Wasn't paid twice, so I have no need to do such However, someone else who was earlier came out to say, he'd contacted them through their email and stuff. Others said he was a scam Not necessarily cos they didn't believe him IMO, the allure of cheating someone else was just too much for dem 2 resist. Chukeg: |
No problems with GTs, issue is with just those of you whose parents failed in their civic duty. Shame. number5: |
No point sounding sagacious if you'd only be speaking over d heads of your audience. Communication is giving it 2 dem in a way they can relate with it @ maximum impact. StephenEA: |
Being wise is knowing where to draw the line. Money that doesn't belong to you should NOT BE KEPT! - Thief There are no two ways to it, no ambiguity here, stop trying to make urself feel better by speaking English. - Thief You can advocate for confirmation of the correct account to refund the duplicate payments and go through official channels to achieve that, but don't try and sell the story of "I'm justified to keep another person's property because I don't trust anyone else to get it back to him/her" - Thief It is desperation for a turnaround from our criminally irresponsible, fraudulent mentality that's making others with better training to cry out for you people to be better versions of your present decadent selves. It is not sound reasoning to keep what doesn't belong to you, it is criminal reasoning. - Thief I repeat, you cannot be scammed out of what never was urs to keep anyways! If the source is unverified, take steps to verify it first, then refund the money. Don't just hide under the pretext of "there are many scammers in Nigeria, so unless NNPC officials visit my house, I won't refund" - Thief The fact that the reasonable expectations/thoughts of everyone who received these dual payments was that they were duplicates invalidates your self-gratifying arguments on whether it was a mistake or NNPC's deliberately sending double payments. Luck is not keeping what doesn't belong to you, that is dishonesty and fraud. - Thief cocococo: |
And the fact that you think anyone who acts above-board/better than you can only do so out of eye service is another sign of your training deficiencies.... The way we were trained, we don't need to be recognized before we do the right thing, you 2019 children are largely just plain morally bankrupt. number5: |
Mr. wrong and wrong That the money refunded will be misused by the wrong source is still not an excuse to keep what doesn't belong to you. It's like saying "I am a thief because if I don't steal stuff, someone else who wants to do evil with it will" At the end of the day u are still just a common, useless, dishonest, unconscionable, maladjusted, deviant T-H-I-E-F! There are better ways to be careful and make sure it's not a scammer at work (like sending an official email to NNPC like some did, calling their official line, engaging them on social media etc.) than keeping money that doesn't belong to you! Whoever trained you did a half-cocked job! Chukeg: |
How can you be "scammed" out of money that was never urs to begin with, I wonder? If it's naivety and the ppl who refunded were scammed, they haven't lost anything cos it wasn't theirs to begin with How can you not see that! Are we that useless in this country? Have our parents, trainers and guardians failed so woefully that 2019 children can no longer distinguish between right and wrong? Only smart words from TV Shows and sharp tongue from internet savagery, no character whatsoever. These are unrepentant thieves, masking as graduate trainee candidates! number5: |
Very funny, and smart. Still doesn't remove from the fact that it proves you have not an iota of integrity in you and you are a sad example of why people like Mompha and Invictus are idolized in our society when they should be lynched. Nigeria is where it is because most people in it are like you. Making mockery of those who stand for honesty and uprightness, who refuse to "assume" they've been favored above others and seek clarification when they see an obvious erroneous double payment, who take active steps and refund such, mocking them is outright madness (especially given the sad state Nigeria is presently in). Imagine it was Senators that got paid their annual remuneration twice and some returned it while others said, maybe we were supposed to be paid twice, ppl returning it are fools, what would u have said? cocococo: |
So na she no go enter towers abi? Ladyjane5657: |
Damn, she fine! Ladyjane5657: |
Why won't I wait pls? It's a better opportunity and a more senior role than I have now. martinsfm: |
Other institutes like CFE, CFA, CAIA etc. monitor the progress of their professionals as well.... The fact that you don't know this is on you, not me. Black11: |
If the APL comes out, I will get it. That's sure. It is not pride, if it is true. It's not so much that I am qualified as it is that there are few people in that field. I know because our professional association keeps a tight tab on each member. josescotch: |
Lolz bro, na God. Depending on ur qualifications/experience, it may be possible to recommend you for some investment analyst opening in a friend's firm. It's a startup and they are a bit unstructured, but they pay well. If u don't mind, drop ur CV on a google cloud account and send d link here.... For security purposes, U can create a new thread and put d password to the drive there and mention me there, so I can go check. iammiracle1: |
If I mention, it'll be that much easier to track jaiye4love: |
