Notwithstanding that Nigeria is a polygamous society, where a man contracted his first marriage under the Act, he is required by law to obtain a divorce before entering into a second marriage. Having not obtained a divorce and now proceeding with a second marriage, he is committing bigamy, an offence punishable by law. It is only permissible to marry more than one wife where the marriage was contracted under customary law and our religious beliefs.

The victory of Accord party in Osun state guber election should not make Nigeria relax that a level playing field will be allowed in 2027. Nigerian most not relent and vote according to their conscience in 2027. The economy should be the main determinant in 2027 general election. Good luck to Osun people.

The people of Osun have spoken clearly, and the opposition should accept the outcome of the election.
