Each school will advice you on how to send the letter of recommendation.

Yes you can use the same unofficial transcript, used same for my applications.

brainiac007:
Good day everyone.

I want to begin my application process to 3 universities.

1. Will my my referees, who happen to be my past lecturers, need to write 3 letters of recommendation each addressed to each university or is it that they will title it, TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN and I make copies for each university?

2. The school where I acquired my Bsc does not issue unofficial transcripts. Can I use the transcript I recieved months ago while trying to apply for another university as a unofficial transcript to all the schools I'm applying to pending when admission is granted as required by the schools?

Thanks in anticipation of your prompt response.

Not quite correct. I had a 2.2 GPA (3.25) Of the four schools i applied to for my MBA program 2 offered me immediate admission, UManitoba, that initially denied me based on my GPA, reconsidered and gave me admission after i pointed out that my last 2 years GPA met their requirements. So yes they may require 2:1, but the focus is the last 2 years grades.

Lemia:

Bro the conversion isn't exactly done like that.

These schools have what they call international degree equivalency. you'll have to check the particular degree requirements for students from Nigeria before can be sure what is required.

From my research, all the Canadian schools I've seen require minimum of a 2:1.

You do not need to make upfront payment for MUN MBA. You are expected to pay when you resume.
There is a minimum expense form at their website detailing fees to be paid and when, you can decide to pay in 6 or 9 installments.
Your GPA should be ok.
MUN offers no entry awards, but UNB offers 10,000 CAD based on your GMAT score (>=660)

Yes have accepted the MUN admission, just applied for my study permit.

odimbannamdi:

Did you honour the admission?
How did you make payments? Per semester?
I will research on the UNB.

I made the best grades in my final year. I think i made over 4.0. I pray they consider it.

I definitely will prepare soo hard for the GMAT. I intended taking the ITIL certification course, but now i will divert my resources and energy to the GMAT exam.

But, i am just wondering, are scholarships/fundings awarded based on stellar GMAT score? If yes, what score range would be categorized as such? Also, would a school like MUN award fundings based on that?

Thanks for your contribution and i look forward to your further answers

Got an MBA admission to MUN, they have the cheapest tuition fee, you can also check UNB St John.

On GMAT the fee is about $250 for the exam, you will definitely need some time to prepare for the exam if you are to do well (minimum of 2 months). You can register at mba.com, gmatclub.com is a good resource.

On CGPA, mine was 3.25, but the focus is on your last two years so if you have better grades in your last two years you are good to go.

odimbannamdi:
Hello guys,

i am gunning for an MBA degree in Memorial University Newfoundland (MUN) primarily because it has one of the cheapest tuition in Canada at 2k+ per semester and over 6k per session.

But i have some reservations tho:

How likely am i to get a job within or outside the campus to sustain me while i school?
Even though i already mapped out 4m for this project, working alongside wont be a bad idea

Also, in the fees brochure, they wrote that payment is made every semester. Does that mean i will pay for just one semester, and of course other fees and charges, befoe coming over?

One of their admission requirements is a GMAT score. How much would it cost me to write a GMAT exam now and how often is it written?

They requested for a minimum result of 2.75 on a 4 point scale. Converting it to 5 pointb scale is 3.43. i doubt my CGP is up to that. What will be my fate?

I will appreciate your experiences responses.

Thanks.

On point 2. There is actually a tab for SOP or LOE on the online application. It is listed as Client Information, if you click on the question mark by the side it tells you what the tabs are for.

Austinpee4:

1. The major difference between the online and paper route is CONVENIENCE. Both undergo same review and processing time. However, a thing or two to note in difference is the fact that an online application can be processed anywhere around the world where there is a Canadian visa office. Secondly, for voluminous documentation in support of an application, it is advisable to use the paper route as there is a limitation of 4mb(size) per tab for upload of documents using the online route. Also, you would get readily assistance from workers of VFS in arranging your documents.(The online is also straight forward if you can follow the instructions and guiding).

