People burnt beyond recognition and still burning as I type along the express between Ishagamu and Mowe. A long vehicle probably ran into a car and passenger bus. May the evil on the road not befall us. There were no FRSC officials at the scene of the incidence and some travellers and locals could do very little to rescue burning victims or rush the wounded ones to the hospital.

WHAT SHALL I WEAR? Is it legalistic even to talk about it? Does God have a dress code? Lets see what God says in His word Eph. 4:22~24put off / put on Col. 3: 8~10put off / put on off garments of evil / on garments of righteousness 1 Sam. 16:7But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at his height or his stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. - Here we are talking about his physical form and disposition and not about clothing Rom. 13:14But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts NOTE: God is interested on what’s on the inside; but what we wear is often a gauge of what we are on the inside Consider how society has changed and what is now accepted as normal in the last 50 years Your behaviour sets the tone for how others see you and your faith. Being modest in your appearance is just as great a witness to those around you as your words. One issue many non-Christians have with believers is that they tend to be hypocritical. If you are preaching about purity and modesty to others while wearing revealing clothes you may be seen as a hypocrite. By being modest you allow people to see your inner faith rather than your outer appearance. 1 John 2:16For all that is in the world –– the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life –– is not of the Father but is of the world. Gal. 5:13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. CONSIDER 1 Peter 3:3~4 A Christian should wear what is appropriate and stylish for any given occasion, with proper modesty; God will look on the heart of such a woman with approval. 1 Tim. 2:9 in like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing, but, which is proper for women professing godliness, with good works. Some principles are: (1) maintain the male-female distinction --(balance) Duet. 22:5A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the LORD your God Apparel should indicate the sex of the person; men and women are to honor God in who He created us to be (2) consider the effect our clothing has on our influence Matt. 5:14~16A Christian is to be salt and light in this world. Attire is an important part of our testimony. The way a person dresses is a indication of that persons character and spiritual maturity. Dress for both man or woman should respect the Bible principles of modesty, non-conformed to the fads of the world; and express humility and simplicity. Now, we're not talking about modest in your neighbour's eyes, or friend's, or even family's--but modest in God's eyes. We should set an example in our Churches with how we dress. Clothes should not expose areas of the body that normaly draw attention from the opposite sex. Clothed should not be revealing because of its conforming fit to the body. Also in our appearence we should generally be well shaven, hair reasonably in place as not to look sloppy or uncaring in physical appearance. This also can draw undue attention to yourself. In general your overall appearance should not draw attention to you that would hinder another from focusing their attention to wordhipping the Lord. (3) make sure our clothing does not "offend" anyone The world is not interested in living a life patterned after the Word. Likewise a Christian should not be interested in living a life patterned after the world. The unbelievers prefer dress that draws attention to their bodies, which reflects extravagant and changing fashions. Consider; a man is responsible to guard his mind from impurity and woman is responsible to help responsible to help prevent the lustful stare. Lust in inexcusable on the man’s part; but if a woman by her apparel or conduct has encouraged it, she also shares in the guilt. A Christian should not attract undue attention to herself. Clothes should not be provocative or suggestive, should not expose large areas of the human anatomy nor have a conforming fit with suggestive intent. The Christian should consider how her clothes reveals her body in its normal movements of sitting, standing, bending, etc. Clothes should not be attention getting that would draw attention to self and off of God. Improper dress should not be a problem for the Christians. The person who is born again, and having taken up his cross to follow Christian should lovingly and joyfully follow the Word. If a women dresses provocatively, she can cause a man to sin, similarly the Christian man, should seek a godly appearance. Rom. 14:21it is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak Matt 5:28But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Rom. 