How do I calculate 182 days treasury bills
Someone should assist
For instance if I’m to invest 2m

Principal * rate*time =interest

Principal is 2m
Time is 182 divided by 365 which is 0.4986
Rate wasn't stated so we take 12% whiçh is 12 divided by 100 which is 0.12

Interest is 2m*0.4986*0.12=119,664

The last meeting of MTN was an EGM for shareholders to give approval for the cancellation of their unissued shares. AGM will come up later this year after the audited result is released no later than 31st March 2023. Then shareholders can now be expecting dividends around that late April or May.

Meanwhile, if you hold your public offer shares you bought till the end of January which makes it a year or so after the offer, it was assured during the meeting that the bonus shares promised will be credited to your cscs account. But remember it's not instant. So long you qualify just wait after all regulatory protocols it will be credited.

Thanks boss.

Dividends are paid around May

Thanks master and welcome back, the fold missed you.

Was thinking it's twice a year for them. But we were promised extra shares after holding for a year, any news about the bonus shares.

The useless Tbills is more certain than the gambling in dollar, the reverse might be the case. The dollar is weaker as at today, it's only deemed strong when compared to a weaker currency like ours.

Tbills is a secured investment, better than not investing at all. If I want to take risk, I will take a far better risk like I did last time.

Dangote refinery is completed 100% and has started recruiting. It will not only impact Nigeria but also cut Ghana's fuel imports.

Looks like a lot of people are relying on that refinery o. wink

Dangote that is begging for 300b as I type via bond. Refinery is still far away. For interested folks, the bond closes tomorrow 7th, I guess that should be the 2nd this year. Rate is above 15%

Great investors in the building.
I greet you all.

Please what is the minimum amount of money I can invest in treasury bills?

I have 4 million naira and I want to put it there for now.

Am I good to go?

List banks you have account or go to Stanbic.

Also please recommend a bank I can use.

I hope I'm not asking too much.

Thanks.

If they do, our own dollar would still reflect our economy and not that of the US in terms of value.

Leadership failure and greed of the ruling class are the bane of the Nigerian economy.

Rather, followership failure is the problem. leaders are reflection of who they lead. leaders are few that gets power from plenty followers. Its election season, followers will elect their best fits and turn around to complain from 2023 to 2027 when they will recruit another bunch of misfits to represent them and continue the complain.

The non investor has the flexibility to mutate to a favorable investment of better value while the investor in TB is trapped until the tenor matures..

What do you think sells at secondary market? Tbills that can't wait to maturity.

The basis of the argument is that we all have expenses in dollars. Your phone, clothes, Tv, laptop are not made in Nigeria. I could have bought a phone last year but I invested the money in Naira to grow it.
Now, the capital + returns are not enough to purchase the same phone even though my money has increased in Naira terms.
The aim of saving is to preserve wealth for future needs/wants. Naira has failed to retain value and most people now are skeptical of holding it as a store their wealth.
The wealth of the world is calculated in USD not Naira. As currency for world trade, wealth is calculated and expressed in USD. If you only held Naira, then your money is has lost value commensurate with the fall in Naira value.

But it's unfair to use the illegal exchange to compare. Naira has been fairly stable if you have legit deals, go through the banks. Exchange at about 400.

He was right. Stop rate gives max rate for that bidding. If you bid within the range, you get what you asked for but if outside range your bid is deemed failed and your money returned to you. That's the reason different banks get different rates on same auction.

If you have 50m and above, you can place your bid independently from the bank, if within range then you get exact what you asked for.

Thanks for reading my submission though not professional.

Risk of default.
The company goes out of business
Both are unlikely but still possible.

I will only invest in a secured CP hence the ratings accompanying the adverts. I think amount is based on value of company or assets on ground that can be liquidated to pay off.
Experts should please explain further, thanks
