Mekusxyz: Maybe you should educate yourself about the origin of these men. Mind you I am a not a fan of any one of them. Three of them are pure Yorubas regardless of any nonsense Saraki might say, he's simply trying to pull a political stunt. For the other two, one is Ebira, a subset of Yoruba, the other is from Kwara North. None of them is Fulani, In any event, who is/was a Governor has nothing to do with the fact that Kwara state is at least 95 percent Yoruba. Kwarans will tell you that. Why do you keep twisting the issue anyway? I am done with you. |
Politics / Re: Gold Discovered In South West by reporter1: 9:17pm On Jan 28, 2010 |
Mekusxyz: Ilorin is not Yoruba land because Saraki said so?? Did you even hear yourself? Ilorin is not only Yoruba, it is 99.999 percent Yoruba. The entire kwara state is at least 95 percent undiluted Yoruba Since you missed West African history in school, see below links. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilorin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kwara_State |

Mekusxyz: Dude, please stop embarrasing yourself in a public forum. You are implying that though the schools were built in Yoruba land but ibo people were the one atending them because of their nomadic nature. Does that even sound like logic to you? The first school in Ibo land was almost 64 years behind the first school in Yorubaland. We are not even talking one school here, we are talking several schools that predate even NIGERIA as a country, and yet you want us to believe that Ibo were the majority in those schools -some warped reasoning only you can pull out of your you know where. Dude, We are talking 1850's when travelling from point A to B was an Herculean task. I do not need to educate you further, you can continue to believe your own hype. -- Iwo lo ni dun dun e. BTW, you omitted Government Secondary School, Ilorin, 1914 |

Mekusxyz: Okoromado, You are beaten. Man up and be a true Okoro and receive your lashes. Most Nigerian greats went to those schools. if you didn't know that the earliest Nigerian schools were established by the missionaries, then, like I suggested earlier, you should enroll in first grade Nigerian history pronto, and stop embarrassing yourself with your blind argument. |

Dede1: Are you a Jew? Why bring in Jew into this? Self-denial is your problem. You need not go far to hear chants of supremacy from your folks. The pages of NL are littered with perceived Ibo supremacy from your stock. Rants and delusion if you ask me. I will cull more of Ozodi Osuji's papers for you to enjoy! You deny the obvious actions of your folks. |

Baptist Academy, Lagos 1855 Baptist Boys High School, Lagos 1885 Methodist Boys High School, Lagos 1878 Methodist Girls High School, Lagos 1879 C.M.S Grammar School, Bariga, Lagos 1859 Now that I have obliged you, will you now answer my question? |

Mekusxyz: I asked you to name a school. I have given you the names of those schools. Majority of them were established in post 1840's. It is incumbent upon you to counter. Don't duck the question. |
Politics / Re: Gold Discovered In South West by reporter1: 7:29pm On Jan 28, 2010 |
Mekusxyz: Name a SINGLE school that predates schools in the SW. Whoever told you that your people held senior postions lied to you. All those claims are part of the post-war propaganda told to young ones. They are nothing but fairy tales. Check out most of the names of the indigenous ministers. They were Yoruba. Your folks by nature are traders before and after the war. And if you must know, all those schools mentioned were established way before Zik's time 1 Like 1 Share |

Okoromado, Why don't you do your own research? I'm sure if you had a counter, you would have produced it. Don't know why it is hard for you to accept that most of the Nigerian firsts pace-setters professionals were Yorubas. Fact is - ALL the earlier schools in Nigeria were located in Yoruba land. CMS Lagos. Bapt Acad Lagos, Baptist Boys Lagos Methodist boys Lagos, Methodist girls Lagos. Kings college Lagos, Eko Boys High School, Lagos, Abeokuta Grammar School, Abeokua. Ibadan Grammar School, Ibadan. Ijebu-Ode Grammar School, Ijebu-Ode, Government Secondary School, Ilorin. By this sheer overwhelming number of earliest schools in Yorubaland, don't you think that the first wave of indigenous professionals will be Yorubas? Unless you want to argue blindly (you are known for that.) |

Normal persons shrug off their silly claims of innocence for they instinctively realize that where there is smoke there is fire. If you are routinely attacked by other persons there must be something about you that makes them attack you. People don’t just get up and attack whoever they see. People attack the neurotic who feels superior to them for it makes human beings feel angry for other human beings to feel better than them. All human beings, black and white, the various African tribes are the same and equal. Therefore, if you fancy yourself better than other persons you infuriate them and they want to attack you, if only to teach you the lesson that you are not better than them. The mad man does not learn from experience and instead go about pretending to be superior to other persons. No amount of rational feedback to him that he is the same and equal to other persons makes him give up his delusion of superiority, for that delusion is a mask for his perceived sense of inferiority. We all feel like we are inferior and are not special. The exigencies of being a human being, an animal that knows that nature does not treat him as if he is special, an animal that would like to be special yet an animal that nature snuffs out and dies and rots and smells to high heaven. We feel like we are nothing special and would like to feel like we are special, important, and superior. But healthy persons know that they are none of those things hence accept their humble selves. "We, black folk, feel insulted when white folk feel superior to us. We feel insulted because we know that despite the fact that white scientific and technological civilization is ahead of black civilization that all human beings are the same and equal. Come to think of it; one can understand why confused white racists feel superior to blacks for their material civilization is obviously ahead of Africans material civilization. But can one understand why Igbos should feel superior to other Africans? What in Igbo civilization makes Igbos seem superior to other Nigerians? Is it their underdeveloped political structure and culture before white men came to Nigeria? The very Hausas and Yorubas they feel superior to attained what Marxist call feudal political state (a prelude to the contemporary bourgeois state) and they, Igbos, were only at the rudimentary communalistic stage of socio-political development" Culled from Ozodi Thomas Osuji Ph.D EXPLORING IGBOS MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES |

