TravelRe: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by reeq(m):
I was denied u.s student visa 3times despite the fact that I even paid my school fees.(2000-2004)
So After my BSc I was like let me try again. So I applied for my Msc in a Canadian university. This time I used the foremost agency then for Canadian school’s (Maple) . I was denied again. Then I said ok, I guess I”d try the u.k tho I never liked the u.k. So I applied for MSc in Robert Gordon university, I still used one of the Agencies.
This one was suppose to be smooth. I went to Ikeja to collect my passport with confidence. I was shocked , I wasn’t only denied the visa but was given a 10year Ban(

I was still bent on leaving the country, So the agency said they were very sorry, They can still help. They said they help me go to Dubai to a British university. (Sussex) I was like I don’t mind .
The university said I can’t come because I already have a 10yrs ban . It didn’t make sense , even Dubai that everyone goes to I couldn’t go. It was devastating
So I just encouraged myself. I decided to stay put in Nigeria. I stayed back in Abuja after my Service at CBN Abuja.
Then in 2012, my childhood friend who has been in the states , actually I was suppose to go to the same university he went to. He told me about his Wife’s bestie(she American) . I was skeptical. I said thank you, I am not interested, I didn’t want to go through that ordeal again after failing too many times.
Then he sent me her picture (smiles) I was like ok. So we stated dating, my Wife(then Girlfriend) cAme to Nigeria twice before I decided to try the K1 visa. The rest they say is history.

I remember Nairaland helped me during the process, there was a Visa Officer from the u.s embassy that was very very helpful. I relocated to the u.s Nov 1 2014.
Today I am a u.s citizen and by the Grace and mercies of God me and my family doing great.

I just want encourage someone here, Don’t give up. You will get that visa and flourish in what your heart desires.
Kudos to the guys that created this thread.
I wish everyone on this forum the best.
God bless you all.

Thanks!

Hello everyone. .

Pls when granted a u.s tourist visa for the first time,is it an offense not to travel on the date you filled out in your application?

Is it okay to travel anything time within the validity of the visa?

God bless you all. Thanks

[Thanks for the info. God bless!quote author=constance234 post=54409527]
They need to have the basic documents- their passport and appointment confirmation for interview. Invitation letter, account statement etc won't be asked but from experience, having a whole bunch of documents gives the parents more confidence
Note- Most likely they could be asked how you got into the states and got your Lpr.[/quote]

VisaOfficer:
And thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! K visa holders do not need to pay the $165 USCIS fee, because technically, K visas are non-immigrant visas processed by the Immigrant Visa Unit. We're all so intent on not forgetting to tell people about the fee that we sometimes forget that K applicants are exempt! Apologies to all the K people we've confused with this.

Also I need little clarification on question 8(are you asking if the person filing has other people dependent on Him/Her).
Have a splendid day..#blessed

Greetings! Here's the e-mail we sent your fiancee on July 21:

The U.S. Consulate General in Lagos is ready to begin final processing of your approved K1 visa petition. Kindly request your fiance/fiancee (the applicant) to visit any branch of Guaranty Trust Bank PLC in Nigeria to pay the K1 visa processing fee of $240; and after that, follow the instructions for fiance/fiancee visa applicants attached to this email. (Note: You can find the form at http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visa_forms.html )

Please note that no applicant will be allowed into the Consulate Visa Hall without the confirmation (Barcode) page of Form DS-160 completed online and a valid medical examination report.

If you or your fiancee encounters any problems accessing or using the online appointment system (http://www.ustraveldocs.com), please contact: support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com or +234-9-460-1748 for assistance.

Info about medical paperwork and the documents you'll need are in the pdf mentioned above. You will need an official NPC birth certificate, not a photocopy, so please obtain a replacement for the lost original.

Your fiancee cannot join you for the interview -- we don't have the space to accommodate all the petitioners.

Good luck!