If you apply online, VFS comes in when you receive an instruction in your account to give your biometrics at the nearest VFS office. Also, VFS or the embassy would come in when your application has been approved and you have been instructed to submit your original passport.

2. There is no tab for SOP. The best way to attach it is to merge it with other documents say letter of acceptance and upload in the tab provided.

Medical test comes in either prior submitting your application or when you have been instructed by the visa office. If you intend to do it prior submitting(Upfront), you would visit the approved panel physician(Check IRCC's website for your location) and a test will be conducted. At the end of the test, a document will be handed over to you which contains your IME(Immigration medical examination) code that would be used by the visa office to locate your medical result on their database once the panel physician uploads it.

3. You cannot "package" her elder brother without him having intentions to actually sponsor her. There would be more than packaging on their end. He will have to show commitment other than stating his willingness to sponsor. Also, he will have to show sources and proof of his income claimed as well as how funds was accumulated. If he claims to be an employee, he would have to show evidence of being employed(payslips, employment letter, bank statement showing deposits of salary over a period of time, promotion letters etc). Note that these documents are important when proving employment. He must provide as much as he can to show genuineness of claim.

4. A letter from the bank showing she is an employee would suffice and possibly that they are aware of her trip. This is not the EE process where duties has to be specified.

Lastly and importantly, she must ensure and demonstrate that she intends to return upon completion of her study.

All the best to you two.

Regards.

I need help in making a choice on which of these 3 schools to do my MBA program in. Memorial University, University of Manitoba and University of Windsor. I have gotten admission to the first 2 (conditional from Manitoba - need to pay $1000 deposit), and awaiting response from Windsor. From my checks on the web the MBA from all 3 are ranked in the same category, so i can choose any based on standards. Cost wise Manitoba>Windsor>Memorial, with Windsor costing an additional 4M and Manitoba 8M approx compared to Memorial.

I am leaning towards Windsor based on the weather and location (would likely be coming with my family), though i am planning to pursue the study permit using the admission from Memorial. I want to get input from those who are on ground if there are other reason that should sway my choice towards Memorial or Manitoba. Your views are greatly appreciated.

Our Lord Jesus, told a story of what happens to a man whom evil spirit has been driven out in Mat 12:43, how the unclean spirit comes back to see the place vacant and gets 7 spirits more evil than him to occupy that man. This happened because the man the evil spirit met him empty.
A Christian is one who has accepted Jesus to come and live in him and be Lord over his life. He is not empty, so an evil spirit cannot come and dwell in him or oppress him in anyway, because Jesus who is stronger dwells in him(the christian). He is not a christian just because he attends church.
Many people in Nigeria are being deceived by so-called deliverance preachers, because the have not truly received the gospel that saves. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Christians do not need deliverance, they need to be taught the word of God. That is what Paul did when he noticed unwholesome attitude in the Corinthians and Galatians, he did not organise deliverance sessions for them

Lest We Immortalize Nuisance…The “Goldie” Situation By Eseoghene Al-Faruq Ohwojeheri
Posted: February 18, 2013 - 19:36
By Eseoghene Al-Faruq Ohwojeheri
About ten years ago I lost a friend in an armed robbery incident. Obviously the armed robbers were not satisfied with robbing they needed to make a point by harming someone in the house and my friend’s mother was their target. As they swung the axe my friend who was the scholar of our class in secondary school protected his mother with his head….he died; no national award, no postmortem speech from the Governor and of course no celebrity burial; he was just another guy, the fact that he took a battle axe to his head for his mother was irrelevant

This and many more of it happens in a country wherein people get millions both in local and foreign currency for playing football; a country wherein comedians shake hands with the President and women who kiss strange men on camera in the name of acting take home National Award and an immoral youth who made fame singing about his private part is given special opportunity to interview the President in a desperate campaign strategy because the thinking is that the community is populated by zombies and bimbos who will vote in a PHD holder on the “honour” of a nuisance whose only relevance to society, apart from lewd music, is competition in air and space. Thus the question every sane Nigerian should be asking is when will this madness of underserved honour stop?

