Popular evangelist accused of fraud after he was caught deceptively soliciting for funds for widows


An evagelist has been accused of being a fraud after he was caught deceptively soliciting for funds, claiming he wants to help widows.

Evangelist Chidi Ibinado shared photos of bags of rice, wrappers, and other items which he claims he bought to distribute to widows. He then asked social media users to donate for more items

But it turns out he didn't buy those items as he claims. The photo of bags of rice and wrappers which he said he bought for widows are actually photos from CPM Festac's Papa Move. He is alleged to have taken their photos, shared it online, and passed it off as something he is doing for widows.

He was busted by philathropist Dr Yolanda N. George-David who was one of those that organised CPM's Festac Papa's Move.

She wrote:

I am Irate.. Disgusted..and Ashamed as a Minister of the Gospel... Evan. Chidi Ibinado in Owerri.. How dare you?

Why would a so called Evangelist take Pictures from CPM Festac's Papa Move and claim that he is taking care of widows.
Dear Mr .. Evangelist.. God is the husband of the widows... real widows were blessed... God has blessed Rev.Paul.. myself and everyone who donated to the Success last year.. You can't claim to be called by God and you steal from already hungry people... Return every donation that you have received in 7 days or hear from my lawyers... I am pretty Irate ..right now.. Thank you God that I am not in Africa, I would have paid you a visit and given you some good beating... Since you have reduced yourself to lying... How is this not fraudulent...

Yesterday, several Nigerian websites published a press release with the caption, 'Pastor Chris Okafor shows of his newly acquired private jet' with photos of the man of God posing in and outside of the private jet.



Though the press release partly states that, 'If found to be true, Dr. Okafor will Join the growing list of Nigeria’s mega pastors whose ministries have been graced with luxurious jets'. It also stated that 'the church did not officially issue a statement but a trusted source who is very close to the Liberation City General overseer waved it off as a “rudderless rumor”.



LIB has futher confirmed the story to be misleading as the private jet with registration number 5N-EXJ actually belongs to Execujet Nigeria and it has been used by other Nigerian pastors and celebrities in the past.



Chris Okafor does not own a jet.

Toyin Lawani drags Nina on twitter, calls her a bitch and accuses her of speaking ill of her

The last has certainly not been heard of the beef between serial entrepreneur, Toyin Lawani and her former meentee, ex-BBNaija housemate, Nina.

Recall that last year, Nina and Toyin made news after Nina met with Miracle in Ghana and Toyin went on her IG page to slam Nina. Few days after caling out Nina, Toyin in an interview with LITV, said all has been resolved between them and that they are cool.



Well, events of today January 2nd, points to the fact that all is not well between the former mentor and mentee.

Trouble started when Nina left a comment on Toyin Lawani's IG post celebrating her son, Tenor's birthday. While responding to Nina's comment, Toyin reminded Nina that on her own birthday, she gave her a personal shoutout on her IG page and expected Nina to do same for her son.



Well, some of Nina's fans found Toyin's comment offensive. They went on twitter to tackle her and Toyin wasted no time to attack them and Nina. She threatened to reveal the real reason why herself and Nina fell out.

United Nations envoy releases 'urgent statement' over alleged scam involving actor, Williams Uchemba

Earlier today, former child actor, Williams Uchemba was accused of fraud by US based activist, Edafe Okporo.



Edafe in a tweet that immediately went viral shared an alleged screenshot of a chat he had with Williams Uchemba where the latter was claiming to be an envoy of the United Nations and seeking $1000 in payment for a certain programme.

He claims to be a @UN youth rep. Because of @FriendshipAmbas pretentious youth assembly deceit to thousand of young people. His name is @williamsuchemba

This is a cheap scam for so many young Nigerians and youth all around the world. @FriendshipAmbas is collecting money in the name of @UNYouthEnvoy @UNDPINGO He his posing to be an ambassador. Using the reputation of the @UN

Actor Yul Edochie resigns as Special adviser to Governor Obiano as he dumps APGA for PDP

Nollywood actor and politician, Yul Edochie has dumped the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) party for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.



He made the announcement on Twitter, declaring his support for Atiku Abubakar in the forthcoming presidential election and also announced his resignation as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on creative and entertainment media to Willie Obiano, Anambra governor.



Edochie said his decision to join the PDP and support the presidential ambition of Atiku Abubakar was for the sake of Nigerians.

He wrote: “Today I gave up my position as SSA to Governor of Anambra and joined the PDP with tons of my supporters to give 100% support to Atiku and Peter Obi. I do this for all suffering Nigerians, I believe it will not be in vain.
