Mr. Adegbenga Dada, who is a marine engineer and a prince from Eruku in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, has said his wife demands money before sex.

He said this in a suit filed before a Kwara High Court, sitting in Ilorin. Dada is seeking the dissolution of his 28-year-old marriage to Roseline Dada over allegation of adultery.

He alleged that his wife is promiscuous and this has affected her domestic duties, adding that she had involved their female children by sending them on errands to collect money from her numerous male friends.

Adegbenga, who is from Kwara, but is based in Lagos, said: “My wife abandoned our bedroom and packed to the guest room. She would insist unless I issue cheque for substantial amount, she would not succumb to my sexual advances. Any failure to issue cheque will result in total denial.

“The marriage has broken down because my wife and I are no longer able to sit down together to discuss about our lives and that of our children.”

He also prayed the court to grant him custody of the three children produced by the union.

Roseline in her response denied the allegations while accusing her husband of adultery.

She, however, said that she was not opposed to the dissolution of the marriage but prayed the court to grant her part ownership of their Lagos building which she said was a joint project executed by her and the petitioner.

During the trial, the petitioner through his counsel, Mr. Josiah Adebayo, said the nude pictures of the respondent with a lover retrieved from her phone was to add to the weight of the evidence and not to ridicule her.

Delivering her judgement, Justice S.T Abdulqadri granted the dissolution of the marriage, saying she found the evidence presented before the Court on the allegations of adultery against the respondent to be true.

She held that the respondent, Mrs. Dada had no joint ownership of a Lagos state residential property with the petitioner.

The court did not however grant the custody of the three children of the 28 years old marriage to any of the parties, as it held that the children are adults who are above 20 years of age.

A former President of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Tee Mac, has revealed the alleged age of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.

I picked up my suitcase and headed downstairs.

I saw my wife Vanessa watching TV.

"My goodness! Isn't it too early for a responsible married woman to watch TV" I thought within myself.

"Good morning love" I said as she glanced at me.

"Good morning Patrick" She said with her eyes fixed on the television.

I headed straight to the dinning table.

"Isn't it too early to watch TV love? It's just 6:30..." I smiled as I sat on the dinning.

"And how is that your business? Am watching with my eyes not yours so fvck off!" She said rudely as I gulped.

Am used to her rudeness already.

She's really very saucy and am left with no choice than to bear it.

"She even cooked breakfast for me? She has really changed a little" I thought as I smiled.

I quickly opened the covered plates on the dinning and got the shock of my life.

"WTF" I screamed in displease

"Oh please keep your voice down Patrick! Am watching my favorite show" Vanessa said from the sitting room.

I fumed in anger as I stormed into the sitting room.

"Vanessa! What is that supposed to mean?" I asked angrily as I turned off the television and she flared up.

"What the heck is wrong with you Mr Patrick Argus? Why are you displaying your stupid cranky characters this morning?" She snorted.

"You are my wife for crying out loud Vanessa.... So you can't prepare breakfast for me?" I asked furiously as she burst into laughter.

"Oh my God! Are you serious? Should I do that?" She mocked as I burned up in annoyance

"What kind of a wife are you Vanessa? I can't believe this... You served pop corn in the dinning as my breakfast" I blurted

"And so what? You should be grateful that I even had to stress myself serving you pop corn as breakfast" She scoffed as she sat on the couch with her legs crossed.

"I mean what do I possibly do with the pop corn? While you sit here watching TV and going to parties all day" I said

"Stop barking around Patrick! What do you expect me to do? Walk into the kitchen and prepare you a cup of coffee or cereals? No damn way!" She said

"Why won't you? Are you not my wife and the mother of my daughter?" I asked angrily as she roared in laughter making me more annoyed.

"Shut the fvck up Patrick! Like ever wanted to be a mother.... Listen up boy! I am not your cook neither am I your slave, I can't even cook.... Ew! That's filthy" She exclaimed as I shook my head in anger.

"Vanessa you are making a terrible mistake... Now look at it! You don't care if your child will go to school.... You don't even prepare her for school! I had to wake up every morning and do that yet I go to work on an empty stomach" I asked

"That's your business! You know when I was pregnant of that baby, I told you I wasn't ready to be a mom and that I wanted to abort her but you refused so carry your cross" She furrowed her brows.

"It's been four years since we got married and our daughter is four yet you still regret her existence?" I said in annoyance

"Of course Patrick! Can't you see it? I almost lost my body shape and lovely stature when I gave birth to her... I've always told you I want us to go back to the states" She said as she opened a packet of chewing gum and started chewing.

"I have no time for this right now!" I heaved a sigh as I picked up my suitcase and walked out.

"Whatever! Like I care" She said blowing and making noisy sounds with the gum.

"Kyra! Kyra!! Where are you baby? Come downstairs... Am leaving" I said loudly as Kyra walked down stairs.

"Am here daddy" her tiny voice said as I helped her down.

"That's my princess" I pecked her.

"Let's go?" I asked and she rolled her eyes.

"Daddy! My stomach is grumbling... Am so famished, can't we at least eat at home for once.... That's how my classmates do dad?" Little Kyra asked.

