Cchuks27: The last time I checked Nigeria wasn't just made of North and West. It belongs to everybody and every region. Both the small and the big, it belongs to everybody.
Only when the North and West believe in this ideaology will I support them. They should stop bullying other regions and tribes well its seems like its the minorities that are now bullying the majority in this current situation cos I can recall that the westerners and the norterners are not the ones forcing the inec to postpone the election |

Marvin67: I decided a long time ago, not to vote for either PDP or APC in this election because in don't believe either of them. But what is true should be said. Holding elections on the 14th would have led to a calamity. In 2011, there was bloodshed and violence, but after that (as a result of militarisation) we saw violence free elections in Edo, Ekiti, and Osun. Those elections were not just free and fair, but also violence free (thanks to the military). Now the military has said because it would be focused on the NE, it cannot guarantee security, yet people still want elections to go on. If you follow the news you'd know that violence is already cooking up. PDP has nothing to gain from this postponement, the same way APC has nothing to lose, infact APC just has one more reason to throw stones at the president. The biggest gainers are those who are yet to get their PVC's and those who are in areas that are prone to violence. From the news of the past one week its very obvious that the military and the other organizations are in the pocket of the president, and its also very obvious that if jega could provide his own security he would have gone on with the election. And don't say that the pdp does not have something to gain from shifting the poll because from all indications it was was getting clearer that they were going to lose ethe election, AIT conducted their polls even after airing the satanic documentary about GMB, Reno omokri did his own on twitter GMB also won, shifting the polls by six weeks will help them to restrategise on how they are going to rig the election cos they are definitely not going to win a free and fair one |

barcanista: This election postponement is most embarrassing and a testament that Preofessor Attahiru Jega is an incompetent and clueless dude just like the President. This is the first time since we returned to democracy that the INEC Boss will openly take orders from the NSA, the Military and members of pro-PDP as regards election scheduling and rescheduling. Since when has the Military activities determines elections scheduling? The Electoral Act and the Constitution did not say NSA, Military and INEC should determine election date. Even if there is crises in a part of the country, Section 26(1) of the Electoral Act 2010 (amended) permit INEC to hold election in the peaceful area and reschedule for the trouble zone at a convenient date. Why can't Jega invoke this section and exclude Gombe, Borno, Adamawa and Yobe from Feb 14 and Feb 28 poll until March 28 and Aprill 11 respectively? Since when do we need the Military for election? What is the Statutory duties of the Police, the NSCDC, and by extension the DSS with respect to internal security? If personnels are not enough then why not bring in other paramilitary to assist? Must it be the Military? Was the Military used in 2003, 2007 and 2011 election? Militarisation started from Edo 2012,then Ondo(2012), Anambra(2011), Osun and Ekiti(2014) Gubernatorial contests. When did the Military become statutory responsible for internal security? The letter of the Chief of Defense State that was communicated to Jega through NSA Sambo Dasuki is treachery and unfortunate. Jega's announcement yesternight only confirmed that he doesn't know what he is doing. This is a shame, our democracy has been raped. if u read the full text of jega's speech you wouldn't be blaming jega one bit Do you expect jega to provide security for inec officials when all then security agencies have backed out and when inec officials are finally killed you will be the one that will be blaming jega for not postponing the election |

CCsurplus007: Now this is what I have been telling my friends, tell us what you want to do and how you intend doing it not some public charade of lies and deception. When we have thousands of intellectuals to choose from, I wonder what we should still be doing with someone still arguing about his secondary school certificate. May God deliver Nigeria
But prof, someone reading this piece would imagine we were living in El-Dorado during obj's tenure. One would have assumed OBJ was pope john paul or the messiah.why was the railway not working during your tenure? despite the huge sums injected into the power sector yet phcn failed. Why wasnt any of our university among the best 200 then? rather Obj built personal libraries and universities to his name. All federal Government projects in the east was stopped or frustrated.what of the monopolistic approach of Obj when only Dangote was allowed to import anything and frustrated other peoples businesses that were opposed to him.since the agricultural sector was better during obj's tenure why dint it add to our foreign reserves and massive corruption in that sector was still rife. what about the haliburton and other numerous scandals. Soludo did not tell us that increasing workers salary then affected our recurrent expenditure now.
The thing is anybody can come and reel out figures as if it paradise during thier own era. This is a nice presentation but not without some personal bias I still think both parties can learn a lot from this if they objectively look at the salient points raised. Nobody is saying obj was a saint during his tenure but comparing both tenures we all know that obj's tenure is far far better gej's. even if obj didnt do anything he cleared all the debts owed by Nigeria to foreign investors so that the incoming govt wont have the burden of debts on their neck. And I can also remember vividly that the only achievement that gej have been using to campaign which is the reintroduction of trains was started during obj's regime. |

There are enough men on ground in the north east to do that, it doesn't stop them from working in other parts of the country. You cannot do this kind of proving by drawing lines or using simple software instead of high precision tools in a lab. It becomes contestible anywhere. But if this is true, then please approach te court very fast so that we can concentrate on the crux of the matter for the election. It is drawing very close for meaningless distractions.
Hey!!! we got high calibre forensic scientist in Nigeria ? and bombs go off everyday without a trace of the bomber? Kidnapping with ramsom paid and kidnappers vanish into thing air? yet no one attempts to do this even for a fee for us? diasgodooooo!!! my point exactly just look at how they have been seriously searching for a thing that has been long lost They have searched for it from katsina to army headquarters to the u.s war college and now to cambridge maybe they will need to get to india or china before they find it
please quickly apply same method and go trace our missing girls and the bombers that have kept out heart beating twice the nomal. Else just keep your tap shut. Okay? |
