Inexplicably, the Word on Sunday thread seems to have disappeared. I did not ask for the thread to be taken down and received no communication preceding or following this action. It’s unclear to me what may have informed this decision to have the thread removed. It is unclear if events on the thread broke Nrland rules to the extent of forcing a removal.

The thread was an important part of our planned Greater Purpose initiative and I hope it will continue on Nairaland and eventually off-Nrland on a dedicated platform of its on.

I will trust my instincts to identify individuals who appear to have an urgent and imperative need. So the selection will be based on a first-come, first-serve basis and also on urgency.

Let's be honest, and we shouldn't start making up stories. While I may not have enough funds to assist everyone, the aim is to continue this initiative, and I encourage anyone who can to also join in and be an anonymous giver or continue to be one if you already are.

However, going forward, the selection process will no longer be random. I will begin from the very first account number and work my way down. If your account number falls on pages 6, 7, or 8, I pray that you won't even require the money by the time I reach your page.

I have created this post to start an initiative of offering assistance to individuals who are unknown to me. Every week, I aim to send 10,000 Naira to a Nigerian stranger(I will pick an account number at random if there is more than one), as I understand the challenging situation in Nigeria. This small gesture is my way of giving back to my country, even though I am currently living abroad. I have the means to consistently afford this amount, even when facing unpaid bills, as it is less than £10.

Most of my siblings are also living outside Nigeria, and through this initiative, I hope to extend a helping hand to those in need back home. I find fulfillment in anonymous giving, acts that only God recognizes and rewards.
