abiodunalasa:Sincerely, you are very good thinker. If you do not want Mugabe, vote him out through constitutional ways. Don't allow those guys using guns to force out a democratic government. The west keep dictating for the world when we are not fools anymore. Any army general will be eyeing the president of his country so as to usurp his government. we must fight against military coup in 2017. If you cannot vote him out, then sleep in poverty. |
desreek9:Ma'am no matter how bad he has ruled, a civilian government should not be allowed to take over government. I don't know why you all are applauding the military. It is this same act that drove us into stagnation for 40years. There are no saints in politics. They should conduct and election and remove him or better still impeach him. Let's stop celebrating rascality. |
This day I found out that most men here are either not smart or shallow minded. A child of 3 years does not rationalize his/her statement but says it as it is. A young girl have been seeing a dog lap water for months or years and you gave her water in a bowl. She will not be apologetic when replying you because all her mind will be, why is she giving me water like a dog. It is meant for the parent to correct her assertion that humans drink water from bowls too. You all omitted the part she said please give me water, maybe because the jug of water was closer to the girl and the girl just swiftly looked for a bowl poured the water in it and gave it to her. kudos to the young girl, she pays attention to her environment more than these men complaining like little girls. |
We do not have choice in this. We will continue to move because our home cannot provide what we need in terms of infrastructure and business space. We are erroneously equating landmass and economic space. More traders can still be successful in Onitsha, Aba and Nnewi. The only thing we need is to expand the economy there. If we keep ignoring the obvious, it will not take 50years before we start seeing the repercussions of neglecting the homeland. 65% is too much to neglect for development. If we cannot factor how we can use their numbers for our development, then we should just tell them to stop claiming Igbo. |
There are critical sectors in the east that needs attention. There are sectors in the world that we need to invest heavily on. We cannot make meaningful progress if we have only 100billion naira as yearly budgets. With over 55% on recurrent expenditure, how do we get the capital for economic expansion? Igbo's should support their region for once and stop coming back every December to eat rice. |
DontForceUnity:Oga mi, how many Igbo's in diaspora are business men, some are just mere salary earners. We should stop thinking that all Igbo's living in diaspora are business men or women. We should also thinking that out states have the capacity to create the real economic space if they don't break the big inertia in the region now. If you check the whole of Nigeria, we are the least in all agricultural indices. Even northeast engage in agriculture more than us. It is not our comparative advantage. How many foreigners are interested in utazi, ukazi, uziza and the rest? We need the 65% input to grow the economy or else, we won't move from where we are. |
deomelo:He never came to the thread to debate with the Yoruba's, neither is he comparing the Igbo's with them. Stop creating unnecessary debates. I believe he should have put a disclaimer that it is meant for Igbo's only. |
The movement of Igbo's around the world is a very good thing because it gives us a better space to thrive as a people and makes it easier to forgive our nonperforming governors because over 65% are not there to feel the pains of governance. It helps to generate more knowledge about a place and makes it easier for new entrants to start up easily. The figure are favorable right now but how long are we going to use the advantage? The 65% of untaxable citizens pose a serious threat to the development of the land except we get creative and get money from those people. Igboland is not developed to its right potential because it doesn't have the population to get more allocations from the government and has lesser taxable income. This has made our governors not able to undertake big projects that will open up the potentials of the states. To say the truth, our governors are mere salary payers and the ones that wants to develop his state will have to owe salaries. This because major players do not reside in the east and companies are not much there. If we keep celebrating the spread of the Igbo's, then we are telling a long term lie. Igbo investment doesn't have protection which only the eastern state can protect through policies and security. Through infrastructural development, the eastern government can protect most investment. But other government will always apply the principle of indigenes first to kill of small Igbo businesses to protect their indigenous businesses. In a long run, if we keep choking their business space, they will force out our businesses without prior notice. The 65% diasporans have to be taxed to push the necessary development in the east. If we can't get them to be taxed and the population increases in the east, then we are in for a big problem in the future. |
Abyduel7:Haven't you seen places like this all over the country? Dry north also has these places during rainy season. |
