Yeah your are right. The comparison is just a way of attracting people a lot more to it. When People see "Nigeria's Version of PayPal" they'll be a lot more interested

This is so not necessary. If there actually people who want to leave Nairaland, why can't they just stop visiting Why must they delete their account? Nairaland has over 1 Million Users and trust me a good number of people love it very much. If you want to leave, then leave. Nobody would notice you did anyway.

Mind you if people are allowed to delete their posts or topics, it might just lead to a lot of 404 error pages on the Forum. Stop working hard to spoil what someone worked seven years for.

In my opinion, this request is just pointless... Only a Jobless person would make or even support such a request. I'm not a MOD and I'm not Seun's friend. He doesn't even know who I am. I just feel we should be a lot more reasonable.

Try restoring the database backup. Do you know hot do it? There are still some good web hosting companies in Nigeria though, all you have to do is make sure you backup your stuff yourself, so that whne they mess up, you'll move on.

I just want to say this again, any reasonable web host would backup before migrating to another server. When my host was migrating, me to another server in order to give me Cloudflare, we had some issues, although my site was down for some time, they restored my stuff back to the old server and my site was up again, while they were trying to figure out what to do.

Don't ask me about my host. I don't want them to get popular, so they won't start messing up like web4africa... africa my foot.

There's still hope. The Issue here is that your Database is missing. There's a possibility your database is backed up with your web host (Web 4 Africa). If they don't have a copy of it, then you have to start again, and I'll give you one advice, never use them again.

If your web host is migrating to another server it is very wrong of them to loose your files. Anyway, that's the issue with Nigerian Web hosts. I don't expect that from Web 4 Africa sha... I use a Nigerian web host too... for those planning to crucify me, I just don't feel they are good enough.

Just wait till they reply you and here what they have to say, they can't just misplace your database files like that. Not for their standard...

You can design your blog with WordPress (Recommended). Just get a web hosting account, of course with a domain name related to education stuff, then Install WordPress. Blog Designing is not what I can explain completely here.

Due to the excitement a lot of people downloaded fake BBM Android apps even when Blackberry had not released the app officially. Blackberry said in a statement that they had over 1.1 Million active users in the first 8 hours without even launching the official Android app.

Check the Publisher's Name: Before you download any BBM Android app from Google Play, ensure you check the name of the publisher. This doesn't work all the time anyway as most people would use Blackberry as publisher name. If the name has nothing to do with Blackberry then it’s obviously fake. If you have already downloaded the app, you can still check for the publisher name on the about page.

Read the Reviews: For every app on Google Play Store, there are usually reviews. Ensure you read the reviews written by other users of the app. Common sense can help you here. If you are satisfied, then you can download it. This applies to other android apps too.

Check Publishers Contact Email: For BBM Android apps and of course any other Blackberry app, the publisher’s contact email must end with @blackberry.com. If you see something else, then it might just be another fake app.

Check the Logo: I’m not sure about this, but I guess the BBM logo is still the same irrespective of the platform it is on. I will confirm this and let you know, so be expecting updates to this post on my blog. If you see any app with a funny looking logo, then it's most likely not real. Some fake apps still have the original logo anyway.

This just came in, that an agreement has been reached over the sale of Blackberry to an insurance company Fiarfax Financials. Last friday Blackberry announced loss of about $I Billion, and cut down of about 4,500 Employees, now this.

I just knew that the launch of BBM on other platforms was the perfect plan for their downfall. Fellow Nairalanders join me as we mourn them.

It is important that Mytv users re-scan their receiver, at least once every month to keep their channel list up-to-date. See how to scan;

1. Select a MyTV channel (MyTV Africa, MyTV Series etc.)
2. Press the “Menu” button on your remote control.

Like I said, Blakberry has not released the app for Android yet. I guess the app you downloaded is fake.

BlackBerry has been unable to make BBM available for Android today (September 21st), as previously announced by Samsung.

Blackberry is working on the technical aspects to resolve this problem. In the meantime they said all customers should be patient and cautious of any fake applications.