I gulped nervously.

"Well you see baby, we can't! I'll buy you food in a restaurant OK?" I pretended

"Good morning mommy! Did you cook breakfast?" Kyra asked as Vanessa scoffed.

"Just go to school Kyra.... Your mom is not a cook and do as your daddy says" Vanessa said turning on the TV.

"You'll regret your actions Nessa" I said as she sighed loudly.

"In your dreams Patrick" She said as I walked out.

"It's because of mommy" She said as her mood changes.

"Of course she does baby, why do you ask?" I asked

"Because I feel she doesn't.... She just wants to go back to the states where she hardly come home everyday" Kyra said

"Ice cream? This early morning? I thought you said its bad to take sugary things in the morning when we haven't had breakfast?" Kyra said as I nodded smiling.

"That's right I forgot" I lied as she smiled broadly.

"Mmhhh.... Yummy Clara" my younger sister Marie said as she spooned a large amount of noddles into her mouth.

"Really?" I smiled excitedly

"Of course Clara... You are such a good cook and someday you will be a great chef" Marie said

"That's what am hoping Marie... And that time, I will own a very big restaurant of my own and I will make a lot of money so that we can move into a better and bigger apartment" I said happily

"It will definitely come true Clara..." Marie said as she picked up the glass of water and drank.

"That reminds me, guess what? I got a job at the restaurant as a cook" I announced excitedly.

"Oh my! Am so happy!!" Marie jumped for joy as we hugged each other.

"Aah..... Aah" Mother cleared her throat noisily as walked in.

"Oh mother! You startled us" we said in unison

"Sorry girls" mother said as she sat down dishing her food.

"You know what Clara, talking about getting.... There are lots of things you need to get apart from a job"" Mother said as I fluttered my eyes.

"Like what mother?" Marie asked

"Like getting a BOYFRIEND.." Mother said as I choked.....

ASUU has finally agreed to call off its long strike action but reiterated that it will only happen if the federal government meets two major demands

The president of ASUU, Prof. Emmanuel Osedeke said the only reason why the strike will be called off is if the federal agrees to the UTAS payment platform and concur with the 2009 treaty

He, however, stated that the agitation against the government was in the best interest of Nigerian students



FCT, Abuja - The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) said it is ready to call off the over three-month-old strike if only certain conditions are met by the federal government, the guardian newspaper  reported.

As gathered by Reloaded.ng, the leadership of ASUU said the conditions to be met include the federal government accepting the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) payment platform and also concurring with the 2009 agreement.

This was made known by the national president of ASUU, Prof. Emmanuel Osedeke on Monday, July 4 during an interview on Channels TV.

He said:



“Let government tell us they have finished testing the UTAS and sign the agreement, then tomorrow we will call off the strike.

“We challenge the government, when would they sign the agreement? When would they accept UTAS? These are the two questions we should ask the Nigerian government.”

"We're simply fighting for students", says ASUU

According to Prof. Osedeke, ASUU’s agitation is in the best interest of Nigerian students in other to ensure they have a conducive and enabling environment for learning.

While speaking on the program, the ASUU president made reference to neighbouring countries like Ghana as well as South Africa whom he said had a better educational system than Nigeria.

He however reiterated that if an agreement is reached and stipulations are signed, ASUU will call off the strike.

Prior to the latest development, ASUU has been in a heated battle with federal government for its refusal to honour the 2009 agreement it entered with the union.

The agreement contains a series of demands with one of them being the preferred use of the UTAS payment platform instead of the federal government recommended IPPIS.

Others include review of salary, allowances, rehabilitation of infrastructure and other facilities in universities and a host of others.

Buhari to give final resolution on ASUU strike, UTAS, says Ngige

Meanwhile, the minister for labour and employment, Dr Chris Ngige has revealed that decisions on will soon be made on the UTAS payment platform.

According to Ngige, President Muhammadu Buhari will issue a directive in light of the issue and as well as increment of salaries for lecturers

Ngige made this known via a statement on Sunday, June 26 stating that the inter-ministerial departments and agencies committees of the federal government would in turn in their reports on Wednesday, June 29 to help in the decision of the president.

FG moves to end ASUU strike with payment of n34bn minimum wage arrears

Similarly, reports have it that the federal government is on the verge of coughing out N34bn for payment of arrears for workers.

Chris Ngige who made the disclosure on Tuesday noted that the payment is not meant for ASUU alone but would also include academic staff members of Polytechnics and Colleges of Education..

4. Monetizing Reels

Instagram's Reels Play Bonus program will soon open to a larger pool of creators on Facebook. This will allow creators to cross-post their Instagram Reels to Facebook to monetize on both social media platforms, if they meet the bonus criteria.

5.Creator marketplace

Instagram is currently testing a creator marketplace where creators can get discovered and paid for their work. Brands will be able to use this marketplace to share new partnership and sponsorship opportunities with creators.

6.Digital collectibles

Testing is currently being done to allow more creators to display their non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on Instagram. Meta also hopes to bring this feature to Facebook to allow cross-posting. In the future, creators will be able to share NFTs through Instagram Stories.

