To cook a pot of soup now, it would take nothing less than N20,000, manageably.

But before you cook that soup, first, recharge your Nepa meter with at least N10,000, to keep the soup refrigerated for just one week.

Then also buy 10 litres of fuel for your generator at N1400/litre = N14k. This is because Nepa will surely fail despite your area being categorised into "BANDit A" which pays N209/unit of light.

So it cost N44,000 to keep a pot of soup for one week. Meanwhile, how much is your salary?

The whole thing is so sickening.

First all, the claim is that the new meter is free but you have to pay N10,000 (some people as high as N20,000) for capturing. You spend money to buy wire to take the light from where the meter is mounted to your apartment. Now the meter comes with 20 units of electricity claimed to be free. Just 20 units.

Do you know what they do? Once you exhaust the 20 so called free unit, automatically you have an unpaid arrears of N13,521 (in my own case and I learnt some people's own as high as N30,000 arrears). I mean arrears of N13,521 left in meter meter to pay from no where and no explanation of how it came about. If it's for the so called "free 20 units, why is it N13,521? I mean at Band A rate, 20 units at N209/unit should be N4180. That is less than N5000 but we are made to pay N13,521 for the same 20 unit that should've cost N4180.

From the other way of calculation, N13,521 would've given 64.6 units, enough to take a small family more than 1 month.

Why is there so many scam in the system, cutting across different sectors? Why?

We are made to pay that much for a kilowatt of electricity and on top of that, still being scammed inside. That is my pain and frustration right might, same with fellow Nigerians currently going through these unbearable tough times in the country.

That I don't love her or being romantic enough, that's why I have not been washing her clothes especially if I'm washing my own. Brothers, is it African that a man should be washing a woman's clothes? For that, she has stopped washing my own clothes if I cannot reciprocate her.

Also, she is demanding I should be telling her "Thank you" after every meal she makes and I am like, thank you for what? After sweating so hard to make the money to provide the food, I should be thanking her again for cooking it? I don't know if she's right here but I find it hard to do that. I'm the one providing and I should still tell her thank you for cooking the meal that both of us are to eat?

Another issue is that, the day I'm home while she returns, I should be rushing to the doorpost to welcome her, hug her and be so romantic in welcoming her. How does this sound? Not like I don't welcome her. If she comes in, we'll hug and embrace ourselves but to say I should be rushing to the doorpost or give her standing ovation, all that for what? I'm a proud African and I find it difficult to do all that.

The other day when we wanted to eat, I jokingly carried the washing hand basin and gave to her to wash her hands but before she could dip her hands in, I returned the basin and she got so annoyed for not holding the water for her to wash her hands. That she can do it for me but why can't I do it for her?
