Phew! Lost for words to say to you. What you termed "A1" is actually the vertical (pipe) key on the keyboard.
You have no business asking for anybody's certificate.

Good job Jarus!

I weep for Nigeria. It's mind boggling that some people are still confused after the statement of result was released. PDP has eroded the minds of the gullible ones among us.

Where is your source or is this another PDP fabrication? No Yoruba king worth his salt will endorse Jonathan. Every Yoruba knows that the jig is up for Jonathan/PDP in the SW. It's Buhari all the way. Time for change.

This is very disturbing. This is a symptom of years of neglect by successive government. The idle mind is indeed a devil's playground. I hope the incoming president will pay more attention to education and unemployment of our youths rather than waste money on jets and intangibles.

Half-baked education is a terrible thing. The authors of the paper for the purpose of educational trend only considered certain subjects in their research. WAEC/Cambridge definitely offered more subjects in 1961 than what the analysts considered for their research.

Conspicuously missing is Biology which was a prerequisite for admission into medical schools. Are we saying Biology was not offered in 1961 but Yoruba was? Please grow a brain.

These PDP e-rats need to give it up. Nigerians want to hear substance and not some Mama Put BS that PDP has focused its campaign upon.

After 16 years of abysmal rule, and the last 6 being a colossal waste, its time to boot out incompetence.

Vote GMB!

Jonathan has been steering the Nigerian State for 6 years and he has nothing to campaign on; hence, the mud slinging.
I respect GMB the more because he has stayed above PDP shenanigans and instead has focused on the things he would do for Nigeria if elected.

PDP people have shown Nigerians that they have nothing to offer. After 16 years of uninterrupted rule, you would think they would at least provide stable electricity, employment, infrastructure etc..

Instead it has been looting galore, over bloated budget, subsidy scam, pension scam, Oduah scandal, Boko Haram ravaging NE.

What is even more troubling is the PDP e-rats who support their tormentors because they refuse to see the goodness in an upright man. But.....God has decreed that this time, Nigerians North and South will do the right thing to salvage a nation that has been raped and battered by PDP, and especially GEJ who has demonstrated many times that he is not fit to be a class captain talk less of a president.

Mr. Campbell Umeh-Nzekwe you are indeed a wise man unlike some of your people who are walking without a compass as you aptly puts it.

Nigerians are tired of being taken for a ride, and this time they want to have a voice! The writing is on the wall and only the blurry eyed ones do not see that the end of PDP is imminent.

The North will resoundingly vote for Buhari, and SW plus Edo will decisively do same in favor of Buhari. Buhari will even give a good account of himself in some SS states and in Imo in SE.

PDP as constituted today is filled with noise-makers without any political clout. Obasanjo who single-handedly persuaded the North to vote for Jonathan on the basis that Jonathan will do a single term has left Jonathan's camp. Who in PDP today can move the North or SW?
This election is not about Jonathan alone. It's a referendum on PDP.

Vote GMB Febhuari 14, 2015!

It's either some people are real dumb or just plain mischievous. After seeing this, some dolts are still asking for secondary school certificate. The Constitution of Nigeria stipulates the equivalent of a Secondary School Cert.

Buhari we know for a fact attended NDA -- a post secondary school, and US Army War college -another post secondary school. Both institutions are more than suffice enough to meet the equivalent of School Cert even if one assumes that Buhari did not attend any secondary school. And we know he went to Barewa college where he had been listed as a notable alumni before all the PDP BS about certificate.

There is panic in the camp of PDP no doubt. Majority of Nigerians are disenchanted with the Clueless one -the man with the insatiable appetite for food, jets and corruption!

Politics / Re: Deconstructing Educational Requirement For Office Of The President In Nigeria by reporter1: 8:35am On Jan 05, 2015
I believe the Constitution is explicit enough to clarify facts from fictions at it simply states that equivalent of Secondary School certificate. The interpretation is simple enough for unbiased minds. The Constitution does not ask for pass or fail on your WAEC result.

More so, Buhari attended NDA which is a post secondary institution and was commissioned as an officer. That by itself is suffice enough to meet Section 131d.
Politics / Re: Deconstructing Educational Requirement For Office Of The President In Nigeria by reporter1: 7:59am On Jan 05, 2015
Obviously simple comprehension eludes you. There is no where in the Constitution where GCSE is stated. Maybe you need to familiarize yourself with the Constitution of your country. This topic is above your encephalon capacity.
Politics / Deconstructing Educational Requirement For Office Of The President In Nigeria by reporter1: 7:33am On Jan 05, 2015
So much noise has been generated over the last couple of days regarding General Buhari’s education eligibility. The issue is that we have not taken time to examine the facts on the ground. Instead, we have been generating noise based upon our political affiliations.

As stipulated by the Nigerian Constitution, any seeker of the office of the president must have attained the equivalent of a secondary school certificate before seeking office.

Chapter VI of the constitution makes provision for educational requirement.

131. A person shall be qualified for election to the office of the President if -

(a) he is a citizen of Nigeria by birth;
(b) he has attained the age of forty years;

(c) he is a member of a political party and is sponsored by that political party; and

(d) he has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent.

Note that Section 131(d) of the constitution simply states that a person shall be qualified for election to the office of the President if he/she has been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent.

The operative word is “equivalent.” Note that the constitution does not stipulate six credits or any number of credits as in the case of a university entrance requirement nor does it say a candidate must have sat for WAEC examination. It simply says equivalent.
Anyone who completes a secondary school of education will satisfy this requirement whether the person passes with 2, 5, or 10 credits or fails woefully is irrelevant. What is important is for the person to have completed a high school equivalent.

