missjekyll:Why are you finding it hard and difficult to accept that you have expressed far-left opinions and espoused far-left ideology - on this Nairaland? Almost every day, you make posts, calling people far-right or skinheads or racists or transphobes or a variation of different things. I bet, if you ask all the people you have labelled , they will tell you they are not what you are labelling them. Just ququma accept your far-left tag and move on. By their fruits we shall know them. By your fruits, you shall be known(or tagged). Again, I challenge you. Write out what far right means, and what far left means and elaborate on the differences, with examples. Then allow others to class you, based on what you have supported, written or agreed with. That’s all. |
Treadway:Thank you for the pointers. If previous experience is used as a yardstick, I can bet my bottom $ that the person who posted the link above NEVER watched up to 1/4 of the entire interview before jumping with glee to post it on this thread. While i absolutely have no preference for DJT, I think it’s always batter to be balanced. |
missjekyll:I definitely have a lot of ideas what the terms mean. Just that I have broader understanding of the nuances. Ohh you hate being addressed as far-left, yet you are happy, very happy to describe other people as far-right or far left. Did you ever ask their permission to class them as such? No. You didn’t. Like I said before, far left people don’t self-describe. Neither do far-right people. You will never hear a person describe themselves as far-right or far-left. That is for others to do, usually based on your opinions, ideas and what you say or write. Hope this explanation helps. |
missjekyll:“Against Democracy or human rights” That is your definition or Far Left & Far Right? So you mean far left and far right are basically the same when it comes to Himan rights and Democracy? My sister. I described you as far left. Which I think is correct. Someone described you as a former far right (when you were in Nigeria) based on evidence. I think that is correct too. You see the whole thing about far right and far left? It is for others to classify based on what they have heard/see you do/voice out. You can’t deny being a far-leftist, when you can’t even say in a sentence what/who far leftists are. |
missjekyll:Very keen to know/hear your description/definition of what Far Left is/means. |
Madeu:Very good for you. Well done. Just out of curiosity. Just sheer curiosity, and you can help a lot by mentioning. Thank goodness it’s a faceless forum so no one will know your financial health. Approximately how much did you get in refunds? And approximately how much did you lose out on? My example above was a hypothetical case, maybe you could help us with a real case. Others may want to do a risk-analysis to see if they can tow your path. |
Madeu:The devil is in the details. You may have ‘lost’ more money than you think/thought. My understanding of withdrawing your pension contributions within 2 years is: 1. Your pension contribution has to be a defined benefit scheme. 2. You only get refunded your own contribution. All employer contribution is lost, forever. For example, if your contribution was 5% and your employer was contributing 5% too then you may have a personal contribution of £10,000 where half of that (£5,000) is your contributions while the other half is your employer contribution. When you want to withdraw within 2 years, you are only eligible to withdraw £5,000. The other £5000 is gone like the wind. It gets even more interesting. You haven’t just ‘lost’ £5000. Let’s look at what happens to your own £5000 3. You will be charged a 20% tax on that 5k (I hope my dearest sister MissJekyll doesn’t instigate Rachel Reeves to increase that to 40%). 20% of £5,000 = £1,000 Therefore you are only eligible to get £5000 - £1000 = £4,000 It doesn’t end there. The pension funds company (we called them Pension fund administrators back then in Naija) e.g Royal London or Nest, or NOW-Pensions or Aviva or AJ Bell or Aegon etc… will take their own cut, it’s usually small. For argument sake, let’s put it at 1%. 1/100 x 4,000 = £40 Total deduction = £1,040 Your take home = £3,960 cash. Happy right? How much have you ‘lost’? £10,000 - £3,960 = £6,040 £6,040 is your loss. That’s not such a big loss, is it? |
kode12:My husband came home with this sometime last year. It’s only little pebbles and small rocks 🪨 I haven’t put inside to try it. Otherwise… Ogbono, yam, cassava…I have tried them all, this monster crushed em all.

justwise:Justwise… if it’s MissJelyll, you go explain tire. I listen to LBC a lot. There is a presenter called James O’Brien. He has a favorite analogy of ‘Footbalification of politics’ According to his analogy, core football fans can tie the 🧣 scarves of their beloved team so tightly around their necks that it cuts off oxygen supply to the brain. They don’t want to know any other rational point of view. For people on the far left (like MissJekyll here), the other side of the story doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter if thugs kick and beat and brutalise the police. What matters is a 20 second video, clipped to show the aftermath of a police action. If it’s MissJekyll, you go explain tire, even with evidence. If the evidence is not from Guardian, she is not interested. |
They have started… Before Elections: Our plans are fully costed and will not require any tax rises. We have looked at the books and our plans are fully, fully costed. After Elections: Uhmm… sorry. We may have to raise your taxes because the past government left too much black hole. Wait a minute, the UK is not Nigeria. The OBR already gave you precise figures. You ran your voice hoarse during the campaigns that you have it all figured out. Now you are in government… “E be like say dem wan to tell us another story again..” It remains to be seen how long they will continue to lie and blame ‘16 years of the PDP’ oh sorry… 14 years of the Conservatives. Like I said before… Like UK Labour, like Nigeria APC. Just capitalise on people’s discontent with the governing party. Lie your way to power. Realise that there is only so much lies you can keep doling out…. Then blame ‘past administrations’.
|
missjekyll:Buhari promised more than this. Tinubu’s budget and mission statement promised more than this. Like APC (Nigeria), like Labour Party (UK). I hope and pray Labour (UK) delivers on at least 1/2 of what they promised/promising. Na all of us go enjoy. But me like dis… I’m not optimistic that they will. |

