, governors should henceforth not be members of that council, enough of all these jamborees that constitute drain pipes in our economy
FamilyRe: Wigwe (Beaten Ambassador's Wife): The Other Side Of The Story by rasputinn(m): 8:50am On Jun 01, 2011
I think there was a similar thread where the woman's side of the story was posted and almost all nairalanders that posted there condemned the man outrightly and advocated sundry punishment to be meted out to the man;some of the suggestions ranged from reasonable to absurd to outright stuupid, few of them had the good sense to ask the others to wait to hear the man's side of the story.

Now the man's side of the story is out and alas, all the omniscient nairalanders that rushed to that thread, purely on the strentgh of the wife's narrative, have not bothered to extend the same courtesy to the man

Personally I will not jump to any conclusions,I only hope the Kenyan police will do a thorough job and get to the truth in this matter and if the the man is found culpable, then let the woman press charges and I hope the man gets a very harsh sentencing,if on the other hand, the woman has not been truthful with her account of the incident, then shame on her
