Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by RayOB1: 4:45pm On Nov 12, 2019
Wasn't paid twice, so I have no need to do such
However, someone else who was earlier came out to say, he'd contacted them through their email and stuff. Others said he was a scam
Not necessarily cos they didn't believe him IMO, the allure of cheating someone else was just too much for dem 2 resist.

Chukeg:
Now you re welcome to our point of view. So Have you been able to communicate with NNPC through any official channels (mail, twitter etc) and they said you should make a refund? Don't tell me it's that SMS you people received where some are bulk SMS and some are private number o.? This exactly why is I said you should wise up

No point sounding sagacious if you'd only be speaking over d heads of your audience.
Communication is giving it 2 dem in a way they can relate with it @ maximum impact.

Sir, -permit me, you sound both elderly and childish. I support your point of view, but, you should learn to give
your opinions maturely. I didn't insult you, so don't feel insulted.

Being wise is knowing where to draw the line. Money that doesn't belong to you should NOT BE KEPT! - Thief

There are no two ways to it, no ambiguity here, stop trying to make urself feel better by speaking English. - Thief

You can advocate for confirmation of the correct account to refund the duplicate payments and go through official channels to achieve that, but don't try and sell the story of "I'm justified to keep another person's property because I don't trust anyone else to get it back to him/her" - Thief

It is desperation for a turnaround from our criminally irresponsible, fraudulent mentality that's making others with better training to cry out for you people to be better versions of your present decadent selves. It is not sound reasoning to keep what doesn't belong to you, it is criminal reasoning. - Thief

I repeat, you cannot be scammed out of what never was urs to keep anyways! If the source is unverified, take steps to verify it first, then refund the money. Don't just hide under the pretext of "there are many scammers in Nigeria, so unless NNPC officials visit my house, I won't refund" - Thief

The fact that the reasonable expectations/thoughts of everyone who received these dual payments was that they were duplicates invalidates your self-gratifying arguments on whether it was a mistake or NNPC's deliberately sending double payments. Luck is not keeping what doesn't belong to you, that is dishonesty and fraud. - Thief

cocococo:
This is not about right or wrong. It’s about being wise. Whether you returned money or not, both options are neither right nor wrong, and nobody should be praised for hurriedly returning money to a source that was not confirmed. Is it because of the desperation for job that people are becoming saints overnight at the expense of sound reasoning? Are we not Nigerians again—who are used to seeing 419 schemes here and there? How can you return money sent to an unverified source, and you keep defending that even if you were scammed, you did the right thing?

As for the payment, there is what we call luck. The fact that you didn’t work for some money or you didn't deserve some money does not mean you shouldn't keep the money. People were lucky to receive double payments and triple payments, and this is how life generally is. No applicant deliberately scammed people of their money; the money simply came to them from NNPC who promised to send transport allowance. Whether it would be a one-time or multiple payment was not mentioned.

For people like Dangote and Otedola, do you know how much luck and easy money that came their way? So you think Dangote would have returned any easy money he received in this life, saying he did not work for it and it shouldn’t be his money? I understand people are trying to form saints here, but it is getting to the level of foolishness. Even if NNPC made mistake, was there a general SMS or email to all applicants that those paid excess should follow a procedure to return any money? Before now, all of NNPC’s messages to all applicants were both SMS and email. So why do you think NNPC will just contact only a few of the people paid extra, via only SMS, and ask them to return money? People need think before they do anything. I will say it again; even if NNPC found out that they overpaid some people, don’t you think an organized establishment like NNPC could have counted their loss and moved on? As far as I am concerned, the administration of the NNPC did not issue any directive for people to return money. Opportunists(whether they are private individuals or even NNPC staff, I don’t care) used this chance to scam people. People need to apply wisdom in life. No matter how insignificant the money may be to you, you should not help fraudsters achieve their goal. Any other bullshit comments supporting returning money to scammers will have their nairaland account suspended by me. wink grin

And the fact that you think anyone who acts above-board/better than you can only do so out of eye service is another sign of your training deficiencies....

The way we were trained, we don't need to be recognized before we do the right thing, you 2019 children are largely just plain morally bankrupt.

number5:
TRASH
Typed one long reply like that but deleated.. This kind of eye service mentality you have is the home training you want Nigerian parents to give their children..

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by RayOB1: 1:41pm On Nov 12, 2019
Mr. wrong and wrong

That the money refunded will be misused by the wrong source is still not an excuse to keep what doesn't belong to you. It's like saying "I am a thief because if I don't steal stuff, someone else who wants to do evil with it will" At the end of the day u are still just a common, useless, dishonest, unconscionable, maladjusted, deviant T-H-I-E-F!

There are better ways to be careful and make sure it's not a scammer at work (like sending an official email to NNPC like some did, calling their official line, engaging them on social media etc.) than keeping money that doesn't belong to you!