missjekyll:His ‘Blackness’ is from Zambia. I don’t recall ever mentioning or implying that any of them is not British. Did I? |
Another one bites the dust. Let me be cheeky and put it here, before they come. Scotland: 🏴 Brown Pakistani ❌ Wales: 🏴 Black Zambian ❌ England: 🏴 Brown Indian - failed by the shenanigans of his party and lost a General Election

Teniremi:Is there somewhere in her initial contract where it explicitly stated that she is bound to pay back costs incurred? Let the nurse go back and do a line-by-line reading of the entirety of her contract. Once she has done that, and she has any more specific questions or clarification, she could ask the relevant personnel in her current trust about any possible contract break clauses. |
rock86:I’m sorry. I apologize, unreservedly. I only thought that you and Kumbhuru will be a good match. You are looking for husband. Kumbhuru is looking for wife. You will arrive soon, Kumbhuru arrived a couple of days (probably weeks) ago. And what is not to admire in a fully-sponsored, all-expenses paid, senior band 6 mental health nurse? If I wasn’t married to hubby darling, I will jump at the prospect of marrying a Kumbhuru. |
missjekyll:I can’t be dragged into this with you. No way. I will say it again. The Far-Right can be despicable. The Far-Left can be despicable too. Your statements above portrays you as the latter. And I will say it (again) you can’t dare write that sh*t you wrote above in the present Labour Party whatsapp group. You will be cautioned, or even kicked out. The current Labour Party (in case you haven’t noticed) is a more considerate, Centre-Left party, rather than this extreme Far-Left tendencies you exhibited (above). I don’t wish to fight you. I just wish you be cautious, even in anonymous fora, like Nairaland. |
kumbhuru:I know a girl who just got her BRP email. She should be arriving soon. She is a mental health nurse, band 6. I hear she is looking for husband too. Let me tag her, hopefully you two can link up, as soon as you leave your hotel room. @rock86: any interest? |
missjekyll:Whereas people on the ‘far-right’ could be despicable, I reckon people on the ‘far-left’ are equally despicable. Not sure you will be proud to write this in your Labour Party WhatsApp group chat or even, let your employer know that you use such language and threats against people who disagree with your politics. |
missjekyll:Interesting times… No single group has an outright majority. So France has a centrist president, a far-Right majority in Europe and a far-Left coalition in the Assembly.
|
rock86:It’s been decades since some of us passed through that route. But there is some I (we) all know who just landed recently. They may have more updated version of events. Let me tag them, they may be able to signpost you properly. @Kumbhuru, please do you mind sharing you recent experience with @rock 86, please? Cheers |
kumbhuru:No, we mustn’t. Sometime ls we find time to talk about idiots. And there is no shortage of them. |

justwise:I have been on Nairaland long enough to know not to engage in high level debate with you. You asked a question. I provided an answer. I believe your question has been fully answered. Any other long grammar is your opinion. But yes, it is perfectly legitimate for a BLACK person to vote Donald Trump or Nigel Farrage. Reason: Blackness or ‘Christianness’ is not the only parameter for consideration. A Bible-believing Christian can vote for Trump because the Bible says Love your Neighbour. And that person could be Trump’s neighbour. You need to be more nuanced in these things. Have a great day. |
rock86:Welcome back Kumbhuru. We miss you. As a specialist mental health nurse, you are a full grown matured adult. You are more than capable of making your own decisions. You may wish to befriend whomsoever you want to befriend, and run away from whomsoever you want to stay away from. Cheers mate. |
makazona:your friend was not yet ready for driving test as per the bolded. He should plead guilty, and take any punishment on the chin. |
justwise:Come on Justwise. You are more than this. I honestly think you are capable of a more nuanced assumption/thinking/point of view. Your thought (on this matter) assumes that ALL Christians think the same (or should think the same). Your submission seem to suggest that ALL Blaxk people think the same, or should think the same. Your argument on this issue assumes that exactly the same thing matters to All Black people. Even your own blood brother or sister, heck even your own identical twin does not like or dislike exactly 100% of the things you like or dislike. I am a black woman, I will vote for Trump because I like position on abortion. I am a Christian, I voted for Nigel Farage because I like his idea of increased threshold for taxation. Those things matter to me, because I am me. Not because I am a Christian or a black woman. |

080bjaked:The Entry officers are practically robots. ‘Computer says No’ people. When a friend of mine applied visa for his biological son to come as a dependant, a child whose mother had already been granted visa, meaning both parents were in the UK. The child’s birth cert was missed. Visa was rejected. They applied the next day. Included birth cert. Visa was granted. |
