Very simple! Every single manager they hire keep saying the same thing "We want to make Messi comfortable, he needs to have the same Barca aura around him". Sir, I think this is BS! He is part of the team, he isn't the team. He should be the one changing pattern of play to fit the general gameplay not the other way round.
Anyways, they will continue to lose if he and those incharge ain't ready to make sacrifices.
They need a gameplan that suits majority of the players, not just one.

I can't think of any other 'big team' that is so vulnerable at the back. When they are beaten, it's usually by multiple goals. Or the way the whole team crumbles when you manage to stifle Messi.

I hope they do well, but then hope isn't a strategy.

Argentina are unlikely to win this Copa. They only have good attackers. Average midfield, terrible defense, unremarkable goal keeper. That's why their attackers rarely get the ball in good positions, and they are concede some really silly goals.
