having a gamblers mindset will put your trading game into a very good perspective..
when you tell people that this thing is Gambling they think gambling is all about taking uncalculated risks..........there are thousands of people through out history that have attempted to beat gambling games through mathematics,

gambling=unknown outcomes= probability= maths

same as Forex Trading

understanding this whole thing is pure mathematics will fix your emotion and psychology issues in trading, emotions can't solve maths, only formulas can solve maths

what do you think discipline, consistency, following strategy, accepting losses try to achieve,, it tries to make you follow a formula that can solve the probability problem that forex is, nothing more or less

you believe in analysis, you believe in setups, you believe you have control of your wins because you can do technical or fundamental analysis

hahahaha that is the lie you have been told

you cannot control any f***king outcome
the moment you believe you can, you will overleveage, revenge trade, shift stoploss backwards, overtrade, place too much emphasis on every individual trade. believe a setup is too good to fail

in gambling you fully accept any and every loss once you stake games, sport gamblers are better risk managers,, cos they will stake 10 games with 100ngn and try to cashout 5k, that's a very good risk to reward, even though it's laughable.

bring the mindset and approach of a gambler to forex
and let probability do it's magic

Am in severe pain this morning, I took some trades yesterdayz left it overnight, the spread widened and daily drawdown was breached. It was all my fault, I over leveraged the account in a bid to recover earlier loss. I failed myself and missed an opportunity.

I have stated many times on this thread on why I believe Trading is Gambling

in no way am I trying to paint trading in a bad light, I used to be highly against the notion of trading not being gambling until my losses in forex started piling up.


I began to make some research on gambling and the similarities was staggering....

a gambler makes bets, a trader places trades
a gambler looks at odds, a trader Risk to Reward
a gambler looks at team stats, a trader Backtests
a gambler and a trader both have winning streaks
and losing streaks
both are constantly trying to predict the future
both believe they can achieve financial freedom
both have 95% who lose money constantly and 5% who make large withdrawals
both can lose all their fortune in a day

but at the end of the day Forex traders have it worst, why? they still want to believe they are not gamblers,, and that right there makes it difficult for their brains to fully permit them to take on the mindset and form of a Truly profitable Trader...

The industry tells you to go demo, me I believe one should always put small money like (N5k) for practice if you've all your set variables instead of just balling with unreal numbers.

It is funny how in this group, traders decide to look away from the obvious for reasons best known to them.

...you are considering someone who has won or has been given prop accounts in the recent past and is still unproven or is it someone who has openly admitted to psychological issues and discipline during trading or is it someone who is coming out of an unsettling situation or is it someone who has indirectly said that he does not trust his trading judgement these days or even someone, who keeps anticipating when he would place his trade.

Meanwhile, the likes of @peteregwu, @donsheddy @zonall and others, who are first and foremost, active in posting trade calls they take, then fairly and consistently profitable, are getting few mentions...make una dey play dey go.
