horsepower101: Our attitude towards attracting big FDI is really appalling. Most of our governors only attract foreigners who wants to collect contract from them. The other day, Ikpeazu scammed us that honda company or is it hyundai are planning to build oil refinery in the state but he hasnt said or done anything about it. Many more occasions where we need to leverage on the advantages our region has over other regions, we tend to sleep while the west and the north snap everything from us. |

The funniest part is that igboland is only sharing pictures of beautiful edifice in the east. All of you have refused to take action on the lack of jobs and investment inflow in the region. Dont be deceived, many of the property owners are not in the east, so the question is, what are the people in the east doing to make money? 2 Likes |

All of you screaming independence. What has your demonstration gotten you? The world isn't ready to Balkanize any third world country because of no economic importance in the move except you fight for it which doesn't make sense. We can achieve economic independence through smart policies and investment. |

The problem with you Igbo youths is that you don't know the direction you want to take. All you do is complain about everything and anything happening in the region except it is done by private individuals. I saw a thread on southeast development commission getting its needed hearing this week, none of u commented in that thread or make it trend. But when there is total neglect, you scream Biafra! We should care more about what is happening in the east than concern ourselves about what happens in other region. We shouldn't be known as people who complain everyday but people who in their terms developed their region with their own resources. 1 Like |

totit: What is the economic importance of the Yoruba's to the people of sokoto or Kano? Do you have businesses in these domain? Do you have taxable businesses more than the Igbo's in gboko, markurdi, Jo's, sokoto and Maiduguri? You just stick to your region and people come and develop it. 1 Like |

I am not one who is fascinated with dick measuring. One thing I found out in this site is that the Yoruba's are found thinking themselves bigger than other tribes when they have not contributed one naira outside their region. They sit in their regions looking for numerous foreign investors to invest in their lands and come out to shout development. I find it very funny that this same western region I grew up in and schooled are being termed most developed. Apart from Lagos, no other southwestern state is finer than Kaduna and Kano. I have been to most parts of the west, they only have development in their capital cities, after the capital, you are in for a long ride into 18th century village settings. You get to see numerous mud houses and some more muds houses which has been plastered with cement and painted blue and lazy white. Abeokuta: This is the capital "town" of Ogun state. This town before the last eight years was one straight dual lane with numerous old houses around the place. I appreciate Lagos state external economics of scale which has made Abeokuta to garner many factories and industries because it was cheaper setting up in those villages at the time when one plot was 70thousand naira. Abeokuta is a developing area as at the last time I visited. The government is trying super hard to develop it but the indigenes do not have the capacity to maintain or use the infrastructure the government has put in place. They do not run businesses like the lagosians but rely heavily on state government jobs and teaching to survive. That's why the state might have high igr but it doesn't translate to a better life of its people. Ibadan: After Lagos, I give to this capital as the next best thing in the west. Though, a very hold town, it has one of the slowest level of development. Bedeviled by the high level of hooliganism, the state is finding it hard to have a developmental direction. Ibadan was primed as the beautiful bride of the west in the 60's. It got first of everything. It has(had) research institutions to push for limitless development but going to those places now, they are a shadow of its their very self. The federal government blessed the capital with the highest number of research institutes in the country with the mindset of being a city where most of our country's agricultural and economic solutions will come from, they have since been moribund liabilities of our country. If asked today, what is the usefulness of this "city", we will be lost with no answers. |

It's quite funny the way westerners are taking delusions. Is it the southwest I know or the one that is yet to come. I am just confused. |

Feraz: Those folks in the east are really something else. Why are u claiming everywhere? If you ask them to sit down and plan for the homeland, they will run to Lagos. Igbo's love already made food, they hardly start anything these days. This generation of Igbo's talk too much and do so little. 10 Likes |

As at last year, MTN installed 4G BTS in all northern states and they are up and running. If you do not know anything, stick to your field and not come online because your 4G format is too old to connect with the upgraded 4G by mtn |

EvilMetahuman: If you are not in the telecoms sector, please don't argue with me. Glo staffs will even tell you that MTN are still the most coordinated when it comes to service delivery and service station maintenance. Glo is worst that's why they can dish out 5gig without you using 500mb out of it. We in the sector know these things. Installing a particular BTS doesn't make you better, how do you manage them? 2 Likes |

It is a disastrous mindset thinking that a particular tribe are not united when in 2M registered voters, less than 400k ppl voted and i .6Million boycotted it. At least someone said something and they were united in following the command. That cannot be said in your states. 1 Like |

HiddenShadow: Don't always believe your own thoughts because it might not be true. I have no problem creating security for our harmless villagers but calling it a secret service and not registering it with the govt is an affront to the authority of the country. BSS could have easily be registered under Vigilante group of the state and no one will blink about it. But you created it and you were inspecting them like the military? I believe you and I know that he was trying to create tension and that tension made them take that decision. We had the government in our hands and we just lost it all in the heat of everything. I believe most decision he made at the later days, he did not consult people. 2 Likes 1 Share |

horsepower101: The man made a lot of sense. Because you are agitating doesn't mean you can wake up one morning and create BSS. If your intention was to fight Fulani herdsmen killing our people, you and I know the process of creating a vigilante group. Why was he trying to make Igbo's all over the country uncomfortable because he feels he has power over the youths in the east. He should have maintained the stance of a subjugated fellow trying to fight for justice and not start a parallel government. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

laudate: You have to ask yourself, who were used to manipulate the process? The same people. He used the military through the vice to manipulate the military. You are not even talking about the ripple effects of this coup. We should stop applauding coup because those who gained through that process always do not want to relinquish it. Even if vice gets to be president, he will still use the Mugabe style and stay there for years. Ask yourself, why did the military install their man as interim president? I thought if a president leaves, the vice follows. |

laudate: Chiwenga is a friend to Mnagwanga, when he was sacked after months of having problems with Mugabe, he told Chiwenga to hatch their plans. For over two decades, Mugabe have been dining with the guy, impoverishing the country. Now, he wants to come out as the saviour of his people? Please read up the politics of Zimbabwe. Mnagwanga wanted to oust Mugabe in 1980.Mugabe had to bring out of the military and favor him in politics. Why didn't he reject those favours those years? Why is he now greedy? Like I said earlier, I do not care about what happens in Zimbabwe. An action might look right in the interim but the ripple effects might be more dangerous than we are making it to be. |

laudate: The power is meant to be with the people and not with the vice. The vice orchestrated everything, that means the coup was a selfish one. If the millions of people in Zimbabwe cannot vote out a nonworking president, then its their problem. It might look good in the eyes of many but evil people know how to manipulate good intentions for their own gain. The military can advise the legislature to impeach him or they monitor the next election to see him out of office. Military actions in Africa need to be frowned at and democratic processes need to be promoted. Chiwenga must be hang! 2 Likes 1 Share |

TWoods: I am not from Zimbabwe neither I live close to their border. Any decision they make is their problem and I do not care about it. I only care about the ripple effects of the military interfering with a democratic process. To you, an average American cared about Gaddafi when they took him from power. What was the concern of USA citizens with what was happening in Syria? If you think the "sins" of Mugabe haven't been read out within the caucus of the west after the UN convention then I believe you don't know a thing about world politics. In your mind, you thought the coup was planned immediately Mugabe sacked the vice president. If the west plan your downfall, it will always look like your fault. These guys are experts in making things happen. 2 Likes 1 Share |
