No, it's not true. Those people aren't as dumb as we think. Many years ago, I had that worry and I emailed the now-defunct UK's DFID to raise concerns about politicians looting their donations in Nigeria and Africa. Interestingly, the UK official, on the other side, gave me a detailed response of their plans, how they execute them and places they have sited their projects across Nigeria (with pictures) for me to independently verify them.

However, I think their biggest challenge is their Nigerian employees. Those ones sell anything sellable without minding that relief materials are meant to support helpless Nigerians. But you see government officials, they don't give them anything. On rare occasions, they may partner with government officials to work on projects though...through a counterpart funding initiative.

Seun, Nairaland has gone very low. The quality of threads making FP nowadays has become very poooooor. Aside news, every other thing is junk. Why can't you instruct your mods to atleast edit the grammar of personal threads like this one, before pushing them to FP, just the same way they add images. Seun doesn't rate the caliber of people using this site at all.