The day most of you will understand that the international community doesn't care about you, the better for us all. Catalonia, Kurds, etc have been crying and some are going into referendum but no one is recognizing them. Yours is even worse, you are calling the UN to call for referendum. If you like stay at home, the only thing it will do is make ipob trend for a week and another Nigerian scandal will eclipse it the next week. You all need to find a way to put in biafrans in power and not Nigerianists. If you cannot take the power from them, then obviously you are not a majority. |
fellowman:Why can't you get vexed and vote the young actor in power? Instead of wasting an opportunity to remove the evil people in power. Pure lack of understanding of opportunity. |
These bloggers should shut their mouths up. carrying propaganda will not work again. This is the reason there should be social media regulations. |
The judgment book of Nigeria is full. The angels are asking for extra sheets. |
Those of you saying its what a hospital can cure. it could be possible that it is just an infection but after what happened to my dad. These things are more spiritual than physical. We took my dad to almost all teaching hospitals based on recommendation from very experienced doctors. The last one said, we should take him to church because it was beyond him. This is a man with almost 25 - 30 years of experience in things like this but he couldn't solve it. My advice based in experience is this: Take her to a Native medicine man. I am not saying juju people oh but herbal medicine. They will suck out everything in it. We have them in ijebu or anambra state. Please keep it as a secret from family members and feed her yourself. Please do not allow anybody bring food for her because it is dangerous. you do not know whose hands are in it. When she goes to the place, try and take her to a very strong church like mfm. They will pray and the treatment will work. I am 101% sure that it is spiritual. Seriously. My dad was a victim and it took us 4years to treat him. |
AnambraDota:You can keep laughing all you want. I have lived in all these places and I have facts. |
Seriously? Are you trying to be funny or you are trying to hate the Yoruba's. Lagos is the least in the hierarchy of poverty in Nigeria. You should not even compare at all. The reason why people stay in those aforementioned places is because of the high price on real estate. All those guys you see living in those places can comfortably stay in 3bedroom apartments in Kano. The poverty situation is Benue is even more sickening than many places. Have you seen how ppl live in other places? Just don't go there. |
mgbadike81:You that is not after any selfish interest, what are your contributions to the state? |
The way people answer questions on this board is quite funny, but I believe agricultural science taught them that. We have two types of Fulani's, the homegrown ones and the pastoral ones. The homegrown ones have cows and they also farm while the Fulani ones just rear cows and settle as they go. These pastoral Fulani do not go back home like its a seasonal thing but they find the best place in their new areas to settle to avoid attacks or deaths. If you go to communities who do not chase them away nor fight them like the Awaza community in Abia, some communities in delta, anambra state, edo state (those in Uniben will see them), etc, you will find them living in those areas. If you go those places as at now, you will surely meet them there. For those saying a Fulani from sokoto or katsina will return to those places during raining season should say where in Jibia, malinfashi, charanchi, daura, etc the cattle will graze on. This is the farming season, they will not allow the cattle spoil their farm products. Moreover the home base Fulani have cattle to rear too. So no one goes back home but stay in their present location but this time, in a prepared settlement. |
Look at the faces of all the governors, if anyone gets to the state house for second term, then I know all Igbos in the east are fools. |
CaptainGOOD:If matters about the igbos should not be discussed, please tell me when it should. |
attackgat:The concept that only free people can trigger development is not completely true because many states in Nigeria are creating economic hubs for themselves without the help of the federal government. Take for example, Lagos, a state who created lekki phase 1 & 2, banana island and eko Atlantic city without the help of the federal government. I know for certain that an independent country will definitely want to develop. But leaving every moves towards economic emancipation till we get a country will backfire. The lives of Igbo's are at first very important than a geographic space. |
