Only a dullard would compare GEJ to Awo. |
Ibos and narcotics --- you can't separate them. For pittance, this Biafran has lost his freedom. |

Sincere 9gerian: None of the links confirms a bank robbery incident. There is a difference between robbery incident, robbery involving a banker/bank staff and bank robbery. Look at topic again.Stop fooling yourself.... Police claim victory in Anambra bank robbery 26/05/2010 18:35:00 // Local | Police claim victory in Anambra bank robbery Two days after a daring bank robbery attack reportedly claimed the lives of two soldiers in Ihiala, Anambra State, the state police command on Wednesday refuted the report and announced the killing of four of the robbery suspects. The Anambra State police spokesperson, Emeka Chukwuemeka, stated that contrary to some media reports that two soldiers were killed in the robbery attack, it was actually the robbers that lost four of their men in the ensuing shoot-out after the robbers had raided three banks. “The police did not record any casualty in the shoot-out but the robbers who lost four men from injuries sustained during the encounter,†he said. “Neither was any other casualty recorded in the attack.†He said that a combined team of special units of mobile police officers took part in the operation which lasted well into the night as the remnant of the fleeing robbers were pursued into the bush. Although he acknowledged the arrest of some of the robbery suspects, he could not however give their number, even as he said investigations were still on. A 20-man armed robbery gang yesterday reportedly terrorized the community in a spree of robberies of three banks, and carted away over N6 million. http://news2.onlinenigeria.com/national/25526-police-claim-victory-in-anambra-bank-robbery.html |

@ Agbameta Thread like this is unnecessary. It makes you look like "them" chest beaters. Please continue to show us Fashola's good deeds instead. |