Psychology 101 For Mekuxx, Sunny-Bobo, Willy-Willy "These people feel so inferior about themselves that they rejected themselves and identified with others, those they imagine are superior persons, Jews, and want you to collude with their obvious paranoia and tell them that they are Jews (read, tell them that they are superior persons, as they imagine Jews are) and if you do not they feel mad at you. We have to explore why these people are doing what they are doing, for it is no longer a laughing matter. They generally run around fancying themselves superior to their Nigerian neighbors. They seize on flimsy evidence to justify their delusion of superiority. They would tell you that Hausas do not qualify to directly enter Nigerian universities (what it takes to qualify to enter Nigerian universities would not qualify you to enter good universities elsewhere, so qualification is always relative). They glibly tell you that Hausas enter universities on quota grounds. You ask them to provide you with evidence for their claims. Providing evidence for their delusional claims is not one of their strong points. Clearly, Hausas are as qualified as any other Nigerians to attend Nigeria’s universities. There is no shred of evidence that the Igbos are superior to any other Nigerian tribe (their average scores on standard IQ tests, such as Stanford-Binnet and WAIS/WISC, are the same as those of other Nigerians; they perform at the same levels on SAT, GRE and other college entrance examinations as other Nigerians). Their feeling of superiority is imaginary, is based on their rejection of their real selves and identification with fantasy ideal selves" Culled from Ozodi Thomas Osuji Ph.D EXPLORING IGBOS MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES |

Katsumoto: @Katsumoto, I applaud you for maintainaing your composure despite "their"attempts to ruffle you. However, their actions cannot be left unchecked. The Biafrans think they have monopoly of hateful words, obviously they have not been to Ibadan! You seem like a very objective person and your posts certainly reflect that. Please continue doing what you do best -presenting facts; seperating facts from fiction, and dispelling urban legends stuck in some ppl's mind. Nairaland is crawling with hateful Biafrans, they need to be rid of! Obviously, appealing to their deaf ears will not yield anything meaningful. Many had done that in the past, still they continue. They've overstayed. It's time to send them packing. |

Onlytruth: Another idiotic comment by a retarded Biafran Okoromado Before a single of oil was lifted, Yoruba land had been developed by Yoruba visionaries. Rewind Nigeria back to pre-1960s and you'll get the gist of how the SW was moving at light-years speed while you Biafrans are still stuck in your jungle. Your ill-conceived coup of 1966 that ushers military into Nigeria is what has slowed us down. If not for you greedy people, Nigeria may never have seen a military rule, but thanks to Biafrans for introducing coup into Nigeria's landscape. Yoruba don't need oil to survive. We built the best region amongst all regions in Nigeria without a single drop of oil And stop all these Easterners nonsense, Biafra is not the same thing as the enitire east -greedy Biafran. A Biafran will steal the air around him if it's possible. All of you should go back to your forest. |

I understand, it's greed that is overpowering your sense of judgement. Everyday you log onto NL to rant and spew your usual victim nonsense. Why don't you find a job or go work for your brother in a fake drug pharmacy store? |
Politics / Re: Was Awo "Omo Chicken"? by reporter1: 9:13pm On Jan 18, 2010 |
Biafrans will forever be jealous of Awo. Awo remains the numero uno visionary Nigeria has ever produced. While your ancestors were busying with politic pandering, Awo was building the West. Still evident till tomorrow because your people are still there in the SW making a living. All of you forest men will forever be a slave of the SW region. What can I say, Nairaland has provided cover for you to spew your nonsense. You should worry about your brothers that are being beheaded in Asia for drug pushing. Greedy Biafran, will sell his mama for a dime. |

~Bluetooth: Bluetooth, You needn't discriminate against anyone because of their sexual preference. You only need to dis-approve of their lifestyle. Gays will always be around just like rogues, thieves, rapists, drug peddlers etc. It is man that extols one type of sin above another. Sinful act is sinful act, -not to trivialize homosexuality by any means. It is grave and repulsive. But question for you, what if someone was born with it? Please enlighten me; except if you want to argue that people are not born that way. Right-wings nuts in the US love to shout all the time about gays "this and that." But wait until one of their own children comes home with a same-sex partner, then they'll sing a different song, Dick Chaney, former VP of US is one example of such right-wing nut. |
Politics / Re: Homosexuals Storm National Assembly by reporter1: 4:12pm On Jan 17, 2010 |
~Bluetooth: @Bluytooth, I see your point and I understand where you coming from. A littlle leaven leavens the whole lot, I guess is your point. Let me first state it clearly. I do not condone homosexuality nor am I an advocate of Gay rights. However, we Africans tend to believe that homosexuality is lifestyle or societal induced. Nothing can be further from the truth. Homosexuality is a disease that affects close to 10 percent of the population. It is observed in every society, though more pronounced in the West due to their liberalism than other parts of the world. Homosexuality has been in Nigeria long before you and I were born. It has nothing to do with the West. The West only influences their coming out "of the closet" so to speak. You'll find gays in countries where the practice of it is punishable by death (Middle East, South Asia.) Do you honestly think anybody wants to be gay under such circumstance? Dealing with the issues of gays is always a toughie for legislators. I personally think that Nigeria should not enact any law to encourage more coming out of the closet. It will only lead to more of more, and before you know it, you have a city in Nigeria as the next Frisco. The "don't ask don't tell" policy keep things in perspective. Aggressive gay counseling and treatment should be offered to discourage the continuity of it. On a side note, why any man would not want a nice "one" is beyond my understanding. |