14:23says, “But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin - teaches that if someone has doubts about something, even if it is lawful they sin if they do it because they go against their conscience (4) be sure our clothing is modest in God's sight Adam and Eve tried to cover their unclothedness by the works of their hands. Despite all their works, they were still ashamed and afraid when they met God. He was not satisfied with the clothing they had made to cover their unclothedness. God sacrificed an animal and dressed them up. Gen. 3:21 "Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them" . Here we are reminded that the purpose of clothing is to conceal, not reveal As any other biblical area of life these principals need to be taught and modelled in the Church, among God’s chosen people home, through generational teaching and example from individual study and meditation of the Word QUESTION Are you buying the outfit to attract the opposite sex and draw attention to you? One way to discern if an outfit is modest is to ask yourself why you are buying it Remember, it is not Christian like to tempt others through your dress. It is not a sin to like nice clothes, but it is a sin when the desire for fashion becomes more important than your faith. http://www.godsmercyandgrace.com/indexm16.htm |

First all-female quintuplets in U.S. history born in Houston Danielle and Adam Busby welcome their new babies, the first-ever all-girl quintuplets in the U.S., at the Woman's Hospital of Texas. She went into the hospital and delivered history. A Houston mom last week delivered what's being billed as the first set of all-female quintuplets born in America. In just four minutes, Danielle Busby brought five healthy baby girls into the world: Olivia Marie, Ava Lane, Hazel Grace, Parker Kate and Riley Paige. "I was truly impressed with how smoothly everything went," father Adam Busby wrote on the couple's blog, "It's A Buzz World: The Story Of Our Fast Growing Family." "Wow!" he wrote two days after the births. "Don't blink or you'll miss a baby flying out the door!" The couple — who have one other daughter, 4-year-old Blayke — wrote on the blog they once considered giving up having children after a year of failed attempts. But in 2010, fertility drugs and intrauterine insemination gave them a first daughter. Now, after a 28-week pregnancy and a C-section delivery, that same method has given them a second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth. The Woman's Hospital, which announced the bountiful births Tuesday, said in a statement the Busby baby girls were "requiring only modest support of their breathing" but otherwise doing fine. http://m.nydailynews.com/news/national/all-female-quintuplets-u-s-history-born-houston-article-1.2185771

There are other Obas in Lagos- Oba of Ikotun, Oba of Agbado, Oba of Mushin etc. But I think he is their overall head and their chairman representing the entire Lagos. |
san316:I hope it will be that easy. Many of them have been having their share of the national cake, collecting about 30m monthly in their previous tenures in the national assembly up till now. How do you think they will welcome the idea of even 5m per month? |
san316:I'm pretty sure he'll cur down government expenses including salaries of ministers and advicers but not sure he has the sole power to cut down those of the elected lawmakers. |
Would the APC and other parties' senators and honourables agree to a cut in their salaries and other allowances even if GMB attemps to slash their pays? Read what someone sent to me which many may be aware of- NIGERIA'S OVERPAID LEGISLATORS PLEASE, READ: THIS IS WHY EVERYBODY WANTS TO GO TO ABUJA. If you don't understand why those who are in Abuja don't want to return and those who want to go are doing so at all cost, look at this information. SPECIAL REPORT: SALARY OF NIGERIAN SENATORS. After reading through this Special Report, any shred of doubt in the reader's mind that Nigeria is doomed and heading for a headlong, downward plummeting will simply dissipate. The details of the remuneration of an average Nigerian Senator is detailed below: * Basic Salary (B.S) - N2,484,245.50 * Hardship Allowance (50% of B.S) - N1,242,122.70 * Constituency Allowance (200% of B.S) - N4,968,509.00 * Newspapers Allowance (50% of B.S) - N1,242,122.70 * Wardrobe Allowance (25% of B.S) - N621,061.37 * Recess Allowance (10% of B.S) - N248,424.55 * Accommodation (200% of B.S) - N4,968,509.00 * Utilities (30% of B.S) - N828,081.83 * Domestic Staff (70% of B.S) - N1,863,184.12 * Entertainment (30% of B.S) - N828,081.83 * Personal Assistants (25% of B.S) - N621,061.12 * Vehicle Maintenance Allowance (75% of B.S) - N1,863,184.12 * Leave Allowance (10% of B.S) - N248,424.55 * Severance Gratuity (300% of B.S) - N7,452,736.50 * Car Allowance (400% of B.S) - N9,936,982.00 * TOTAL MONTHLY SALARY = N29,479,749.00 ($181,974.00) * TOTAL YEARLY SALARY = N29,479,749.00 x 12 = N353,756,988.00 ($2,183,685.00) * EXCHANGE