The simple truth is that the Yorubas are the most political conscious group in Nigeria. You either perform or be booted out in the SW. Since inception of Nigeria, the SW has enjoyed the best of governance relative to other regions. This is because SW folks demand accountability from their leaders more than folks from other regions. Not that the system is perfect in SW, but given time and continuity, the SW will be the first region to see governance similar to developed nations. As for GEJ, no one hates him; his abysmal performance is his undoing. Fact is that it was the SW people who first stuck their necks out during the Yaradua debacle. If they didn't want him, they would not have stuck their necks out in the first case. |
@OP, Whoever employed you should fire you. In Nigeria, the security of the State is vested in FG who controls the armed forces. It's the FG that is clueless in this case. |
Great news! Say what you may about Tinubu, he's no doubt a visionary. Eko o ni baje o... Waiting for bros unas "claimers" to say they own the place. |
plasmadocument: Obviously you are one of those thought in Yoruba. You can not comprehend the simple comment i made above. Sorry. If you are going to talk about someone's use of English language, you should at least know the difference between "taught" and "thought" |
hardbody: Bigot. Always fanning the embers of racialism. The fact osun has destitutes does not mean anambrarians or indeed itgbos have them. We are not lazy and our people are always alive to their responsibilities including being their brothers keepers.Your people are not lazy, yet they are the criminals of Nigeria. Do I need to remind you that they are the drug pushers, armed robbers, kidnappers, adulterators of Nigeria? Not lazy my arrsse. |
0monnak0da: Hmm Shookoomeka!!!I get your satire. But for the mentally challenged minds, Shookoomeka no be Lagosian abeg. Shookoomeka be original Biafran from the land of kidnappers. |
thelastPope: What is the right thing? a federal high court made a ruling. Who told you they are right? It will definitely continue up to the supreme court to get a clear interpretation of the law.You want good governance but want your president to have disregard for the law. Nigeria is indeed in trouble with a mindset like yours. BTW, why do some Nigerians side with their tormentors? Anyway, read below.... The Joint Chief of Staffs, and other Staffs in the US are nominated by the President, and must be confirmed by the Senate. "President Obama nominated Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and promoted two other senior military leaders Monday, completing an overhaul of his national security team in advance of the 2012 election. ........ All of the appointments are contingent upon Senate confirmation. If approved, Dempsey will take over Oct. 1 from Mullen, who is scheduled to retire four years after Bush named him to the job. Cartwright’s term as vice chairman will end in August" http://articles.washingtonpost.com/2011-05-30/world/35263719_1_joint-chiefs-president-obama-principal-military-adviser |
The jews of Africa doing what they do best. Young lives lost over what. |
How can any sane person try to turn this thread into a tribal bashing thread?
I wasn't trying to turn it into a tribal bashing issue. I apologize for the BH gibe. I was just taken aback by your post which I perceive to be insensitive considering how symbolic Mandela is to Africa/Africans. |
Katsumoto: What kind of life is that which is dependent on a respirator?@Katz, There is nothing in the media to indicate that he is now dependent on a respirator. He is not comatose or brain dead. According to reports, he's having respiratory issues due to TB he contracted a while back in prison. If he is left alone at home without medical attention, his breath will be labored and agonizing. The humanly thing to do is to provide him the medical care he needs. There shouldn't be any debate about life preservation even for geriatric patients. |
You wouldn't know anything about life preservation. After all, you arean aboki who do not value life like your BH brethren. |
This story appears bogus. A state government has no constitutional authority to deport foreign nationals. I'd strongly urge Fashola and his peeps to move carefully, there is no need to go out of his way to make new enemies. Too many Lagos bridges are prime candidates for retaliatory actions which Fashola has no defence against. These matters call for unusual wisdom.
You should read the article again, this time pay attention to the first paragraph. What has Fashola got to do with this? "As part of efforts to curb the level of crime being perpetrated by illegal aliens, the Nigerian Immigration Service, Lagos State Command, has said it is set to deport about 100 Chadians, Nigeriens and Malians from the country". |
kettykin: peace lovers indeed , what kind of peace lover would prefer to fight among them selves like the ife/modakeke war and the Kiriji war but decline to fight an external enemy like the hausa/fulani invaders in illorin and the Abacha junta that killed their Field Marshall MKO Abiola .Your statement would be meaningful if your ancestors had ever won a war. The only war you fought, you were vanquished. Pick up a history book and learn. The democracy Nigerians have today is becuse of Yorubas who fought the military. Asking Yorubas to fight the military junta who has unlimited resources because of Abiola shows that you are just as ret.ard.ed as your leaders who impetuously jumped into war. Seriously, where do they manufacture you people with muscle but no gray matter? |
Everybody should go back to their regions. Nigeria is not working. Boko Haram forgot everybody can also set up their own 'boko haram' expect. of course yorubas who lack strength and courage
Maybe Yorubas are peace loving and understand the ramifications of abruptly jumping into war unlike you Ibos that are all brawn no brains. Food for thought. |
shymexx: I know it's not "hatred" per-se, but truth be told, most Nigerians can't stand Igbos(from my interactions with Nigerians and what my parents told me)... I jam with Jamaicans/Caribbeans and Asians all the time, but I can't stand some of their repulsive attitude...Agree with you that some Nigerians detest some Ibos, but it's not borne out of hate. It's just that people in general dislike people who talk smack. Some Ibo folks do not know the meaning of humility, and do not grasp the concept of interpersonal relationship especially in a country like Nigeria where everyone is very protective of their domain. Wish Ibos would do more of listening and less of talking. And dialogue more with their neighbors instead of brute force that they seem to project. Aggression was appropriate in the early centuries, today aggression is generally interpreted as crudeness. Like you rightly pointed out, Ibos need to do a soul searching and ask themselves tough questions. |
shymexx: I've been on nl for about a year now, and from my observation on nl - and reading different Nigerian news outlets only... I noticed Igbos are the most maligned ethnic group in Nigeria... Maybe, only Fulanis and Northern muslims also get maligned like Igbos but it's to a lesser extent - and the reason is understandable... However, as for Igbos, I still don't know why everyone allegedly "hates" them and why negative energy follows them everywhere...What you are observing on NL is not a reflection of real life. No one hates the Ibos, at least not Yoruba people. I grew up in Lagos in a diverse n'hood with lots of kids from different backgrounds and we all kicked it together without reference to our ethnicity save for occasional jibes like "omo una" I personally believe that the war may have damaged the psyche of some of Ibos; hence, the constant whining and bitching, and the constant need to elevate themselves above everyone. As for the eze, he is a nut head with Nazi like mentality. How anyone of a sound mind would choose that goon as eze is beyond me. |
This is becoming worrisome and problematic...