Whoever trained you did a half-cocked job!

Chukeg:
Mr right and wrong, hope the money you refunded got to the right source. That's the main coco. That it may not be your money doesn't mean you should send it to scammers. Thank you for telling us your parents trained you very well and rest persons trying to be careful their parents didn't train them very well.

As a matter of fact it will very wrong for you send money that doesn't belong to you to someone whom the money doesn't belong to either.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by RayOB1: 10:05am On Nov 12, 2019
How can you be "scammed" out of money that was never urs to begin with, I wonder?
If it's naivety and the ppl who refunded were scammed, they haven't lost anything cos it wasn't theirs to begin with

How can you not see that!

Are we that useless in this country?
Have our parents, trainers and guardians failed so woefully that 2019 children can no longer distinguish between right and wrong?

Only smart words from TV Shows and sharp tongue from internet savagery, no character whatsoever.

These are unrepentant thieves, masking as graduate trainee candidates!

number5:
As you are doing the right thing sir, apply wisdom and don't act Naive in the name of 'doing the right thing'. Wisdom is profitable to direct. I wouldnt want to bring up the double tfare refund issue up again, not to be flogging a dead horse, else would have asked you to show me exactly were NNPC officially told you and others that the second and third tfare reimbursement was a mistake. Quit putting your emotions in fore when making judgements, shine your eyes brother.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by RayOB1: 10:00am On Nov 12, 2019
Very funny, and smart.

Still doesn't remove from the fact that it proves you have not an iota of integrity in you and you are a sad example of why people like Mompha and Invictus are idolized in our society when they should be lynched. Nigeria is where it is because most people in it are like you.

Making mockery of those who stand for honesty and uprightness, who refuse to "assume" they've been favored above others and seek clarification when they see an obvious erroneous double payment, who take active steps and refund such, mocking them is outright madness (especially given the sad state Nigeria is presently in).

Imagine it was Senators that got paid their annual remuneration twice and some returned it while others said, maybe we were supposed to be paid twice, ppl returning it are fools, what would u have said?

cocococo:
End of my story. grin

If the APL comes out, I will get it. That's sure. It is not pride, if it is true.

It's not so much that I am qualified as it is that there are few people in that field. I know because our professional association keeps a tight tab on each member.

josescotch:
@rayob1 well done on ur confidence, I hope u get d apl; but remember that pride goeth before a fall. If u bragged so much about being so qualified, one would only wonder what u'd do if u were kyari's son, prolly worse than ur doi g now.

@jaiye4love he really s entitled to his own opinion, I don't think it always has to b in everyone's favour. Na em get em mouth, f em lik ake em use am chop shit..

Lolz bro, na God.

Depending on ur qualifications/experience, it may be possible to recommend you for some investment analyst opening in a friend's firm. It's a startup and they are a bit unstructured, but they pay well.

If u don't mind, drop ur CV on a google cloud account and send d link here....
For security purposes, U can create a new thread and put d password to the drive there and mention me there, so I can go check.

jaiye4love:
Anyway, I wish you well in your dream...Any qualification you have that you can't mention is not meant for NNPC,sorry to tell you this...Its only God who gives upper hand, that I'm sure of
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by RayOB1: 8:27pm On Sep 23, 2019
Lolz

There are less than 15 of us in that field from my state....

About 70% of those are outside Nigeria. Dem too dey like to dey travel 4 dat our side grin grin grin

3 others who are based in Nigeria are way more experienced, they could never be applying for the same job role I am.

Leaves just one person whose whereabouts I don't know. That's why I say as long as they will recruit two people, I'll be there.

jaiye4love:
Okay sir, since you are already the GMD...I am waiting to see your APL, and that is if you ever scale above the cut off set for the most qualified in your State/LGA
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by RayOB1: 7:47pm On Sep 23, 2019
Well, u don't see me arguing with any of your below assertions, do you?

How is it a bone of contention that I know my job role is usually one with the fewest candidates in any open recruitment, based on trends and professional regulations?

Why is it so painful to you that I say I have the upper hand over the few other applicants that exist? Doesn't matter how much you do not like it, if it is true, it is still true

By the way, childish or not, it's the truth. I'll show u my APL if they ever conclude this exercise... grin grin grin

jaiye4love:
He is childish and @ Iyajelili is right for saying that. Please how did he know that he is most qualified and he read a course people has not read in Nigeria? He has MBA and so what? I hold MBA too and I'm a chaterred banker and chattered insurance professional ,I'm also a member of NIM and I applied for a supervisory role too. Besides I am currently a country director for the Nigeria operations of an oil servicing firm which is HQrd in Germany. So what else can you say about this. Pls that guy should keep quite!

