EnEnPeecee:where did you get this information? |
I'm not interested in all that gibberish, what I'm interested in is this part "NAN reports that the recruitment of 10,000 policemen is at its last stage of interview, scheduled to hold in Abuja on a date yet to be announced". Is it that the next and last phase is interview? |
The Police Service Commission (PSC) has warned recruitment fraudsters still opening and operating fake Facebook accounts of its chairman to deceive unsuspecting applicants to desist from such act. The commission gave the warning in a statement by its Head of Press and Public Relations, Mr Ikechukwu Ani, in Abuja on Tuesday. Ani said that the commission discovered a new face book account of the Chairman, Mr Mike Okiro, on Monday, after it threatened to arrest and prosecute the brains behind such act in the past. He said that fraudsters were said to be using the account to demand for payments as guarantee for recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force. “The commission wishes to state that its chairman has no official or private facebook account and has never operated one. “Applicants for police recruitment are advised to ignore the fraudsters and report any such incident to the nearest police station. “The commission warns that perpetrators will soon be rounded up and dealt with in accordance with the law,’’ he said. Ani added that the commission would remain resolute in its decision to ensure that the recruitment exercise was concluded without blemish. “The commission has since ensured that the exercise is transparent, merit-driven and based on established criteria.’’ NAN reports that the recruitment of 10,000 policemen is at its last stage of interview, scheduled to hold in Abuja on a date yet to be announced. enshi:Learn to give people benefits of the doubt, I understand they've been lots of misleading information and wrong speculations on the thread lately but what do you expect judging from the large number of applicants? You just have to take the good with the bad sometimes. |

jagoshogz:They specialise in in-house employment. I tried submitting my cv at one thier office at Benin and was told they only accept I.t placement for now. And the management is even retrenching workers at the moment. |

There were strong indications yesterday that the Police Service Commission (PSC) may have suspended the final phase of selecting 10,000 successful candidates for recruitment into the Nigeria Police. New Telegraph gathered from highly placed sources that the decision to suspend the last phase (final selection) was informed by pressure from some National Assembly members. The bone of contention, it was gathered, is the alleged demand that the Commission adopt the “local government by local government” arrangement. This request was said to have been rejected by the Commission, which insisted on sticking to the “state-by-state” tradition, in accordance with the federal character principle. Investigations further revealed that the Inspector- General of Police (IGP), Mr. Ibrahim Idris, had allegedly written to the PSC, wherein he was said to have reminded the Com-mission that it (PSC) has since ceded the power to recruit Constables to the Police. It was learnt that the Commission had ceded that responsibility to the Force Headquarters, but with the understanding that it will be carried out in conjunction with the PSC. This was even as it was alleged that some officers working with the Commission in Jigawa State, where the commissioners and the Chairman, Sir Mike Okiro, had temporarily relocated to, were allegedly withdrawn. Okiro and his commissioners were said to have moved to Jigawa State to stave-off pressure, thereby selecting the “best” for the Police. One of the sources, who spoke in confidence with this newspaper, said the chairman and other commissioners have since left Jigawa. “I’m not speaking to you officially, but I want to inform you that the Commission has suspended the last phase, which is the final selection of the 10,000 successful candidate for training. “The suspension – please note this – of this phase, is because the signals the Commission is getting is not clear at all. Some highly placed personalities are insisting that the local government-by-local government arrangement be adopted. The leadership of the Commission insisted on sticking to the state-bystate tradition, which, they believe, is what the constitution and the federal character principle favour,” he said. Asked to name who these “highly placed personalities” are, the source said: “The chairman of one of the Committees in the House of Representatives (name withheld) had called to make the demand. He insisted, and even went to the extent of saying it is not the job of the Commission to recruit. “The chairman and his commissioners were doing final selection where nobody will disturb them.” According to him, “they chose Jigawa State because they wanted a quiet place to enable them select the best.” Another source told New Telegraph that: “Usually, when the Commission is doing recruitment, they call the Police, like the senior officer or officers in charge of training, police doctors and tailors to take measurements.” Asked what will happen now that the final selection, which was to be concluded this week, has been put on hold, he noted: “The Commission needs to know the position of the Presidency, which will guide our direction. “As I speak with you, our Chairman and the Senate Committee Chairman on Police Affairs are still trying to have an appointment with Mr. President, who is the final authority on this matter.” The source alleged that: “Representatives of the Police (Force Headquarters) were there, including the Jigawa CP, but they were withdrawn last Friday.” New Telegraph was still expecting a reply to a text message sent to the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Mr. Don Awunah, a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), as at the time of filing this report. Out of the 10,000 personnel to be recruited, 500 are Cadet Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs), 500 will be Cadet Inspectors, 1,500 will be specialist officers, while 7,500 will be Constables. http://www.financialwatchngr.com/2016/10/13/psc-suspends-final-selection-nigeria-police-recruitment/ |

The recruitment of 10,000 into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) is experiencing delay. It was learnt that the delay in the recruitment process may not be unconnected with disagreement between the legislative and executive arms of government. The National Assembly under the Police Affairs Committee in the Senate and House of Representatives resolved that recruitment should be on the basis of equality of local governments. Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Vice President Yemi Osibanjo, it was gathered, however directed selection of qualified candidates should be based on equality of states as enshrined in the constitution and Federal Character principle. A reliable source in the Police Service Commission hinted that the conflicting directives have put both arms of government at loggerheads. The source also noted that the Commission is being pressurised to do their bidding. Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Mike Okiro, has ordered that the recruitment processes should be put on hold pending until executive and the legislature iron out their differences. President Muhammadu Buhari last year ordered that 10,000 Police Officers be recruited to address the dwindling man power problem. The Police Service Commission embarked on the recruitment process through the use of cutting hedge IT, an exercise described as the first of its kind in Nigeria. When the recruitment portal closed to applicants, the Commission disclosed one million applicants indicated interest for various positions advertised. Out of the 1million application submitted, 400,000 applicants were shortlisted for physical screening. Out of the 400,000 applicants, about 160,000 applicants were invited for Aptitude Test, which consisted of specialists and general duty personnel. To ensure smooth selection process of 10,000 qualified personnel from the shortlisted candidates, the commission moved to Jigawa State for the final selection. http://thenationonlineng.net/fg-nass-row-stall-recruitment-10000-police-officers/ |

marqueetim:thank you! |
It is possible people have been contacted for certain clarification. I'm not refuting that, I was told Agip is still shortlisting and they are yet to hear from them, I would advise some other persons to contact scholastica and give us feedback. |
Y'all should be patient, I contacted Dragnet solutions yesterday and was told that successful candidate has not yet been contacted and the shortlisting is still ongoing by Agip. Let's be hopeful and probably give them a little more time. Cheers. |
