Sanchez01: Another one... Now I would have to do with more than this. To answer your question;
https://www.quora.com/How-did-Japan-become-a-developed-nation
Several things to deduce from the above; 1. Japan channeled its strength towards its economy after the war (TRADE) 2. China's fall favoured Japan greatly. (OPPORTUNITY) 3. Korea's war with the U.S. also acted as a catalyst to Japan's greatness as the later shifted grounds and made Japan its ally, principally influencing and granting access via the Pacific, 'bringing more aid, more technology and more trade'. (FOREIGN AID+TRADE ROUTE ACCESS) 4. Japan is not landocked, rather an island.
Add their literacy leve to the case on ground and tell me why it would not be a country to be reckoned with. Japan did not just become a technology powerhouse overnight contrary to the views of many. You all think birthing technology is as easy shouting at the top of your lungs. Hardly would you see a developed country without support. As a matter of fact, I doubt you would see one. I am not saying u don't need others to become great but first off, do what seems right. Nigeria today, with all the investor ain't notin to write about.. From the examples above, you would agree the Japanese neva neglected technology in the process of building a nation completely destroyed by war. Nigeria has shown no will to replicate the Japanese. Today where are we? Ordinary toothpick u have to import one. is that the way to go and become an economic giant? Let's make one thing clear. U will neva reach the promised land without showing massive interests in science and technology. That is where every visible human progress lies. I challenge anybody to hand over Ebonyi state to the likes of America or Germany and see what becomes of it in 20 years ahead. But with Governor Umahi and his ilks, Ebonyi state will rely on federal allocation in 200 years to come judging by his mindset. |

Sanchez01: Thought as much. So you'd expect me to wield a magic wand and expect that development happens out of the blue?
The transformation and growth of a state largely depends on the number of foreign investors attracted to the state and not in commissioning bridges and flyovers! What is wrong with you people? What measures are on ground to assure investors that there would be a short term ROIs?
I hear this Africa leaders, science and technology bullshit from you guys yet we struggle as a country to produce pencils! Pencils!!! Our toothpicks are still being imported and last I checked, there is no single toothpick producing company in the South East and you are day dreaming science and technology and harnessing the power of the cosmos.
The entire South East contribution is only 6%, beating the NE by just 2%. Where would the bulk of the state's government come from in a state as Enugu where civil servants constitute almost 85%? How then do you transform Ebonyi in eight years without accruing debts while maintaining the balance?
I used to think I suck at Economics but the bulk of you on here are just crass dull. ^^^^ Truly u suck @ economics no doubt. if I may ask, which foreign investor invested in Japan after world war 2? which foreign investor invested in South Korea after the Korean war? which foreign investor invested in Germany after world war 1 and 2? now its apparently obvious to any discernible mind u ain't different from the said governor and other blacks of ur kind, that u all think in one direction. keep waiting for investors before developing ur own technology and create needed wealth. |

The black man sure has a miserable nature. Hand over Ebonyi state to Germans or Americans even Koreans and see what becomes of it future.
The black man likes a feeding bottle system and would neva think out of the box to create wealth with his thinking cap on.
Ebonyi state is highly saturated with mineral resources and shud they be harnessed to the fullest, that state won't be seen on the radar of states begging for allocation. they are good @ farming especially rice production.
The problem with every black man on earth is his inability to think and this is why I fully support restructuring or outright disintegration cos if we dont depend on our mindsets to engage in productive ventures like Asians and Europeans do, we will keep looking for federal allocation to survive. |

This foolish man thinks everything is politics and the problem he sees in the Igbo people isnt present in others.
He talked about hate speeches. Where was the idiot when hate speeches flew like missiles in past administration? A sitting president was stoned and nobody was arrested cos maturity was @ play.
Same idiots who insulted Jonathan neva knew a time like this would come. Its tit for tat now nobody should complain.
Where was Joe the mumu when Enugu state was ransacked by Fulani terrorists? I neva read a word about him condemning such mindless attack but now he found his foolish voice.
Again those who aren't speaking up for the igbos like Joe when it matters shouldn't be seen attacking KANU cos they willingly handed him a position they shud have taken long ago.
as for playing politics the way Joe suggested, well he should vie for president as well and not sitting on the fence asking others to play politics. Nonsense |

shachris02: The truth must be said. Umunnem, if we divide today, we are the ones it would affect most.
The Average a.boki does not need the igbos. All the oil wells you've be bleating about are mostly owned by rich Fulani or very wealthy Hausa men. That wealth does not trickle down to the average Hausa Man. The average Hausa man does not get N1 from the oil wells in the North. The average Hausa man is a poor farmer. There's always a market for farm produce, whether Nigeria stays or divide.
Contrast this with the average igboman who is commercial focused. He needs a booming market to survive. That is why you find him everywhere there's a market. He thrives on enterprise to survive. He needs an active market and an active population.
Biafra, especially the one been preached by the albino fraud, would only make matters worse for us.

The flyover bridge is along Enugu-Onitsha express way 'Awka' and it developed cracks barely two years after construction.
Road users along this axis are warned to be careful. The state is trying to repair (Patch up) the cracks. Heavy duty vehicles are hereby pleaded with not to make use of the flyover bridge.
Can someone remember the alleged cost of these projects in Anambra state...??
The workers 'Patching' the bridge though ...