RATE: $1 = N162 LEGISLATORS PAY WORLDWIDE PER ANNUM * Britain - $105,400.00 * United States - $174,000.00 * France - $85,900.00 * South Africa - $104,000.00 * Kenya - $74,500.00 * Saudi Arabia - $64,000.00 * Brazil - $157,600.00 * Ghana - $46,500.00 * Indonesia - $65,800.00 * Thailand - $43,800.00 * India - $11,200.00 * Italy - $182,000.00 * Bangladesh - $4,000.00 * Israel - $114,800.00 * Hong Kong - $130,700.00 * Japan - $149,700.00 * Singapore - $154,000.00 * Canada - $154 000.00 * New Zealand - $112,500.00 * Germany - $119,500.00 * Ireland - $120,400.00 * Pakistan - $3,500.00 * Malaysia - $25,300.00 * Sweden - $99 300.00 * Sri Lanka - $5,100.00 * Spain - $43,900.00 * Norway - $138,000.00 In terms of lawmakers’ salaries as a ratio of GDP per capita, the gap is even much wider. While the salary of a Nigerian lawmaker is 116 times the country’s GDP per person, that of a British member of parliament is just 2.7 times. The average salary of Nigerian worker based on the national minimum wage is N18,000.00, So, the yearly salary is N18,000.00 x 12 = N216,000.00 ($1,333.00) Remember, Yearly Salary of Nigerian Senator = $2,183,685.00. Proportion: $2,183,685.00/$1,333.00 = 1,638 It will take an average Nigerian worker 1,638 years to earn the yearly salary of a Nigerian Senator. I doubt if they will agree to slash their pays to $ 182 000 per annum as obtained in Italy which is the highest on this list. Now that they are the majority in the national assembly, lets see how much love they have for NIGERIA. |

Practical Keys to Overcoming Sexual Sin by Creflo Dollar Many Christians struggle with sexual immorality, not knowing that God has given us the grace to live sexually pure lives. Too often we allow the norms and values of society to dictate our behavior, while God has called us to a lifestyle that agrees with His Word. We have been set free from sin and are no longer subject to our old nature; however, we must renew our minds and put corresponding action to our faith. Understanding what the Word has to say about sexual sin is the first step to overcoming it. If there was ever any doubt about whether it is wrong or not, all we have to do is open up the Bible for the answer to that question. First Corinthians 6:18-20 says, “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”Fornication involves any sexual activity with someone you are not married to. Our bodies do not belong to us but to God, which means we will be held accountable for what we did with them. There are many other scriptures that talk about the importance of abstaining from fornication and making sure our lives reflect Christ’s character. Ephesians 5:3 says that fornication and sexual impurity should not be named among Believers, and 1 Thessalonians 4:3 says that it is God’s will that we abstain from fornication. Since we know it is wrong, the next question is, how do we get out of it? The spiritual part of the issue has already been dealt with by Jesus. As Christians, we have been spiritually liberated from sin; however, we must maintain our deliverance on a daily basis, which is our responsibility. By putting these practical keys into practice, we can walk in the full manifestation of complete deliverance from sexual immorality until Jesus returns. 1. Commit to the process of mind renewal. Romans 12:1,2 instructs us to renew our minds so that we can prove what the acceptable and perfect will of God is. Abstaining from fornication is the perfect will of God, so by constantly meditating on the Scriptures day and night regarding sexual purity, our thinking will begin to align with God’s Word. As a result, we will begin to make choices that support our stance. Mind renewal is not a one-time event but an ongoing process that we must actively engage in on a daily basis. 2. Cast down thoughts by speaking the Word. Second Corinthians 10:4 instructs us to cast down thoughts and imaginations that go against the Word. When sexually immoral thoughts and feelings rise up within you, don’t sit there and receive them. Open your mouth and declare the Word of God over your life. Do this as many times as necessary in order to bring those thoughts into obedience to the Word. 3. Establish boundaries. One of the biggest changes we can make in our lives involves the people we are in relationship with, as well as the things we look at, listen to, and talk about. If you are serious about committing to a lifestyle of sexual purity, you have to disconnect from those people, places, and things that create an environment that causes you to be vulnerable to sin. We must set boundaries to protect our decision to remain sexually pure. The world would have us believe that living a sexually pure life is impossible, but with God all things are possible. It takes a quality decision and a plan. By implementing the Word of God into your daily life and making choices that support holiness in your life, you can experience freedom from sexual sin. http://change.creflodollarministries.org/site/1020/practicalkeystoovercomingsexualsin.aspx God bless you, God bless Nigeria. |

