Highorbit7O16: Hello everyone, please I started this wonderful poultry business in the early part of this month, precisely September 1 with 150 broilers. I've been able to raise them to almost 4 weeks now and they are very much healthy with good weight. The very first buyer I approached yesterday at the market to advertise my broilers started bargaining at a very heartbreaking price of 900#, I believe broilers of almost 4 weeks should cost more than this. Please if anyone can refer buyers to me, I'll appreciate it a lot. I plan on selling at 1300. My farm is at Iju ishaga, Lagos. My phone number is 090 122-09515. I'm also on whatsapp. Thank you and God bless. Let guys and people in the neighborhood knows you sell broilers, come to different thread and advertise on Nairaland. You'll surely sell them off since you are in Lagos |

1b8m: at 3weeks, you should use about 5bags of feed else you'll be underfeeding. Below is a standard performance chart for Ross 308. You'll notice that at 21 days they recommend 1218g (i.e 1.218kg) cummulative feed consumption for a chick. Multiply that by your 91birds, you should get 110.838kg. Divide this by 25kg/bag and see if you're underfeeding or not.
The best way to check your progress is by weighing at intervals. Anyway, you may be right, but I don't think I am underfeeding my birds, they will be three weeks old on Tuesday, and I am on the fourth bag |

MERCHANDISER: You are right....
Please Redomi try upgrade your feeding trough to a bigger one.It will reduce feed wastage and minimises disease transmission and most importantly administer amoxicillin or neomycin. The birds looks like they are down with Salmonella And for the feeder trough, I will manage the four aluminium feeders with the Bamboo Feeder I made myself. I will look for rope to hang them tomorrow |

To wash this tray and dry it Everytime i want to feed them is too stressful |

Hello good day my fellow farmers. Here is the update about my birds. One of the street farmers that has been discouraging me finally came to my pen house this evening and was very happy to see how grown my birds are, he advised me to start selling from Monday, he said he can get me buyers that will buy each for #1500. Thereafter, he move on to my noilers cage to check, thank God he came, I would have lost them all, I complained to him that they are not eating like they used to eat before, he noticed they are weak, he raised their arms and behold the multitude of small tiny insect like lice moving all around their body. Immediately he bring out his phone and call one madam for the spray, he promised to bring it very early tomorrow. When he was leaving he remind me to give them the last Lasota and the woman will come for it on Tuesday, I told him to keep calm, that I want to wait till days 28 for the last Lasota.
Sorry guys, I want to take one of my birds to a guy for weight measurements, I'll update you later |

1b8m: i estimated 10bags for the 6weeks I'm going to raise them. My target is atleast 2.5kg average live weight.
About your feeding, are you sure you're not underfeeding them? From what I learnt from experienced people like emmaachile and turks, 100birds would consume atleast 20bags of feed in 8weeks. Breaking that down, the 1st 4weeks should take about 6bags of starter while the remain 4weeks should take 14bags. If you're at your 3rd bag at 3weeks, you may be underfeeding those 91 birds
What's the average weight of your birds and please Could you share a picture of your birds? I don't have scale to measure their weight, but you can imagine how big they should be if women selling chicks in the street could be begging me to sell for them at #900 at two weeks. I trust the feed I am using and I trust my feeding plan. |

I am very sure my birds are doing so well. The weight is so good. one guy came yesterday begging me to sell for for at 900 and they are just two weeks old. If the size and weight are not okay, he won't be begging me to sell two weeks old broiler for #900. I trust my feed and my feeding plan. |
