Yeah, I'm using NgCom right now, And the speed has been great! I paid for the 45mbps plan and I've been really enjoying it.

georgee: Swift has unlimited and it's quite reliable. My only issue is the speed cap. https://www.swiftng.com/products/bundles 1 Like |

@QuoteJustOnce: Thanks for your response, Looks like they maybe decent enough to at least try. I was using Swift Wttx Radio, It was very good at my previous location. I got a constant speeds and barely any significant downtime, problem was that it was expensive with a monthly sub of almost 60K for just 30mbps. I actually had no issues with it except the high cost and the fact you couldn't upgrade to say 50mbps. The cap is actually 25mbps. But I got a small exception. What makes NGcom and FiberOne attractive (and fiber in general) is that they can give you 100mbps at affordable prices. but Air Fiber/Radio the limit is usually 20 - 30Mbps at higher monthly rates. 1 Like |

is anyone here using NGCOM - https://ngcomnetworks.com Any idea how good their service is? I met someone using it lately (Home Fiber Wired) and he said they're good. But I wouldn't mind hearing more opinions about their quality of service. Customer support, speed, and uptime reliability. My location is at Lekki, Orchid Road. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. one being NgCom (score: 3.3) and the other FiberOne (score: 3.2). Reviews on google for both services aren't very encouraging. 2 Likes |

Samuel2255: I didn't know that, interesting. But I have my personal details linked to the sim, NIN and all that. oh well. I'm talking with FiberOne, I've heard a lot of bad about them from a customer service perspective. But at this point I think these guys require patience to deal with. Cause the speeds I'm seeing are insane. |

I believe they throttled my bandwidth, But I don't know why they would do that. I haven't downloaded on this network since it's more of a backup to my main broadband. I checked and it hasn't expired, my data usage is under the monthly maximum on their website before you can expect throttling. So I have no idea why I can't even get 1mbps for days now. Can't even open web pages properly. I've always known MTN was useless anyway, I only bought as backup but it's even failing at that. |
Programming / Re: Apparently Technical Interviews Arent Your Only Stumbling Block by retiredGamer: 8:13pm On May 03, 2022 |
Software engineering interview process is absolutely broken, It's a matter of luck and completely dependent on the common sense of the interviewer. Non-technical people will have you jump these ridiculous hoops like behavioral interviews, while some technical fellows will go straight to asking engineering question but sometimes it's extremely relative to their own experience and habit. 4 Likes |

Is it possible to sell an MTN Hynet Router? Cause if not. I'm throwing it away. It's almost brand spanking new, I'll retain the sim but the router's gotta go. Useless network. I'm on 400kbps after paying for the unlimited subscription, can't even browse with it. If you're interested please let me know. At Lekki Phase 2. |

Thanks sensisosu, I found your post really informative, I just relocated to around Orchid road and will like to give FiberOne a try. When I saw your post it really informed my decision. I pay 57k a month for my Swift Wttx and was happy with the 30mbps plan they put me on. Now that I can go as high as 80 -100 on FiberOne, I'm going to try them out. Fingers crossed. By your explanation, worst case scenario I'll be back on 30 mbps 1 Like |

Ournolly: You're right, 8k is far from smooth depending on the length of the video, but 4k is easy on multiple devices. Although 8k on YouTube is highly optimized for streaming. |
Science/Technology / Re: My Hellish Experience: Swift Networks Wttx by retiredGamer: 7:36pm On Jan 25, 2022 |
Wow! I'm surprised cause Swift Customer Care is usually better than their peers, But I've had a few bad experiences too. But none rivals the frustration I went through with IPNX, after paying for their unlimited Fiber at my Ikeja GRA location close to their main office. Can you believe despite the close proximity, When the internet went down, (I made payment as a new subscriber including installation cost) They refused to either repair or refund my payment, Apparently the Fiber connection was cut due to ongoing construction somewhere, and the cost of repairing it for a sole tenant wasn't worth the expense. But they refused to refund my money, by avoiding me at all costs. At some point, I was calling every day and they would blatantly lie to me. The entire customer care and sales unit. After 4 months of calling and no refunds. I got NCC involved in the issue. Something must have happened behind the scenes because I started getting calls from higher-ups instead of customer service. About a week after getting regulators involved I got the refund. These days I use Swift Wttx, And It has its days, but it's mostly stable on my end. |

Server88: It depends on your service provider. I don't experience any throttling but my monthly sub is expensive but worth it for me. I think the price range for truly unlimited internet scares people away and the ones who offer cheap/affordable unlimited internet will throttle you. Seems I've used 400GB plus this month alone, I don't download anything, Just streaming 4k/8k movies/videos. You just have to make sure you get at least 20MBPS to really enjoy it. 2 Likes

purplekayc: This reminds me of when (2007/10) Xbox live was said to be only in South Africa as far as Africa was concerned and this was after a petition by South Africans to Microsoft. But when you actually tried connecting to Xb live gold in Naija it would work! xD

Crazy speeds, But it's still data capped I think? I wish I could find 100mbps unlimited at an affordable rate. I know folks in India who use 500mbps for 10 dollars a month. It's insane how much we pay for fast internet service here in Nigeria. |

I use unlimited 30mbps broadband from Swift here at Lekki, Subscription is over 50k a month. So its expensive. but you wouldn't need DSTV if u have this kinds of speeds. 1 Like
