CheerfulGiver: If you have been paying attention and were comfortably grossing 30k daily on Indriver, your new daily target is 45k. You're basically doing same number of trips but re-strategize to 3k for 30 mins trips and 5-6k for 1hr trips. Anything less, rejecto. Bro I remember we have discussed this here before, and my opinion was that taking a trip on Indriver/Rida shouldn't be placed solely on time to complete the trip. The distance to be covered has to be factored in too. For me it's even the first thing I consider then duration (time). Before 488, it has always been 5k at least for 1hr with maximum distance of 30km. Early morning, you can do Sangotedo to Airport in 1hr, that's a 55km+ trip. Would you jump on that for 6k even at 185/ltr? Not to talk of now at 488/ltr. My average price for VI from Sangotedo is 4200 if road is free, with traffic it's from 6k. Right now until I work with the new pump price, I can't say this is the ideal price in order not to run at loss. I just got 15k worth of fuel this evening, I'll work with that tomorrow and see how far. |

Itsrm: God knows I've always admired these cars but fear no dey gree me buy them.
I mean, forget about getting the parts in Nigeria. You have to always import. Sometimes they use special tools for something as simple as changing spark plugs. To get good hands to repair it is also a problem.
If I ever make up my mind to buy it, will just buy two. One to harvest for parts and the other to be driven. German cars manufacturers are known for overengineering, they are strong and takes time to breakdown but the expertise to handle them is the major challenge. You are very correct about the special tool for changing spark plugs, even to bleed the cooling system is not straightforward. Good thing is that the parts that are available are quality. |

Gentlelife50: Abgola Gomez, ShopRite and just this small distance indriver gave you this amount? Indriver na baba, I was ordering for a ride last night, bolt was unavailable though the price was 1k plus, check indriver and it was giving me almost 3k from novare mall to floodgate Estate. Baba na wetin make me take the offer be that. I didn't even bid higher than what was shown. I drove from Awoyaya to go pick her. Immediately she entered, she said she needed waste bin bags that's why she's going to Shoprite, I told not to worry, I'll take to another place that will be faster. After we got to Amity, she said I should give her 5mins and take her back to Agboola Gomez. Naso I kuku round up everything to 6k for her. Ahh Novare to Floodgates at 3k high o. It's obvious indrive as codedly increased price. |

The only problem I have with Indrive, their support will be worst than Bolt with time. Very anyhow Support. I use their email now. That InApp chat is just useless. Traffic na the enemy of Indrive. |

Felicity001: Azin!!! I.dimt get it...
Rent is currently 35k minimum for a tokunbo Corolla ooh yet somebody is talking of dropping his own functional car to rent a car for 35k weekly. I don't get it!
That's a whooping 140k monthly 1.680m per annum.
Do you know what that can do for a family man like me? Take away expenses at least I still have 1m net earnings.
1m naira will.cover up for hours rent and children school fees bro.
Like how do we reason in this part of the world Kwa!
@ Readadream, let me suggest to you.... How about dropping your family up and picking them up every day before going to do your hustle?
After you drop kid in school, drop madam at the ferry, let her use ferry to and fro to ikorodu, it's cheaper and faster.
Calculate 20k weekly,.menh that's fvckin 480k in 6 months. Madam would not even stand the distance driving Island to Ikorodu on the sailing trust me... Under 1 week she will tell you oga I no do again abeg
Each time I suggest to.drop.my wife off on the island she always decline, she lives her darling BRT it works just fine with her, all I did was buy her 3 different cards one is my car, one in her hand bag and other at the door entrance... She can't mis any... The day she would just a smile at any of the BRT officials off she goes.
So look for a way around it bro trust me opting for a rental will do you no gain. I'm 100% sure of what I'm saying Baba the Ikorodu trip was just a one time thing jare. Them no born her well to drive to IKD daily As for dropping and picking them, e no fit work for me, me wey they enter road 4am and if I do night, I go Don they imagine myself ontop bed the moment I complete my last trip. Make God do money, make I find one small car buy for their run around. |

Pearl1910: Except it's an emergency situation, or u don't have a choice, its never a better option. In d long run u will be running at a lose. By the time u calculate ur weekly rentals in one year u have most likely paid 1.4m to someone for nothing of benefit to you.
Even if wifey is going out everyday, u will not spend 1m in TP. How much did you make on that day she went to Ikorodu? What stopped u from taking off that day to take her to and fro? Sometimes we need to calculate and recalculate inother to unlock a mystery. Why on Earth will u leave your good car at home just to take another rentals? (If it's HP I can understand,) in essence it means u r spending 30k minimum on TP every week for your wife, this is asides fueling and maintainance of the car. But if they are to take Bolt, will u spend that much weekly?
So to me I think it's better u do the movement personally or pay for bolt, rather than stress her to drive and still pay someone else weekly on ur rentals.
Except ur car is giving u issues, or it's down and u don't have d money to fix it then u can source for rentals and raise money to fix ur car. I haven't really given the rental thought much consideration vis-a-vis pros and cons in the long run. Most of her Waka na mumu Waka, wetin go make me carry them go Ikorodu? To do what? The day she went there, I didn't work but I maintained my sanity Except I'm driving to hustle or very important, I hardly drive when I'm going out, it's tiring abeg. They don't spend upto 30k weekly on tfare, but that Ikorodu own enter me, e come be when I no too guide . Thanks for the eye-opener, I Don die the idea of rentals. |

JTwelve: With his high work-rate i.e. efficiency (which is the only way to make decent money in e-hailing, with artificially low fares) it is actually more profitable for him to rent.
Look, Lagos movement is 90% off-road conditions (with the floods too) & the mechos are mostly quacks, so you're basically driving the cars to death. I bet you handle major servicing/maintenance, or is he decent enough to split it down the middle with you? I doubt that. The ride coys are now taking '98, '99 cars now because they gat no plans to adjust fares anytime soon. Putting a toks vehicle into Lagos e-hailing is dumb business-sense, simply put. I've been saying this since 2018
Unless you're renting tho If truly, the mystery man is Cheerful, then your submission is the only logical reason why he'll take up rental. Myself as an example, recently I've been looking out for rental deal, I almost contacted Ghost1994 for his Nissan, but location made me not to. What is my reason for looking at renting again? I want to drop my current car with my wife to use for running around, we have a baby and I'm not comfortable with her going out in public transport with the baby, so we've been ordering rides and omo, our riders they try. Last week, I spent about 21k on ride from Sangotedo to Ikorodu and back. So if you see me renting tomorrow, one might think probably something is wrong. As far as I know, cheerful is just start a family too, who knows? He might have dropped the corolla with his wife.... |

dav1002: As a car owner with two cars, using one for the hustle and been among the silent readers association on nairaland Joined a telegram group here to learn how to increase my earnings by a veteran here who many folks look up to and mentors After some months in the hustle, saw a post from someone in the telegram group looking for a rental. The telegram group being a closed forum with like minds I posted also that I have a car lying idle and up for rental. In my thinking I could use it to earn extra income through rentals So the person dm'd me and we agreed for 30k weekly because from his posts he nets huge and puts in the time so I thought he is ideal for the position We met signed all relevant document and the car was given. After months I discovered this person was the same person that created this telegram group but used an alternate line to strike this rental deal. Inotherwords he has two numbers on the platform. That means I've been partnering with my mentor 😢 Has he kept to his side of the agreement? |