The death of the musician from Ekiti, Goldie Harvey, and the attempt to make it seem like we lost an icon is another and perhaps the worst of all these madness. I do not believe that death, which we will all face, should make you a hero except you died an honourable death. When people just drop dead we grieve and console the family not tell blatant lies as to who they were. This is why the statement of the Ekiti State Governor is worrisome. Mr. Kayode Fayemi is reported to have described Goldie as a “great daughter of Ekiti State” and one has to wonder upon what was this greatness achieved? Are people now great for singing meaningless songs with promiscuous suggestions or for taking and publishing suggestive photos of themselves?

Since when did we consider it greatness to appeal to the sexual cravings of perverts and run after men on camera in the name of a reality show that is far from reality? Since when did it become great achievement that a lady is even thought of as being a junkie in her life time? How can this be great?

In the past fathers will tell their children “don’t bring shame to this family” but nowadays shame and shamelessness is celebrated with such noise that you think the Devil himself is in charge of people’s life and even he has gone crazy.

Ironically, around the same period this unfortunate death occurred Governor Theodora Orji of Abia State was commending Mrs. Nwanyieze Prosper for winning the Purity Queen title for a lady who kept her virginity until her marriage; surprisingly some Nigerians criticized the Governor and even ‘accused’ him of giving her a car whereas Governor Kayode Fayemi was praised for describing Goldie as a “bright star” among other accolades including that she lived a “fulfilled life”. Indeed the world is upside down.

The problem with giving honour to people who did dishonourable acts is that people will definitely emulate them. The Dolly Parton’s of this world made it a fashion for women to expose their cleavage; years on women have lost their husbands to such exposure and homes have collapsed; the Dr. Dre’s of this world made being “gangster” a fashionable thing and years later the gangsters are increasing and we even have a gangster in the White House killing innocent people with Drones….Martin Luther’s dreams became a Nightmare. And this list goes on and on; for every irresponsible person you honour you make irresponsibility the “swag”, the same way for every man who dies for his mother you honour you make standing up against oppression and protecting the weak the in-thing….make your choice.

Lastly, we must clarify two issues. The first one is with regards to speaking “evil” about the dead while the second one is the “who are you to Judge” comedy.

Firstly, the dead has already met what he or she put forward hence there is no need to speak of its evil. What there is need to do however is to either call the living to an example to live by if the dead is worthy of emulation or to warn the living to stay away from a wasteful lifestyle like that of the dead who lived life as if death was never going to come and this is the real lesson here; life is short, if you live it like Goldie your death may come and meet you in that state; what will you tell your Creator? We cannot pretend this is not the lesson here; it will be one lie too many

Secondly, they ask us not to Judge and we say to them since we are in the spirit of not judging kindly don’t judge the location of your mouth so that you put your food in your nose. We say to them that in this spirit of not judging please cross the road without judging that a vehicle is close enough to knock you down; maybe when you are in the air you will realise your stupidity.

We do not Judge a person who has Faith that he or she will be in the hellfire, we do not Judge that the person’s bad is more than his/her good, we do not Judge if God will forgive a believer…..but we Judge that fornication and the promotion of it is EVIL, and that the one who represented evil dead does not make evil good.

Some others will say an adult can do what he or she likes and you don’t have to force your life on others. The question we have for this set of confused mentally colonized perverts is that this same justification is given to homosexuality and it will soon be given to incest so that if a grown up man and his grown up daughter say they fell in love and want to marry your kind will say well it’s their life, it does not affect me….can you see now that you are sick?

Conclusively, the lessons from this unfortunate incident can be summarized as thus;

1) Death can come at any time; be prepared to meet your Lord.

2) Fame and fortunes are but illusions, what matters is your relationship with your Creator.

3) The enjoyment of this world is fleeting; don’t let it deceive you.