It has been a monumental torture that igbos gave subjected themselves as refugees when they are not invaded. We might be excused in the 70's that the region was totally destroyed and burnt but fast-forward to 40years after, the region still looks like a war-turned area. Thinking that the eastern region accounts for close to 45million people based on projection, the underdevelopment in the region should be a shame to its stakeholders. For over 40years, we have been having excuses that government has been blocking every route therein towards development but I'll say, there has been lackadaisical attitude coming from we igbos to develop our homeland. As high as 80% of graduates churned from different higher institutions in the east leave the region just two weeks after graduation. Their destination seem to be other comfortable region which its people have prepared through either having an economic plan or sleeping with the government. The question now lies, if over 50% of Igbo's do not leave in its region, what signal are we sending to investors and tourists? We have gotten too comfortable in our neighbors' houses and refuse to make our bed. If we continue to operate with this nonchalant attitude towards our homestead, then I give to you, there will no Igbo in the next 50years. Our children will be considered second fiddle everywhere. We will be targets of molestation and extra-judicial killings. In fact we will have no identity. This is a painful realization because before the civil war, we had a plan and we had people who were driving the plan. This was the reason why Nnamdi Azikiwe boasted that we were going to dominate Nigeria and Africa. If he did not have a plan or better still, the whole region didn't have a robust plan, he couldn't have made such statement which has brought nothing but hate from different quarters. I ask every well meaning Igbo right now, when is the best time to develop your economic potentials? Today or never! |
Alariwo2:Eleribu ni yin sir. ogbon yin ti dabaru. Eyan to se yin to wo yabaleft. se eti gbo? |
Naijiant:If your intention is to rile up the people against this man then you should advertise your article to the northerners because we are not buying it |
These people are very good in dishing out theories. Why not develop a real economic plan and snub the federal govt. We are too soft in the east that we tend to run to faraway countries to either hold rallies or seminars. |
0m0nnakoda:We are not dredging the tributaries but the river Niger itself. Many of these communities are lying on the tributaries and not on the Niger river unlike kogi and anambra state. The reason I went berserk on you was because you mentioned something about 2012 flooding that took down majorly anambra, kogi and other uptown states more than the bayelsas. Dredging the river Niger will give it a better water retentivity. Just like a expanding a swimming pool. |
0m0nnakoda:Please be more informed before coming here to argue. The 2012 flood wasn't caused by dredging or other activities in Niger river. Moreover, you have also failed to read up that the Niger river is drying up because the source is drying too. If you fail to dredge it now, then consider that river gone. One of the most important rivers in Nigeria will be gone. |
hamzeiy:When did an igbo man dominate you? please say it? |
0m0nnakoda:What was the reason behind the flood of 2012? |
Basic123:In 1999, Ekwueme who happened to be one of the founders of PDP was told that Yoruba's were going to be given the presidency. They met with Igbo politicians, the Igbo's agreed after feeling like it was their turn to be in the number one seat since 1967. We voted for Obj massively while you guys voted olu falae. Igbo's were never emotional then. We followed the party judiciously and kept to terms of zoning to the extent that we did not vote for Ojukwu when he tried to contest but opted for his Apga in the state level. You said Buhari contested with an Igbo man in 2003 and we didn't vote for him. if we did not vote for Ojukwu, who was the Igbo man that we were going to vote? Igbo's believed in the rotation and we kept to our bargain. We even voted for Yaradua instead of Buhari , does that still mean we hate the Hausas? If u guys are talking, be objective next time. |
It seems that you failed woefully in English language class. Why separate the words to relay your point? Which rule of English taught you that? Fulani herdsmen are terrorists because they cause terror in the hearts of people living in communities. If you check the number of atrocities committed by these people this year alone, they will only be second to ISIS. When it comes to IPOB, they call themselves indigenous people of Biafra. Let us analyze it properly: 1. Do igbos in general consider themselves biafrans by heart or attitude - yes. 2. I know you know the meaning of indigenous people, and you as well know that nothing in the names gives a red flag - yes. 3. Do you have touts who block streets in Lagos and Kano whenever activities are going on? Yes. Some even say there will be curfew from a particular time to a particular time and anything you see is on your head. 4. When people are fighting street fight, do they carry machetes and guns? Yes. Do you consider everyone living in that street terrorists because they fought street fight? No 5. Do you have vigilantes in your community? If yes, what is their names and what are their primary duties? If you are going to be clever, try as much as possible to come foolproof. |
IgboSubmarine:Who do you want to do these things for you? The federal government? My brother, like you rightly said, change of tactics is imminent and while changing it, let it be smarter than the former tactics because no one is ready to carry arms. And to the guy above, I believe you have a very strong point that if you and igbosubmarine synergize, there is big achievement coming your way. It should not be biafra or death, if you die, who will live in the biafra? |
