Kukutente23: Seems there's no serious security issue in Lagos Even the police CP can't explain how pointing a stun gun at someone is an offence If you know how disorganised Nigeria's police is you can be sure he's just capping So pointing cutlass at a thief who wants to enter your compound is an offence? Like Nigerian law expects you to give him a hug? And we have right to self- defence in the constitution This police should sit down abeg and stop chasing clout Leave them to do their job. This is the kind of country we should want to have — where nobody no matter how powerful is treated specially. At least nobody can say it's because he's Igbo blah blah blah. |

[sub][/sub] Botragelad: First, you quoted me with nonsense. I asked a simple question, but instead of answering, you pulled the classic Islamist propaganda move, which is deflecting and running from the actual argument. Educate yourself and quit whining in my mentions What the guy is saying is there's no difference between what Israel is doing to Gaza and what Iran is currently doing. And BTW both are actually bombing indiscriminately and killing civilians. It's just that Iran no longer tells the number of civilians Israel's bombing result in. We all have our biases, but at least don't let your conscience go numb while at it. |

ruggedtimi: Are you referring to the removal of Prime Minister Mossadegh? My point was simply that Iran was a more progressive and rapidly developing nation under the Shah compared to its current state as an Islamic Republic With the way US and its allies have heaped economic sanctions on Iran, Tehran should actually be looking like Zamfara, but guess what, some Americans on that FB page I got this picture from were shocked and were comparing it to Los Angeles. Which city in Nigeria can be compared to Johannesburg let alone LA?? |

protonz: Stop glorifying nonsense Why do u think its more expensive to live in country homes over there We need more affordable houses. Yes! But cramped up space is no joy. Not even for them, if they could afford it What do you mean cramped up? What you're seeing there is as a result of decades-long city planning enforcement. This is the norm in the modern times—high-rise apartment buildings with invisible roofing sheets not the duplexes with red, green, blue, pink aluminum roofing sheets we are used to in Africa here. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: See What Tehran Looks Like by RenaissanceGuy(op): 7:54pm On Jun 17, 2025 |
Nigeria lacks a concrete city building master plan. Even in areas in Lagos where you have this kind of buildings, you'll see them mixed with buildings with aluminum and iron roofing sheets and you'll see how scattered they are — lacking uniformity.
The photo below is proof

I just came across this photo on Facebook and I had already concluded it was a European city only to see the caption reading Tehran, Iran.
When we say Lagos is a slum, some people don't understand. Can you see the way the buildings were meticulously arranged as if they were built on the same day?

Ikaeniyan0: Iran just knows how to bark. They can't even defend their country from Israel strikes. A lot of their nuclear sites were attacked and some generals were killed in the attack. They have 2 important nuclear site Israel is not able to destroy yet sha They should spend money on good weapons like S500 and S400, SU35 and SU57 etc. You've forgotten how some people also mocked Israel for being unable to stop Hamas attacks that killed many Israelis in Oct 2023. And now the tide has turned 180° against Hamas. It's too early to make conclusion, but I hope this doesn't escalate into something big. |

ariesbull: are you done..... Did Abuja map out those dirty outskirts like NYANYA,KUJE Off Berger etc There are always suburban areas in every city, which is what places like Nyanya, Kubwa Village, Mpape, etc, are. At least when you go to districts like Asokoro, Maitama, Gwarimpa, Wuse, Wuye, you see how very planned those places are - you won't see brown roof mixing up with beautiful buildings or 4 by 4 shops or people frying akara by the roadside. In fact in these places, you'll hardly come across a single inch of ground that's not paved. |
Politics › Re: List Of Africa Cities Developing Massively And Modernly Without Skyscrapers... by RenaissanceGuy: 11:45am On Jun 13, 2025 |
As far as I'm concerned there's only one city in Nigeria and the name is Abuja. To build a city, you map out the whole land, specifying the roads, streets, residential areas, business districts, packs, sidewalks, etc. Only Abuja did this and has been largely following the laid-out plan. Lagos is a pile of slum with dots of skyscrapers and beautiful mansions surrounded or mixed together, and doesn't come close. |

Kemetian: Meanwhile they condemned the practice here as 'backward, primitive and barbaric' and forced zinc roofs on you which they knew would go rusty and give you 'brown roofs', while they cashed out with your thatched roof system in their land, making billions. Meanwhile you, till today, still regard your thatched roofs as a 'sign of poverty' and 'underdevelopment'. Chei.... But you people are mugus sha? Trust me when I say that you need a very big redemption from this repetitive attempt to make people believe old is better when reality shows otherwise. How can you compare these beautiful retro thatched roof houses constructed with stones and concrete, with a fine greenery environment with ours made with mud and situated in smelly environment and scattered without linear or grid arrangement?? |

efemena5050: 110 INJURIES.....NOT DEATH....oga injuries na wound death na die ...know the difference.....if it were 110 death .....Iran would HV paid dearly for it..... But at least that shows you that Iran is not afraid of striking back like many people think. And did Iran tell you that they shot missiles just to cause injuries?? In fact, it's very probable that some US soldiers may have died, but the government hid it, so as to save face. |

Igirigimercenar: Imagine Iran threatening USA. You might hit all their bases in the middle east but your country will be reduced to rubbles. And your Ayotallah captured alive. It's as simple as ABC I do not support war, but have you forgotten Iran retaliated against the US after the US killed their IRGC military chief by launching missiles against a US base that resulted in 110 injuries on US soldiers?? And that was also when Trump was in office in his first term. |

Its really disheartening to understand that the emergence of yoruba government has done a big blow to Nigeria and Nigerians. I wonder how much it would be sold in another four years of yoruba rule....... Good people of Nigeria will prefer every person's regime but yoruba, the reason is beginning to be clear to me You were cheated. I bought a bigger one for ₦35K about 3 years ago. |

Adblg0610: Weep not child. Tinubu is the master of grassroots politics in Nigeria. Tinubu is not in anyway similar to Goodluck Jonathan. Tinubu won the APC 2022 presidential primary elections, despite the fact that the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari, Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Ahmed Lawan, APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, among others did not support him. He won the general elections in 2023, in spite of the artificial scarcity of fuel and naira notes, meant to truncate his success. Imagine that kind of person now being in power, with INEC, CBN, Judiciary, Police, Military , etc taking instructions from him. Khaki no be leather You people should stop rehashing this balderdash about so and so were against him and he still won. Tinubu is just an ordinary human being and he could lose even if Trump endorses him and tells INEC to make sure he wins. |

We need someone to unify nigeria Two... North has never broken their promise to anyone in the History of Nigeria... If North agree 4 years he would do 4 years What Nigeria needs is not "unification anything". It's radical development, federalism or breakup and exit from this Tinubu-induced penury and hyperinflation. |