Lolz There are less than 15 of us in that field from my state.... About 70% of those are outside Nigeria. Dem too dey like to dey travel 4 dat our side 3 others who are based in Nigeria are way more experienced, they could never be applying for the same job role I am. Leaves just one person whose whereabouts I don't know. That's why I say as long as they will recruit two people, I'll be there. jaiye4love: |
Well, u don't see me arguing with any of your below assertions, do you? How is it a bone of contention that I know my job role is usually one with the fewest candidates in any open recruitment, based on trends and professional regulations? Why is it so painful to you that I say I have the upper hand over the few other applicants that exist? Doesn't matter how much you do not like it, if it is true, it is still true By the way, childish or not, it's the truth. I'll show u my APL if they ever conclude this exercise... ![]() jaiye4love: |
Since way back...... 64446: |
Lolz.... Not happening. I said earlier, I have EARNED the bonus, unless I resign without the contractual 3-month notice period, I'll be paid. Dbowline: |
A combination of grades, certifications, experience and specialty. Also experience and trend so far has supported this conclusion I actually studied a rather common course for my 1st degree with an MBA from UNILAG Applied for EH of course. joobseekar: |
Let's just say others that applied would probably have just done so speculatively. Any professional member knows the specific number of ppl with similar qualification in Nigeria and their exact job placement in the last 6 - 12 months. Jarrow: |
Lolz....I know it sounds impossible, but that's a benefit of graduating early. You can work for up to 5 years and still be applying for entry level positions. For me, as long as the exposure, responsibility and pay was better than my existing level, I could apply to any role, since I still met the age criteria even though I was already an experienced hire. I was interested in Standard Chartered's Int'l Graduate Programme for a Treasury role, cos they pay them profit sharing and bonuses in dollars, and plenty of travel opportunities too. FBN was recruiting for GTs with 3 years experience then that they'd promote to AMs after a 2-year training, an AM in FBN is probably better than a full bank manager in banks like Sterling, Fidelity, Unity, Union etc. at least back then. So it was a great opportunity. Think they later cancelled the programme. I'm not arguing that ppl with 10 years cognate experience are not below regret mail, but as long as NNPC will be recruiting up to 2 people for the role I applied in this Oil and Gas oh, I'll be there. That is a sure banker! Taking all those bonus losses, jumping from one industry to the other, it's just so I will be in a position where I'd have my pick of jobs later. adeakin777: |
Whatever happens in this life will hamper some and favour some The fact that you are alive and occupying the space you are/using up the resources you are is hampering some people from prospering in their own corner. If you want to live ur life fretting over what ur every wish might portend for others, you might as well just give up now. Thanks. Gbyms: |
I do actually.... I suspect it'll take at least a year after resumption before one can earn those upfront and co. payments... I have moved too many times in the past 5 years in and out of the industry and lost so much in accrued bonuses/severance to ignore this one again abeg. If NNPC comes b4 Jan/Feb, it'll be hard, but I'll probably move. If not, double testimony! Mlayidi: |
As sure as you are....maybe surer than you even. My job role has very few professionals in Nigeria/Oil and Gas, the last job I took up with Oando, I was the only finalist for that job role out of hundreds of thousands who wrote the test, whereas other areas like HSE, Finance, Business Development etc. had scores of people remaining. Very few people more qualified than I am professionally will apply to NNPC. It's only interesting to me because I just hit the number of years needed to apply for a more snr level than I am now in the industry. My interview went very well. As long as they will recruit up to 2 people for that role, I'll be there. Aremolomi: |
Okay So I should wish to lose millions in due bonuses because I don't want to b selfish? Sorry, I am very selfish and I'm proud of it oh! Scott09: |
Honestly, I'd like for this recruitment to be concluded by next year February so I can earn my productivity bonuses and profit sharing for this year @ d current company b4 going to chop upfront |
Greetings to the LOMS gang from our darling company McKinsey!!! 2019-young-leaders-program-recruitment-at-mckinsey-company |
So all these sad, negative, stale, useless and baseless comments on contract staff protest, contacting NNPC, confidential sources, info restriction, connections, recruitment cancellation bla bla bla..... are the "mature updates" u ppl have been screaming u wanted since, abusing LAdyjane and Chasteguy for derailing? Just coming here to drop stupid info with absolutely no credibility and attributing to a fictitious "source" is ur idea of not derailing the thread? Since July, we have had more than 20 different theories/updates on APL from different verified/trusted sources and none of them have made any difference in bringing the APL date closer, and instead of you people to shut up, ignore the thread and look for ways of livening up ur forlorn existence and wean off Lyour pitiable dependence on NNPC APL, you chose to redirect your hopelessness onto ppl catching their fun while waiting? It's very funny and sad at the same time. |