In the era of Buhari, once a person completes a formal high school education, a diploma is issued to the person regardless whether the person sits for WAEC, GCE or Cambridge examination as it was in that period. Was WAEC even in existence during that era? External examinations conducted by WAEC etc are mainly for post high school entrance requirement.

Here are the facts concerning GMB:

1, We know for a fact that GMB attended Barewa College where he was a school prefect. He had been listed as a notable alumni alongside other notable names like Ribadu, Sanusi and many others of that school before all the distraction; thus, we can infer that GMB attended high school up to final year of secondary school as only final year students are normally made prefects. As far as the constitution goes, GMB satisfies Section 131d of the constitution. Note –we are not talking 6 credits or F here.

2, We also know that GMB attended Military college now known as NDA. This is a post secondary education by any standard. For the fact that, GMB attended a post secondary institution and completed the graduation requirement of that institution, and was commissioned as an officer validates his candidacy without any ambiguity.

3, We also know that GMB attended several military institutions that are post secondary school level. Some of the courses he attended are deemed to be equivalent of Masters degree level.

There is no doubt that GMB satisfies the constitutional requirement of Section 131d. All the noise is to divert attention from real issues to intangibles. To suggest that Buhari does not possess a secondary school equivalent with all of his academic credentials is preposterous to say the list.

I’d like to hear substance from both parties rather than all these distractions.

Constitution lawyers in the house are welcome to dissect Section 131d of the Constitution for us

All three choices are not bad.
Though I'll prefer Buhari any day, but I'm afraid he may not be able to get enough Southern votes.

For maximum votes, the top choice MUST be a Northerner with no Sharia-ish link. He must be seen as a moderate. We in the SW understand the need to zone the top ticket to the North. Politics is a game of number and we just vacated the seat anyway. I am certain that Tinubu and top ACN chiefs did not go into ACN/CPC alliance without extracting strong commitment for SW. Tinubu is a strategist and I am confident that the North will keep their end of the bargain.

For VP -- Cramjones please tell your APC leaders that Fashola is the master key to votes in SW and Edo.

Ignore the Ibos troll here, they do not understand politics. Ibos are so politically naive that they do not even see the glaring handwriting on the wall. PDP is imploding daily and will eventually sink, and Ibos will sink along with it rendering them into political abyss.
Ibos are on the sideline goading Ijaw while they are mortgaging their own political future. It's amusing how Ibos think politically.

Eziachi: Nigerian politics of tribalism has made it impossible to fight bad things, because you don't know who telling the truth or lying anymore. This lady had been a minister for as long as I can say Jonathan's name, but all these story somehow remain hidden until now. Why?
Her crime now seems to be that she dare transformed Akanu Ibiam airfield Enugu into an international airport. I may be wrong, but her problems seems to started with the upgrade of this airport.

It is worrisome when an elderly person like you condones an obvious wrong doing. Who cares about Akanu or Enugu airports? Those excuses are lame and sound so clannish, and paint you people as fraud supporters. If you condone fraud, don't you know the younger ones will bask in it.
The pattern of wrong doing is obvious for those who stand on truth. From her deafening silence to how she hurriedly cleaned all her bios are all pointers of wrong doing.

The FOI bill does not include personal data. You cannot write to Fashola and ask him to give you the statement of his bank account. That is an infringement of his civil right.

The more I read FFK of late, the more I enjoy his summations. I wish more Youruba leaders will be just as outspoken on national issues as FFK, and especially on matters concerning SW, and Edo politics.

@Cramjones:
Here is my take --- I agree with idea of zoning the presidency to the North not because there are no capable people in other regions but because it could bring peace to our nation. A nation cannot progress without peace and more so it was the South who defaulted on PDP pre-arranged power sharing formula.

Presidential Slot
The foremost challenge is to find a candidate from the North that is acceptable to both North and South.
A person who is seen as a liberal and a performer. Buhari stands shoulder above the rest in the performance category, but I'm not sure if he's perceived as liberal especially for Southerners who are very wary of islamization -even though it's an unfounded fear; nevertheless, the fear is real. As for me Buhari is the most qualified. El Rufai, I have no doubt will do a very good job, but cannot garner enough votes to close the deal.
Tambulawal is moderate and will be a good candidate if he defects.

VP Slot:
As for VP slot, Fashola is the key to SW, the other current SW governors are doing very well but they are yet to earn their stripes. Do not be bothered about Muslim/Muslim ticket crap. Average SW'ner doesn’t give a fuccck if you are Muslim or Christian. For us in the SW, it boils down to performance. It is whoever can get the job done. We are just tired of this ineptitude. We need a performer. Hopefully under APC, the VP will not be a lame duck.
A good thing will be to put Power under the purview of the VP. If APC makes this a campaign promise and Fashola is selected as VP. APC can be sure that SW is in the pocket.

APC should not bother looking for any VP candidate in the SE/SS, not because there are no credible candidates but that region is safe for PDP. Rochas or Amechi are good performers, and good enough to even be the top ticket, but unfortunately their zone is safe PDP.

Prof Corruption: Soyinka has a good point. The line between APC and PDP is becoming increasingly blurred. If the trend is not checked, it ll just look like Tinubu and Buhari have decamped to PDP. APC has enough governors to fight PDP already. They should concentrate on "bonding" and grassroot mobilization.

It may seem so on the surface. However, what a APC is trying to do is build a coalition in a shortest time frame possible. Don't forget election is but a few months ahead. Whatever they need to build, they need it to do it now. Grassroot mobilization takes years of planning which APC does not have.