It'll be interesting to see what creators think about these efforts. If they can more easily make money off of their platforms, they'll likely want to create more content.

Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, requested his release on bail pending the outcome of the treasonable felony charge the federal government had brought against him. The Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed this request on Tuesday.

Kanu, who is currently charged with seven counts, also contested the court’s decision to revoke the bail that it had previously granted him in the application he submitted through his legal team, which was led by Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN.

He specifically urged the court to set aside the order it made on March 28, 2019, which not only issued a bench warrant for his arrest, but also gave FG the nod to try him in absentia.

The IPOB leader told the court that contrary to FG’s allegation that he jumped bail, he said that he fled for his life after his home town at Afaraukwu Ibeku in Umuahia, Abia State, was invaded by soldiers, which he said led to the death of 28 persons.

Contending that he was denied fair hearing before his bail was revoked, Kanu, attached eight exhibits that included photographs, as well as an affidavit he deposed to from Isreal after he fled from the country.

Meanwhile, dismissing the bail request on Tuesday, trial Justice Binta Nyako, said she was not satisfied with the reason the IPOB leader gave for his failure to appear in court for continuation of his trial.

The trial judge noted that frok records of the court, Kanu, was represented by his lawyer on the day his bail was revoked, likewise his sureties.

“In fact, he sureties told the court that they did not know the whereabout of the Defendant and even applied to be discharged from the matter.

“Therefore, the Defendant was not denied fair hearing”.

Besides, Justices Nyako held that though a court could vacate a previous order when confronted with a cogent and verifiable reason, “in the instant case, I have not been given any, neither have I been given any reason to set-aside the order.

“The present application amounts to an abuse of court process for attempting to relitigate an issue already decided by the court.

“If the Defendant is dissatisfaction, he has the Appeal Court to go to.

“This application is accordingly dismissed”, Justice Nyako held.

It will be recalled that the court had also on March 18, declined to release the embattled IPOB leader on bail.

The court maintained that Kanu must explain the reason why he breached the previous bail that was given to him, before he could enjoy another favourable discretion from it.

“Until the issue of the absence of the defendant for his trial, with all the bail conditions breached, is determined, the instant application of the defendant for bail will at best be premature and it is refused.

“However, the defendant is at liberty to re-file the application”, Justice Nyako added.

The Edo State Police Command has said that the parish priest of St. Michael Catholic Church, lkhabigbo, Edo State, Rev. Fr. Christopher Odia, who was abducted in the early hours of Sunday, June 26, was killed during a rescue operation.

 

Late Odia was preparing for mass that Sunday morning when he was whisked away by the men who stormed his premises.

 

In a statement released, the state Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Jennifer Iwegbu, said the abductors shot and killed the clergyman as the police arrived to rescue him. Iwegbu added that one of the kidnappers was also killed during the rescue operation while other members of the gang sustained gunshot injuries.

A support group for Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi has reacted to the controversy surrounding the academic qualification of Bola Tinubu.

Bola Tinubu is the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former Governor of Lagos State had claimed that unknown persons stole his school certificates during the military rule in 1990.

Tinubu stated this in an affidavit submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as part of his eligibility filings for the 2023 presidential elections.

It was gathered that documents released last Friday by the electoral umpire show that Tinubu left the columns for his primary and secondary education unmarked.

Tinubu, however, noted that he obtained a degree in business and administration in 1979 at the Chicago State University.

Reacting to the development, the Deputy Director of Communications of The Peter Obi Support Network, Adegbite Adekunle, said that the APC does not have a qualified presidential candidate, given the particulars published by INEC.

In a statement on Sunday, Adekunle said that Tinubu’s educational background is shrouded in mystery following the records submitted to the electoral body.

He, however, stated that Nigerians deserve a President like Peter Obi whose records are not subject to credible controversies.

The much-talked-about merger between Labour Party (LP) and New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) might not see the light of the day.

On Saturday morning, the presidential candidate of the NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, confirmed that his party was in talks with the Labour Party.

Kwankwaso had said, “We are in talks with Peter Obi and a committee is working to look into how to form a merger between us”.

“The merger is important because as you can see both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) did not pick their running mates from the South-East.”

However, a merger might be legally impossible between both parties before the 2023 general elections.

“First a new party via a merger cannot be formed in time for the election.

“INEC regulation prohibits the registration of a political party less than a year before an election.

“But they can collapse their structure to support one another for specific positions eg, the presidency,” Nicholas Ibekwe, a journalist with Premium Times told DAILY POST.

Deji Adeyanju, a popular socio-political commentator based in Abuja, however, is clear as to what agreement should be reached between Obi and Kwankwaso.

“The merger with the Labour Party and NNPP should have Obi as president and Kwankwaso as VP.

“That’s the only thing that makes sense,” Adeyanju tweeted on Saturday.

Kwankwaso’s NNPP has a large following in the North, while Obi who recently defected from the PDP and joined the Labour Party, has endeared himself to large youth following in the South.

On Friday, Obi named former presidential spokesman, Doyin Okupe, as his running mate.
