ME: I FINISHED FROM IMO STATE UNIVERSITY WITH A 2ND CLASS UPPER HONOURS IN 2016 AND IMMEDIATELY, I PROCEEDED TO THE NIGERIAN LAW SCHOOL AND FINISHED IN 2017 & WAS CALLED TO THE NIGERIAN BAR IN DECEMBER 2017.

V0: I CAN SEE YOU HAVE AN OUTSTANDING SCHOLARSHIP, HOW DID YOU GET IT?

ME: IT'S A MERIT BASED SCHOLARSHIP FROM THE COLLEGE OF LAW. I WAS AWARDED THE SCHOLARSHIP DUE TO MY ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE.

The V.O was just asking and i was answering.... Until he asked, how many schools did you apply for?? In truth, I applied only one, but my Uncle and his people advised me to say 3 or more ..... So,
V.O : how many schools did you apply for??
Me : 3
V.O : name them
Me : Southeast east Missouri State University, Long island University and Columbia University
V.O : Do you have GRE??
Me : No
V.O : How did you apply for Columbia without GRE .....
... Ghen ghen, nai my mind cut�.. I began to muster and mumble words like: yeah, I applied Southeast and Long Island. And then,
V.O : But you said you applied Columbia���
Me : yes, they didn't require GRE....���

The next thing, nai V.O give me pink paper and said:
Sorry, you don't qualify. So, what do I do next?? Candid opinions please��

Cleveland State University is broke. Our CIS dept have No funding. They will prolly admit you but without funding and non will be forthcoming.

I'll advice you to take any offer that comes with funding. If all offers are the same, I'll advice you to take Northwest Missouri state University Ms Information systems degree if the program is being done in their business school. I won't advice anyone to go for a data science or business analytics degree over a business school run information systems degree except he/she has years of working experience in hard core analytics.

IS degree gives you more flexibility than data science or business analytics alone. There's a rumour that Covid 19 has burst the data science hype. If business are broke, then businesses won't be experimenting much on data science. So it's better to go for IS degree that you can venture into data engineer, DBMS, data analytics, data science, cloud computing and even software development

Please ooo, advisers and gurus in the house, kindly advise me on this. I no sabi anything oo. Na beg I dey beg. Let me quicky apprise you on the following. I have been admitted to the following schools for fall 2020:
(1) Rowan University ( MS Data Analytics, awaiting GA)-
(2)Mercyhurst University (Ms. Data Science)-awaiting GA
(3) Bowling Green State University (MS Data Science)- awaiting GA
(4) NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE UNIVERSITY (MS Information Systems)

Here is my thinking:
(1) Due to this extraordinary time, I want to defer the admissions
(2) Due to the paucity of funds, I want to make Northwest Missouri state Uni my final bus stop. since it is cheaper even without funding. But they do award GA second semester and they have on-campus jobs.

Please note I have the following pending
(a) Grand valley state University (MS Applied Computer Science, Ms. Health informatics (just a trial)). I got a reject for MS Data Science and Analytics
(b) Cleveland State University (Ms. Computer information systems, Ms. Software Engineering)
(c) Southeast Missouri State University (MNS Mathematics).

I NEED YOUR CANDID ADVICE PLSSS. Is there anyone in this schools I have been admitted including Grand Valley State University.

Guys, I must commend your good work here. What do you guys think of these schools:
(1)Rowan University (Admitted for Spring 2020 but deferred for Fall 2020( MS Data analytics). I am waiting their decision on a graduate assistant
(2) Mercyhurst University (Admitted, Ms. Data Science)---Working on GA
(3) Grand Valley State University(MS Data Science and analytics)---Under Review.No admission decision yet
(4) Northwest Missouri State Uni (MS information System, or applied Computer Science)---in progress
(5) Bowling Green State University (MS data Science, and MA mathematics/ Scientific computation)---Awaiting Recommendation letters

pls, any Naija in all these schools to please give me heads-up. What do you think about these schools in terms of a graduate assistant?

Hello...Happy New Year to everyone here.

I’ve been admitted for a Masters in Communications at Grand Valley State University but no funding/ GA yet.

Please I want to know if I should go ahead and pay my Sevis fee for my I-20 to be prepared or wait till I get a GA cus I think a funding/GA status is something that reflects on the I-20 document.

Please anyone with a helpful response...I will
be reading.

My school specifically said they won't accept investment kini as proof of financial support before sending I-20. Bearing that in mind I am not sure you should use it either especially if it's for your uncle