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by RayOB1: 3:40pm On Sep 23, 2019
A combination of grades, certifications, experience and specialty. Also experience and trend so far has supported this conclusion

I actually studied a rather common course for my 1st degree with an MBA from UNILAG

Applied for EH of course.

joobseekar:
Did you apply for GT role or EH role?

If it's EH, is it that you studied "a rare to come by course" or it's through certifications you've obtained, that makes you believed the job role you applied for, will be less competitive, and you'll always be top 2, regardless of other factors considered?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by RayOB1: 2:43pm On Sep 23, 2019
Let's just say others that applied would probably have just done so speculatively.

Any professional member knows the specific number of ppl with similar qualification in Nigeria and their exact job placement in the last 6 - 12 months.

Jarrow:
I like to believe you're right about the dearth of qualified professionals in your field and role applied for. Perhaps there are some peculiar roles to which no one applied or no candidate showed up for the interview. But you may never be too sure man. Make your omniscience no shock you when further details surface
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by RayOB1: 2:39pm On Sep 23, 2019
Lolz....I know it sounds impossible, but that's a benefit of graduating early. You can work for up to 5 years and still be applying for entry level positions.

For me, as long as the exposure, responsibility and pay was better than my existing level, I could apply to any role, since I still met the age criteria even though I was already an experienced hire.

I was interested in Standard Chartered's Int'l Graduate Programme for a Treasury role, cos they pay them profit sharing and bonuses in dollars, and plenty of travel opportunities too.

FBN was recruiting for GTs with 3 years experience then that they'd promote to AMs after a 2-year training, an AM in FBN is probably better than a full bank manager in banks like Sterling, Fidelity, Unity, Union etc. at least back then. So it was a great opportunity. Think they later cancelled the programme.

I'm not arguing that ppl with 10 years cognate experience are not below regret mail, but as long as NNPC will be recruiting up to 2 people for the role I applied in this Oil and Gas oh, I'll be there. That is a sure banker!

Taking all those bonus losses, jumping from one industry to the other, it's just so I will be in a position where I'd have my pick of jobs later.

adeakin777:
There are people with over 10 years of cognate O&G experience that humbly posit that no one is above regret mail and then there are some persons who applied for graduate recruitment job vacancies as recent as 2017(like this guy) that are certain of APL even in the current spate of unsavory news filtering through.

You can brag about all you expected earnings or your flawed level of experience(minimum of 6 years is required for EH for this recruitment) or APL. But, Be humble!

What a thread!

Whatever happens in this life will hamper some and favour some

The fact that you are alive and occupying the space you are/using up the resources you are is hampering some people from prospering in their own corner. If you want to live ur life fretting over what ur every wish might portend for others, you might as well just give up now.

Thanks.

Gbyms:
Mosgoon?
What’s important is that you believe in yourself. You are free to wish whatever. It’s a free world. So far your wish doesn’t hamper others.
Thread with caution on forums like this. It might not be as faceless as you think.
Thanks.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by RayOB1: 2:00pm On Sep 23, 2019
I do actually.... I suspect it'll take at least a year after resumption before one can earn those upfront and co. payments...

I have moved too many times in the past 5 years in and out of the industry and lost so much in accrued bonuses/severance to ignore this one again abeg.

If NNPC comes b4 Jan/Feb, it'll be hard, but I'll probably move. If not, double testimony!

Mlayidi:
You don't know what u are saying.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Apply For 2019 NNPC Graduate Trainee And Experience Hire by RayOB1: 1:57pm On Sep 23, 2019
As sure as you are....maybe surer than you even.

My job role has very few professionals in Nigeria/Oil and Gas, the last job I took up with Oando, I was the only finalist for that job role out of hundreds of thousands who wrote the test, whereas other areas like HSE, Finance, Business Development etc. had scores of people remaining.

Very few people more qualified than I am professionally will apply to NNPC. It's only interesting to me because I just hit the number of years needed to apply for a more snr level than I am now in the industry.

My interview went very well.

As long as they will recruit up to 2 people for that role, I'll be there.

Aremolomi:
How sure are u to that you will make the list.

Selfish.....

So all these sad, negative, stale, useless and baseless comments on contract staff protest, contacting NNPC, confidential sources, info restriction, connections, recruitment cancellation bla bla bla..... are the "mature updates" u ppl have been screaming u wanted since, abusing LAdyjane and Chasteguy for derailing?

Just coming here to drop stupid info with absolutely no credibility and attributing to a fictitious "source" is ur idea of not derailing the thread?

Since July, we have had more than 20 different theories/updates on APL from different verified/trusted sources and none of them have made any difference in bringing the APL date closer, and instead of you people to shut up, ignore the thread and look for ways of livening up ur forlorn existence and wean off Lyour pitiable dependence on NNPC APL, you chose to redirect your hopelessness onto ppl catching their fun while waiting?

It's very funny and sad at the same time.
