Madam, why you no wan do offline? grin grin grin

The problem with the compression is that further compression can remove detail out of the document, making it not eye-friendly. Maybe you scan to pdf instead of scanning to jpeg first and then convert to pdf.
@Jayfierce n bigfido, your helps are needed.

@brotundes, sponsorship for tourism may not be tenable to these people. They will believe that a person may go on tourism if he has his funds to spend and may also want to think someone being sponsored for tourism may not want to come back home. I stand to be corrected though.

Please what do you mean by POE? I only understand it to mean Port Of Entry, lol. Is that what you meant? Well, it's a letter of invitation by a Canadian Company, inviting us for a product training on a 4-D USS. I guessed the Immigration guy wanted to confirm our technician's mission in Ca. I may not be able to upload a copy as requested here on social media for privacy reasons, please bear with me. But if a family/friend invited you for a visit or a company/organisation for a programme you're going for, I think an invitation letter would be necessary. I don't know why the Imm. guy was acting so unfriendly though. What if he's a tourist, must he carry an invitation? This just kept me wondering. I just felt like sharing it with you, just in case.
If he were a tourist, he would not need any invitation but may be asked his hotel booking and some questions about his visit.
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by RedReact: 12:01pm On Sep 29, 2016
I think letter of invite is for someone visiting someone over there. I dont believe it is applicable to a tourist.

even though paper application is 8wks for complete application,i think several factors determine the processing speed. like, immigration, background, bank check etc..if ur application form is well fill and complete, you should get a response by tues nxt wk..
That online application is just filled with unnecessary suspense these days. It used to be fast before but not so any longer, as it takes up to 3 months and some weeks, based on statistics of peoples' experiences.

If truly Corpers dey stay here...dey should bury their heads in shame!
I know it's not their responsibility to renovate...But they can try make the place look a bit habitable by contributing from their pockets...if they have to wait..dey will wait till eternity...The Corpers No Try!
I can't say for now though, but as at 2010 - 2013, corp members were there. The building is not for NYSC or their corp members, but for the GSS school located close to that area; call it their hostel then. When corp members tried to appeal to Karu LG NYSC official, they were told that they should evacuate the building, and look for their accommodation, but wetin people wey no sabi anyone for a strange land go do? They all started contributing the little they could, for those who could stay there though, while those who couldn't had to look for their rented apartment. After some time, a local chief promised to help in renovating the place but wouldn't know whether he did it or not.

Truth be told, there is no corpers lodge in Karu LG.

The US Embassy in Nigeria does not stamp passports when they refuse visa applications. That is the crux of the matter. Jayfierce, Bigfido and others saying you are wrong are very much conversant with this bruv. The UK still stamps passport if visa application is refused to the best of my knowledge even though I may give you the benefit of doubt on it, Canada doesn't and we know too. It's the mix up on the UK and US own that is in contest here
I believe this matter have been addressed, but just to lend credence to the information being shared, USA doesnt stamp refused applicant's passport. They never stamped mine when refused, although I re-applied and was granted.

Even with more than 6months validity she can Cancel it for the reason of name change.

The immigration officer I spoke to this morning listed:

1. Marriage certificate
2. Affidavit of Marriage.
3. Newspaper Publication
4. Data page of husbands international passport.
Thanks, my oga. That is why we read everyday because we learn everyday.

IN addition to what Oga at the top said, does the passport have 6 months validity on it? If yes, they may not want to renew the passport yet.

What Uni and topic are you researching on?
Do you meet with your supervisor each day? Can you work day time and do your research at night or vice versa? People study for first degree where they have lectures almost everyday, individual cum group assignments and yet still squeeze out time to work.
No sector of study is easy you just have to squeeze out time and set your priorities straight.

If your supervisor is understanding, you can always communicate over the phone, email and then meet onces or twice a forthnight.
Permit me to contribute a little. As FutureDon said, PhD is a very tough work on its own. Although, some programs may give allowance for work, but I doubt STEM programs will do. The first year is pure coursework, from where one would put all efforts to prove oneself. Having done that, move over to big work of the program itself, with papers waiting to be published, conferences to be attended, thesis to ve written, lab works to done, and if God wan catch person, make him supervisor be Chinese; believe me, the student will a abandon work idea totally.

Hello Hotstepper! Permit me to ask about Starchuks' petition, or what is her name again, concerning birth tourism in Canada. The petition had already gathered enough petition though. Where do you think it could lead to?

Chinese guys really exploited this medium and abused it a lot. Same thing they are doing in the US; almost all Chinese nationals want ABC (or what I will call CBC).

Hi everyone I've read through this thread and got a few useful info..please I will like for someone who has successfully travelled with childbirth as purpose of visit to post documents she summited at the embassy and how long it took for visa approval..im 30weeks gone(waisted my time on us app) and I plan on starting my app next week(hope its not late) I've gotten a gyn and will be staying with a relative. Please any additional info will be appreciated. I have just one shot. Thanks.. Advice...suggestions pleaseee
Not sounding pessimistic though, Canadian visa usually takes a long time for review before it is being approved, which I don't see getting done before your 36th week. It takes like 16 weeks on average.
