Joysa: I hail all d mamas in d house o..the pushing, the new bfps & d vigilantes. These days I feel soo heavy ehnn #teamMay.. already counting down
I get question concerning a close friend of mine, abeg make una help me torchlight dis matter..
She is about 6 months pregnant (due in June), her father just died unexpectedly at 64 after a brief illness & d burial has been fixed for early April. Issue is that she lives in PH & d burial wil b held in Lagos. Also, she's from a yoruba polygamous home (from d 1st wife) where they don't relate with each other as there's so much hidden animosity & 'spiritual' undertones. Some of d children don't even know each other She's confused whether to go or not. I advised her not to go, pls what do u think? How are you doing dear? Kindly tell her not to go as the husband can attend on her behalf. @tchiwinne its 4hrs |

Travel › Scammers On Benin/ore Road by rchilee(op): 12:05pm On Feb 28, 2016 |
Noticed on 2different occasions that I travelled on this road grown up men pointing to our tyre. ..not 2,3 or 4guys. First time I was scared but my hubby told me he would know from the steering if the tyre is flat and more so, he was driving tubeless.
I will like to sensitize people driving along that road to be careful, do not panic and if you see them pointing to your tyre .....do not stop until you are close to a safe place cos if you do, they will pour engine oil on your rim(without you seeing it) and they will "repair" it for you. |

LegitDiva: Dear mama's pls I have an urgent question.. we rushed my son back to the hospital after discovering he had jaundice 18.5 level. His temperature was abt 38.9 deg.
Now the doctors put him on phototherapy and started treating malaria. Now the test results are out and we found he doesn't have any trace of malaria in his system but the doctors are insisting that he completes d IV dosage (artesunate).... I don't think it's proper, pls experienced mama's help me reason dis cos I can't bear to have dem inject unnecessary drugs into his tender 5 days old system.
CC Modath Nursekaffy He will be fine by HIS grace. We had the same issue too @3-4weeks of birth n completed the dose in 3days or thereabouts before we were discharged. They ran the tests again for jaundice before we left |

faithisallihave: rchilee, hi! I have some questions, pls. You ported from Feb 2016 to Dec 2015, just like me. My DD also born at 34 weeks is so tiny, everyone is usually surprised when they learn she is as old as she is. She is just 2.8 kg. It breaks my heart. She looks like a day old baby. If you don't mind me asking, are you exclusively breastfeeding or supplementing with formula? Is there anything I can do to help her gain more? I feel like a failure. She is an iugr baby born at 2.2 kg and i'm very slim. I don't know if that is a contributing factor to her slow weight gain. Good morning dear, sorry I am just seeing this. Yes, gave birth at 35weeks or there about. She weighed 2.8kg at birth. At 6weeks immunization she weighed 4.2kg and 4.7kg currently. Yes, I am on ebf. We had ourchallenges at first. I wasn't lactating well and baby would suck for few minutes. But after enough rest, good food I started lactating. I feed almost every time. Like every 2hours even at midnight I set alarm. At first my mother n MIL insisted I should let her sleep rather than feeding but I will carry her and feed. Guess I can't overfeed her; if she doesnt want she will NOT SUCK. I didn't give room for her to cry before feeding. After I started using breastfeeding pilliow, she will rest well and suck very well for like 30mins or more. She will practically empty the breast and am NOT giving her formula yet. Guess you should check if she is actually feeding well. How many nappy do you use per day? We use like 8-10. Does she have 'dimples' already or do you hear some sounds if she is sucking? If yes, then she is not getting enough milk. after each feeds, does your breast feel light if you "carry" it. @sabi mamas Please I noticed a blue dot on my DD tongue with white coat...am suspecting thrush...should i watch her or take her to hospital? |
Family › Re: What Can I Do To Let My Wife Wake Up Early? by rchilee: 7:58am On Feb 12, 2016 |
netizenbuzz: and this your question annoyed me sha. what is your business with when your wife wakes up? let me guess......so that she can attend to every of your needs early abi? And you think a virtuous woman should be up before 6:00am? If that is your definition of a virtuous woman then I think you are the problem not her. When the purpose of a thing is unknown, abuse is imminent. Is there a logical reason for her to be up before 6:00am? Like work? Or kids going to school? No? Then you have no point dear. That you can do it, or that other women can do it doesn't mean she should do it. She is not you and she is not them. And it does not mean she is not well-brought up. Leave her alone and stop trying to shape her into what you think is a virtuous woman. Is she hardworking, soft-spoken, God-fearing, decent, humble, etc...? Now that is what makes a virtuous woman. I always wondered why they sweep every morning in Nigerian homes when the house is clearly not dirty, I mean, you swept yesterday and even when something spilled, you swept it immediately. Why sweep a house that is not dirty just to create more chores for yourself? I was get a reply of it is how it is done or something along that line.....mtchew. I even thought you wanted to say she wakes up by 10:00am. mtchew! Lol @ the sweeping part. @op If you reside in Ikorodu she works on the island then I can see that as a justification for waking up @4am Meanwhile probably you are not aware, Christians can pray anytime unlike Muslims. If she does everything expected of her once she is up at 6am, then you've got no problem. By the way, what does she do for living? |

zaynie: Mamas using Iya Abiye abi church abi alagbo delivery things. Please lets be careful. My nurse friend just gave me gist of how a HIV positive mother who was attending their ANC absconded (lol) and instead went to deliver at iya alagbo. Only God knows if they did the appropriate tests or even took necessary precautions esp knowing that these people do not usually believe that HIV is real.
The woman sef do herself, I am sure out of shame she will put her baby to breast so as not to alert people. At the last ante natal visit I had, I learnt an HIV mother can breastfeed for a year...exclusive breastfeeding! She must NOT give water to the baby at any point whatsoever. |

There is nothing at oil mill market...I got my stuffs at Momsi (along artillery), Goshen baby shop (market jinction) & another shop beside First Rivers hospital but it all depends on your budget cos stuffs I got are expensive. A colleague suggested Aba, if you have the strength you can go. |
