Some professional traders like Gareth Soloway don't even use stop loss sef

If I was a monthly trader using monthly ATR as mental stop loss (on eurusd ...that is about 400 pips) to enter my trades and risking 2 percent, I can't blow my acct and I don't need to set a stop loss

Funny enough, that acct may even become profitable faster than a day trader with strict stop loss.

After some analysis on audnzd, here's sth I learnt:

To analyse daily/intramonthly chart, look at monthly areas

To analyse intra day chart, look at daily areas

To analyse monthly chart, look at 4yr areas

Monthly chart....here means what will happen over the course of several months like key level to buy or sell to get move that can last 4-6 months.

Intramonthly...major move of the month or over like one or two weeks.

Use supply and demand zones and whatever method you use to find support and resistance and the picture becomes clear....for me, I use ATR or range from high to low within these specific timelines.

That was my initial thought, even though it looked like it but not exactly; in fact, this prop firm wins my heart with the reduction because a sustainable and genuine prop firm would want to protect their capital at all costs cos they want to remain in business for as long as one can imagine.

They have an algorithm that watches how you trade, and when I was just about winning phase 1 in about 3 weeks - gran gran, I got the email that they would let me finish phase 2 but would reduce my leverage to 1:5 when funded. They feared that, I was going to be very aggressive with the funded account considering how I won phase 1. They feared that I was those guys who would want to kill the market and obtain those huge profits of $25K etc.

However, on the other $100K account with them, I passed phase one and never received any mail about leverage reduction even till now, and I'm not sure I will get it even after phase 2 of this.

You are smart, this is a very valid question.........here is my unbiased reply.

You see, a lot of prop traders come with the mentality to kill the market and run with huge profits - you will see Gold ONLY trader made $48K profit, US30 ONLY trader made $88K. This is the wrong side.

Prop accounts should not be traded to kill but to manage and sustain, not with a kill mentality.

I have used the 1:5 leverage (reduced) to my advantage.
It helped me to become more rigorous with my risk/management skills
This will remove your mentality to kill the market once and for all.
The 1:5 leverage is best for someone who wants to be serious about managing prop money
I gave them 1star on trustpilot when I experienced this, but I have deleted it cos I see more advantages than its disadvantages.

During my past trades with them, even with my sound risk/money management, I would want to add to trade but the system would deny and say not enough money, chai.....the thing pained me - but I realized it is a forced method to keeping you in check to be risk/money management trained.

I can write on and on, but I will stop here for now.
