However, someone else who was earlier came out to say, he'd contacted them through their email and stuff. Others said he was a scam

The fact that the reasonable expectations/thoughts of everyone who received these dual payments was that they were duplicates invalidates your self-gratifying arguments on whether it was a mistake or NNPC's deliberately sending double payments. For people like Dangote and Otedola, do you know how much luck and easy money that came their way? So you think Dangote would have returned any easy money he received in this life, saying he did not work for it and it shouldn’t be his money? I understand people are trying to form saints here, but it is getting to the level of foolishness. Even if NNPC made mistake, was there a general SMS or email to all applicants that those paid excess should follow a procedure to return any money? Before now, all of NNPC’s messages to all applicants were both SMS and email. So why do you think NNPC will just contact only a few of the people paid extra, via only SMS, and ask them to return money? People need think before they do anything. I will say it again; even if NNPC found out that they overpaid some people, don’t you think an organized establishment like NNPC could have counted their loss and moved on? As far as I am concerned, the administration of the NNPC did not issue any directive for people to return money. Opportunists(whether they are private individuals or even NNPC staff, I don’t care) used this chance to scam people. People need to apply wisdom in life. No matter how insignificant the money may be to you, you should not help fraudsters achieve their goal. Any other bullshit comments supporting returning money to scammers will have their nairaland account suspended by me.

And the fact that you think anyone who acts above-board/better than you can only do so out of eye service is another sign of your training deficiencies....

The way we were trained, we don't need to be recognized before we do the right thing, you 2019 children are largely just plain morally bankrupt.

That the money refunded will be misused by the wrong source is still not an excuse to keep what doesn't belong to you. It's like saying "I am a thief because if I don't steal stuff, someone else who wants to do evil with it will" At the end of the day u are still just a common, useless, dishonest, unconscionable, maladjusted, deviant T-H-I-E-F!

There are better ways to be careful and make sure it's not a scammer at work (like sending an official email to NNPC like some did, calling their official line, engaging them on social media etc.) than keeping money that doesn't belong to you!

About 70% of those are outside Nigeria. Dem too dey like to dey travel 4 dat our side

3 others who are based in Nigeria are way more experienced, they could never be applying for the same job role I am.

Leaves just one person whose whereabouts I don't know. That's why I say as long as they will recruit two people, I'll be there.

Any professional member knows the specific number of ppl with similar qualification in Nigeria and their exact job placement in the last 6 - 12 months.

Lolz....I know it sounds impossible, but that's a benefit of graduating early. You can work for up to 5 years and still be applying for entry level positions.

For me, as long as the exposure, responsibility and pay was better than my existing level, I could apply to any role, since I still met the age criteria even though I was already an experienced hire.

I was interested in Standard Chartered's Int'l Graduate Programme for a Treasury role, cos they pay them profit sharing and bonuses in dollars, and plenty of travel opportunities too.

FBN was recruiting for GTs with 3 years experience then that they'd promote to AMs after a 2-year training, an AM in FBN is probably better than a full bank manager in banks like Sterling, Fidelity, Unity, Union etc. at least back then. So it was a great opportunity. Think they later cancelled the programme.

I'm not arguing that ppl with 10 years cognate experience are not below regret mail, but as long as NNPC will be recruiting up to 2 people for the role I applied in this Oil and Gas oh, I'll be there. That is a sure banker!

Taking all those bonus losses, jumping from one industry to the other, it's just so I will be in a position where I'd have my pick of jobs later.

There are people with over 10 years of cognate O&G experience that humbly posit that no one is above regret mail and then there are some persons who applied for graduate recruitment job vacancies as recent as 2017(like this guy) that are certain of APL even in the current spate of unsavory news filtering through.

You can brag about all you expected earnings or your flawed level of experience(minimum of 6 years is required for EH for this recruitment) or APL. But, Be humble!

I have moved too many times in the past 5 years in and out of the industry and lost so much in accrued bonuses/severance to ignore this one again abeg.

If NNPC comes b4 Jan/Feb, it'll be hard, but I'll probably move. If not, double testimony!

My job role has very few professionals in Nigeria/Oil and Gas, the last job I took up with Oando, I was the only finalist for that job role out of hundreds of thousands who wrote the test, whereas other areas like HSE, Finance, Business Development etc. had scores of people remaining.

Very few people more qualified than I am professionally will apply to NNPC. It's only interesting to me because I just hit the number of years needed to apply for a more snr level than I am now in the industry.

My interview went very well.

As long as they will recruit up to 2 people for that role, I'll be there.