A friend sent this to my whatsapp this morning. I couldn't stop laughing WHY BUHARI MUST NOT WIN I want to ask, if Buhari should win Jonathan, will Buhari's wife make Nigerians laugh and forget their sorrows like first lady Dame Patience does? This woman has increased the life span of an average Nigerian. Examples of her "award winning speeches" include: 1- * Nigeria is a great CONTINENT. 2- * My husband and Sambo IS good people. 3- * I rather KILL myself than commit SUICIDE. 4- * My fellow widows. 5- * I travelled to abroad to rest in peace. 6- * My husband is the best couple on earth. 7- * The doctors are responding to treatment. 8- * For those who said I speech bad English, I left them for God. 9- * Ojukwu is dead, but his Manhood still lives on. 10- * Na only you waka come? 11- * Chai ! Chai !! Chai !!! This blood we are "sharing" 12- * diaris God o... 13- * on behave of N2million I donate my family. 14- *To all those who think Goodluck Jonathan has failed, I have a question for you. When a child fails an exam, isn't the child supposed to be repeated? Please support and honour Nigeria first lady by sharing this with all your contacts Don't laugh alone. Let us vote Buhari out because His wife can't make us laugh like first lady Dame Patience Chei ! Chei !! Chei !!! Dis message "we are reading" "diaris god o" |
komek:KK. Let us know your doubts. If you have been attending church services and observing quality quiet times praying and fellowshipping with God since childhood and have not encountered God in any unique way or feel His mighty power of healings, answers to prayers, deliverance, prophecies, signs and visions et cetera; then there is a challenge. |
komek:Let me first ask you, 'do you believe in God, in Jesus Christ and in His Word'? |
komek:How? |
chinweobianwa:you are likely to be more distracted at the back than at the front. |
pastorKosiso:Amen. He will bless you too sir. |
Bonapart:Amen. May the Lord bless you real good. |
dolapobello1:not what you expect? |
Many believers attend church services with expectations. Unfortunately not everyone goes back being blessed; some would return empty-handed, not because they are sinners, but for the fact that they are not actually present at the service even though they occupy space with their fulness. There are certain practices that distract us from concentrating fully especially during Sunday services which consequently rob us of divine encounter and visitation, true fellowship, vital and spiritual information and blessings. Its no surprise that some people would not remember the Sermon they heard once they step out of the church. Why? Because they never listened. Some of the things that often distract us during Sunday services are- 1. Getting to church at late hours/minutes- you have already lost touch with a thing or two. You wouldn't be late for an appointment with your country's president, let us honour and respect God. 2. Sitting at back seats- you will be less distracted if you sit at the front. 3. Opening your eyes during worship and prayers- the less you see with your physical eyes, the more you concentrate during worship and prayers 4. Greeting during service- it is better done after church service except there is a period alloted for it . 5. Gisting during service- very bad habit. whatever anyone has to tell you should wait till final blessing. 6. Having your mobile phone on- calls and messages can take you out of the church at wrong moments or take your spirit out of the church. Always switch it off completely 7. Using electronic gadgets in place of hard copy of the Bible- you may be tempted to do more than reading the scripture. Use your Bible and not Bible app on your gadgets in church. 8. Carrying children- I do not mean babies here. Some parents are fond of this. You can do this only if there is no children class in the church. If there is children auditorium, let your child also go there. 9. Wearing clothings and shoes that are not moderate and convenient- this is not a joking matter at all. I have had such experience wearing a very tight shoe to the church. It was really a hell and I couldn't concentrate, always adjusting and readjusting... 10. Too much looking- if there is a word like 'lookertive' we can use it to refer to some believers. Some will look at the members of the congregation from head to toe, roll by roll before shifting to the alter to examine the ministers. You may find yourself doing this unconsciously. Determine to only be looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. God bless you. |
I do not think the woman would have been besieged and killed if she had burnt the Bible, dictionary, newspaper, Obama's Audacity of Hope, or even the Afghan constitution. It thus has a lot to do with religion. |
cutebebe:Oh... this is the female hostel @ Cambridge university in the UK. Nice post |