4) Live a good life; one that does not involve promoting lewdness or any type of evil; death and Judgment is real and it is no respecter of status.

5) It was the honour given her musical mentors that led the lady to not just music but a meaningless form upon which her life ended so let’s ensure that we do not turn scum into icons because people will sure emulate them.
May God Almighty give the family fortitude to bear the lost and guide them aright.

@goshen

Thanks for resurrecting this. Though for me we could have started with other books with less potential for arguments till we have gathered up steam.

On the matter of whether we are still under the law or not the ff passages(Gal 3:10 - 14) make it clear that a man is under a curse if he does not continue to do all that is written in the law. But that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law having been made a curse for us. He actually likened the law to a school master that brings us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. So then we who are led by faith are not under the law and , against such there is no law. Gal 5: 18,23b.
Will still come back to our focus verse.

I will want us to share in this thread the christian book that has helped us in our walk with Christ, the author and how one can get it to read if he so desires.

For No 1 that comes to mind is Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan.

It sets out the walk of a believer on earth in form of the story of a man.
It is a good book for one to read when he gives his life to Christ and even after that. Gives you a good perspective of what you can expect in the Christian life and dangers to avoid.

It is available for download on the web from various sites

Religion / Re: What Exactly Is The True Gospel ? by reveal: 9:22pm On Mar 01, 2012
What exactly is the true gospel? We have been called as believers to spread this, if we do not know what it is ourselves then we will be spreading something else that is not the Gospel.
The gospel translates in greek to good news/message.
What makes news good to the hearer,
• if I am very thirsty in a place without water and hear that someone is bringing water that for me is good news
• If I am in a sinking ship at the middle of the sea and hear that help is coming, that for me is god news.
So what is the good news that our Lord Jesus brought to us?
To understand this we need to see man’s situation from God view point. For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Rom 3:23 see also Eph 2: 1-4.
Before God every man who is born into this world is a sinner and the wages of sin is death, so every man is dead in sin, lost, blind, an alien to God and His Kingdom and under the control of the kingdom of darkness. This is the state of all men born of woman with the nature of Adam.
God in His mercy, in order to deliver man from this state gave us a gift His Son Jesus that whoever believes in Him out of the race of men will not perish (continue in the state above) but have eternal life (the life of Christ) Jn 3: 16, 17 and that whoever receives Him has been given power to become the son of God. Jn 1:12, 13.
So in a nutshell the gospel is that men are dead in sin, lost, blind and alienated from God, but God has made a provision for every man who realizes his true state to repent(turn from the path he was going on) and receive a brand new life in His Son Jesus. It is going from death to life, from darkness to light, from bondage to freedom. Mat 11:28; Jn 7:37. That is the good news.

Paul met believers in Galatia and Corinthians who were not consistent or had some secret sin in them. I do not read in theBible that he organised deliverance seessions for them.
Rather what i see him and other apostles do is to through thier letters point out how Christ has liberated them and how they are now to live based on what Christ has done.
Discipleship(Teaching and nurturing) belivers is the only answer given to us, but in these days of fast-food nobody wants to spend the time to do this. And we are worse off for that.

You all found one reason or the other to shoot it down.I have seen posts on this forum on several other topics that people spend time to reserach and then make contributions, why can we not do the same for the word of God.
I will suggest something is started either a book by book study or by topics.

@goshen360
Your statement may lead people to believe that they do not need to read the old testament, which the examples of the apostles or Christ do not teach us. The whole of the Bible points a man to Jesus Christ, while the testaments points to the agreements God made with men (one through Moses and the law, the other a promise given to Abraham and fulfilled in our Lord Jesus) See Heb 8 and Gal 3

The poster requested for responses from belivers, we should expect that our responses should be based on the Bible so that those reading may be thought true and correct doctrine, those who are rude and uncouth will be reproved, those who are walking in the path of error will be corrected and we all will be instructed in the way of righteousness.
