Nigeria will start selling and buying oil and gasoline directly to cut out middlemen and curb graft, the new managers of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corp. announced Tuesday night. The major policy shift fits new President Muhammadu Buhari's plan to halt corruption endemic in the industry in Africa's biggest oil producer. The previous administration of President Goodluck Jonathan had ignored warnings from Central Bank Governor Lamido Sanusi that some $20 billion in oil sales over three years was missing from federal coffers, and instead fired Sanusi. Nigeria produces 2 million barrels of crude a day, according to the corporation's website. Nigerians consume about 9 million liters (2.4 million gallons) of gas daily, almost all imported because local refineries are inefficient. One barrel of crude produces about 30 gallons of diesel or fuel. (s: Michelle Faul) oag-gurus..com

The second-largest U.S.-based oil producer, slashed its 2016 capital budget by 25 percent and said it would lay off roughly 10 percent of its workforce, one of the most-drastic reactions to date to the plunge in crude prices. The price drop has forced Chevron and dozens of its peers to make tough decisions about what projects to fund or not fund in order to offset natural declines at its existing fields. The choices are that much starker at large international oil giants like Chevron that rely heavily on their massive budgets to fund exploration projects crucial to finding new energy sources. The San Ramon, California-based company also said it would lay off 6,000 to 7,000 workers as part of the budget cuts. (s:rigzone) We better start looking elsewhere ![]() oag-gurus..com

The suspected attacker was armed with a Kalashnikov assault weapon, nine chargers, a Luger automatic pistol, a 9mm charger and a box cutter, reports said.. What could have turned out to be a massacre in a train from Amsterdam to Paris was thwarted by a British national and the 3 American passengers. "I saw a man with what I think was an AK-47 -- anyway, it was some kind of machine gun or submachine gun," said the British man, Chris Norman. Reports say they believed the riffle was jammed which gave the chance for the heroic passengers to attack and subdue the gun man. By the time the suspect was subdued, three people had non life-threatening injuries, said Anthony Blondeau, a spokesman for the city of Arras in northern France, where the train pulled up after the incident and the suspect was arrested. realitytopline..com Lately, celebrities now have the effrontery to go braless even in public. Why this sudden surge in this type of fashion parade....Before we criticize lets read and digest the report below. According to the results of a 15-year study in France published Wednesday, bras provide no benefits to women and may actually be harmful to breasts over time. "Medically, physiologically, anatomically, the breast does not benefit from being deprived of gravity," Jean-Denis Rouillon, a professor at the University of Franche-Comté in Besançon, told France Info. Conducting the study at the university's hospital, Rouillon measured and examined the breasts of more than 300 women, aged 18 and 35, taking note of how the additional support provided by bras affects the body over time. (It should be noted the study does not mention breast size.) Overall, he found that women who did not use bras benefited in the long term, developing more muscle tissue to provide natural support. As France's The Local notes, Rouillon also noticed that nipples gained a higher lift, in relation to the shoulders, on women who went braless. When bras are worn, the restrictive material prevents such tissue from growing, which may actually accelerate sagging, the study concluded. Capucine Vercellotti, a 28-year-old woman who participated in the research, found that she breathes easier without the constraints of a bra. But don't throw away your bras just yet, ladies. Despite the findings, Rouillon said it would be dangerous to advise all women to take off their bras based on the study's sample, which may not be representative of the population. (c:Sarah Gates)

They have officially apologized long time ago.....then nobody knew the devastating effects of atomic bombs. In 9th Aug. 1945, the United States dropped its second atomic bomb killing more than 70,000 people in Nagasaki, Japan. The first bomb had been dropped 3 days earlier on Hiroshima. Six days later on August 15th, Japan announced its surrender effectively ending World War II. Japan signed the Instrument of Surrender on September 2. Japan, today, marks the 70th anniversary of this event that change the course of history on use of nuclear weapons.
