I don't understand, are those having AC amongst the graduate trainee recruitment going on now? |
Morning bro, so you must have passed the Business awareness questionnaire before this AC stage.. Can you say if it was timed and around how many questions were they? Thanks Ibto1: |
Please I got the mail for the business awareness questionnaire. Can anyone give a rough idea of what to expect? Is it timed? How many questions? Any heads up would be appreciated especially from the AC people who must have passed this stage. Thanks |
pussyAvenger:obviously no organisation would accept the ID of another company. Did you use it for the AC |
rexnwaukwa:bro, you got that invite for may 4? I'm surprised there's no thread on nairaland for it. If you would like to chat send me a mail ( igweraymond@yahoo.com) and we could exchange contact. |
Tifalf14:hi could you also send that GMAT you have to me? I got an appitude test invite for 4th may. igweraymond@yahoo.com Thanks |
Make it all for yourself...will you?!!! BetterWorld100: |
I also want to share my experience for posterity sake and more importantly for the benefits of any stammer that would be thinking of the process and fretting about it like I was. I did mine on the 5th and was with the 16-32 batch. The group presentation came first, this was one of my top fear because it involved speaking very fast and speaking sense. Oh, I know how to speak sense but in my group, we timed ourselves so it was important you pass out your points quickly ( for a stammer, its not easy). My solution was to aim at speaking first, then I set the tone of the conversation and avoided the pressure of trying to speak better than the others. I did stammer still but most of the others that spoke buttressed my points so I still got referred to which I believe helps. Also it's important to keep a good body language - smile and nod when your peers are talking and take notes. My topic was 'building SMEs- challenges and how the government, central bank and commercial banks can proffer solutions' Then came the writing part. My writing skills are top notch so I had no problems here( my best part). My only worry is having not written more than the 600word limit (couldn't estimate due to time but I doubt it was more). The writing is based on the group discussion topic so the extra points of other group members would come in handy here if you jotted. The interview was supposed to be the part I would dread the most but interestingly, I had it better than other speaking parts. The ladies that accessed me were fantastic ( I explained to them at the start that I stammered just incase a part of what I say is inaudible,I would be happy to repeat), they tried to make me as calm as possible ( oh well ). Because this part was more like a conversation so each question required my answer regardless of the time I take, it helped me speak better. I got asked the question of ethics and I answered I had not experienced a situation like that but went on to say how I would likely react in that situation so it's important that even if you don't have the experience, you not keep quiet but say how you would likely react in that situation ( it works). Besides it's a graduate trainee role so we're not expected to have had so much experience.PowerPoint preparation, I aimed at making it simple and straightforward. Had only four slides - introduction, problems, solutions and opportunities for the bank but I forgot the title and conclusion pages because of time ( I thought our preparation time went so fast considering I am pretty good at PowerPoint). I feel I did good in the presentation part but with 10mins breathing down your neck, its never easy. I tried to keep eye contact with the assessors and the guy looked like I was blowing his mind. The other lady assessor mentioned it was good that I wasn't reading off my slides but she said I seemed too anxious ( well, 10mins madam ). Had so much to say in such short time. I didn't get asked any questions too( hopeful a good thing), I tried to make it as simple and understandable as I couldIn all, I thought the process was intense and I am hopeful if my stammering doesn't count so much against me. On the flip side, HCP should have done better with the refreshments (arghhhhhhh ). That could only have made the tummy rumble even more.Best wishes to the next batch. |
Any idea how long we might be waiting for? |
pussyAvenger:no, we there was no need to mention your name during the presentation or interview. You are given a tag which you wear at all times and it makes you identifiable during the presentation and interview. You can use any means of identification so far it carries your name and picture. They don't keep track of your ID so you could use the international passport for the AC and a drivers license for another stage. I used my driver's license for the test and international passport today. Hope I answered your question? |
. little wonder nobody says anything after the exercise. Those guys at the centre are like monitoring spirits over the thread. |
For those that did theirs at 7:30 in Lagos, did it begin at exactly that time? And accreditation an hour earlier? |
Thank you. I'll only like to know if the topics for the group discussion, essay and presentation are related or even same? I read there's an addendum given after the group work. Somemma13: |
Who can share the workforce past questions. I hear say their test no be here |
Opzyyy:mine is for 5th. I think it's people for Enugu that started today |
hopsydboi:I didn't know there was a WhatsApp group. Can you send me the link? |
Wait, is it just me or is this group oddly quiet considering we are preparing for a thorough assessment centre? Please how are you all preparing? I think the earliest batch I have seen is 29th. |
Anyone going from yaba area for 7:30 on 5th? |
Is there anyone going from yaba environs on the 5th of April, 7.30? God knows it's too early to start jostling for public buses, maybe we could arrange an Uber and share the cost? Anyone please hala plus we can prepare together before hand |

Lagos I just got for April 5th. Check your mails and spam folders too. |
dingbang:PowerPoint? Yes, I am proficient. But I stammer especially when I'm nervous, I hope that's not my undoing |
dingbang:yes, but I am yet to get the mail with the venue (Lagos). Can you confirm for us the pay during training and if we would be camped during the training school like the 2017 set? |
dingbang:hello brother, you work with first bank currently? Or you're also on this journey with us? |
Saimeritus:I don't think anyone has this information. But the last set were paid 43k and they had accommodation. Seems though that ours would be higher but there might be no accommodation. Hello scented, I won't know if you still work with first bank but can you assist us? |
Those that already got the invite with the venue and date, be kind enough to mention your test score so we know if it's according to the score. Has anyone received for Lagos or any other part aside Enugu? |
dzamaka:you should not lose hope. If I learned anything from reading through the 2016 thread, it is hope. There are many permutations that go into it like some people might not be available to attend then they have to contact others ( suppose that's the reason for the calling to confirm availability they are doing). So we should not give up hope until it's confirmed. |
The mail I received... Dear my full name, Further to your performance in the Aptitude Test for the 2019 FirstBank Graduate Trainee Programme, we are pleased to inform you that you have been short-listed for the next phase of the selection process. The exercise is scheduled to run in various locations over the next 2 weeks. You will receive a phone call confirming your attendance, and thereafter, a text message and an e-mail, containing the details of your specific schedule (venue, date and time). Please check your e-mail (Inbox, Spam and Junk folders) regularly. We wish you the best in your preparations. Best regards, FirstBank/HCP Graduate Recruitment team |
Those of us that got the success mails, would be handy to read through the 2016 thread. I made it easier, start from page 85 till about 130 they are related to the assessment centre test specifically. Would be nice to get familiar with the expectation and likely experience. https://www.nairaland.com/3426691/2016-firstbank-graduate-trainee-programme/149#61676430 |
Who knows when it closes? |
I also got the mail. Scored 58 |

I hope you know how to do a presentation in less than 20minutes.
