Can anybody explain what's going on, getting unsolicited debits from the bank even when I don't have funds so it's leaving me with negative balance. Once money drops, they deduct. Still at over -300k.

Your best bet is to invest in a Eurobond and invest the returns into a dollar mutual fund. Alternatively, continually invest in a dollar mutual fund and compound the returns.

I think its vetted before allowed to float and I still guess there are certain parameters used to arrive at the value they sort.

Mainly, the company must have assets it can liquidate to pay off if shit happens.

I don’t quite agree. N500m looks like a lot of money but it is actually less than 500k dollars. Imagine someone that worked hard to make 500m when it was still a lot of money ( 5m dollars at 100naira) and then stupidly kept the money in a fixed deposit or t bills to be making 10%. He has just watched his hard earned money go from 5m to 500k dollars and possibly 50k dollars in a few years.

Go and read about countries with hyperinflation and you be will understand that planning to live on interest is a very stupid man’s way of looking at money

I am "stupid", no change in plan after reading this, it's unwise to criticise a "stupid" person without providing a sensible alternative making you look stupid.

If I get 500m at 60years, I have about 30 or 40 years to live, kids are done, house in my village is certain, all I am after is my satisfactory retirement life with my fellow villagers.

I need to be changing cars at least every 5yrs, my only worry is feeding and charity which is a function of what remains after taking care of my needs.

Look at me and say that 5m a month wouldn't feed me in next 30years.

I have tried to post twice about the SUKUK VI but couldn't because I was attaching a document from the DMO.

SUKUK VI was over Subscribed. They offered N150 Billion but it was subscribed for about N652.827 Billion. So they have decided to allocate N350 Billion to their diverse subscribers. I don't know how they intend to do it, not stated there but the N350 Billion could be collated either on pro rata basis for all or the retail investors could given priority and what's left distributed to the institutional investors as usual.

On the part of the issuer, that's excess of about N200 Billion. I just hope it is well utilised and not squandered/looted.

On the part of the investors, it would be disappointing for some who might have pooled out funds from other existing investments for that purpose.

I don't know what's keeping the agents/arrangers/banks and investment houses from Informing their customers of the out come.

Too much money in this country.

Real sector not stable for investment so everybody is comfortable with the only one that's stable though depreciating, imagine all that surplus chasing dollars now, no change soon. We will keep going down until govt start respecting it's laws by respecting court judgement.
