European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Jose Mourinho Is Now 'The Happy One' by Revsola: 4:53am On Jun 11, 2013
Check Out This Brief Biography Of The Special One!
After serving as assistant coach for some years,Mourinho was in Porto early 2002 as head coach, winning the Primeira Liga, Taça de Portugal, and UEFA Cup in 2003. In the next season Mourinho guided the team to victory in the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira, to the top of the league for a second time, and won the highest honour in European club football, the UEFA Champions League. Mourinho moved to Chelsea the following year and won the Premier League title with a record 95 points, the club's first league title in 50 years, and the League Cup in his first season. In his second year Chelsea retained the Premier League and in 2006–07 he took the club to an FA Cup and League Cup double, though they finished as league runners-up. He often courted controversy for his outspokenness, but his victories at Chelsea and Porto established him as one of the world's top football managers. Mourinho left Chelsea in September 2007, amidst reports of a rift with club owner Roman Abramovich.

In 2008 Mourinho signed a three-year contract with Serie A club Internazionale. Within three months he had won his first Italian honour, the Supercoppa Italiana, and completed the season by winning the Serie A title. In 2009–10 Inter became the first Italian club to win the treble of Serie A, Coppa Italia and the UEFA Champions League, also the first time Inter had won the latter competition since 1965. In doing so, Mourinho became the third manager in football history to win the UEFA Champions League with two different teams, after Ernst Happel and Ottmar Hitzfeld. He won the first ever FIFA Ballon d'Or Best Coach Award in 2010. He then signed with Real Madrid in 2010, winning the Copa del Rey in his first season. The following year he won the La Liga and became the fourth coach, after Tomislav Ivić, Ernst Happel, and Giovanni Trapattoni, to have won league titles in at least four different countries: Portugal, England, Italy, and Spain. Mourinho is the first manager to win the traditional top three European league championships, the first manager to win every domestic trophy (the league championship, cup, super cup, and league cup (if available) in four European leagues, and the first to guide four different clubs to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League

Sports / Re: Keshi Loves Possession Football - Mikel by Revsola: 2:49pm On Jun 10, 2013
san001: This Mikel dude should be shameful of calling himself an integral part of the AFC squad when he couldn't score a single goal out of the whole tournament. I can't even recall when last he ever scored a single goal playing in midfield role, but not even as a defender. Imagine if 9ja do not have Sunday Uba...

I don't think you are right. If everyone is rushing out to go and score who will manage the middle of the pack and send killer passes.I am not excusing Mikel for not scoring...but that does not call for outright condemnation of the guy.He knows how to cool the ball...ease tension...hold the ball and prevent opponents from taking immediate possession...and provide ample time for team-mates to reposition themselves!

Politics / Ekiti State Governorship Election Palava: Segun Oni Looses Again! by Revsola: 2:51pm On May 31, 2013
A five-man panel of the Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal instituted by former governor of Ekiti state, Mr Segun Oni of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which sought to upturn the Court of Appeal’s decision that sacked him from Ekiti state government house.
The former governor had hoped to cash in on the judicial crisis that rocked the nation’s judiciary when Justice Ayo Isa-Salami was forcefully suspended from office by appealing to the Supreme Court alleging likelihood of bias in his defeat at the Ekiti election appeal.
Mr Oni in his suit relied on Section 36 of the Constitution which guarantees right to fair hearing and had asked the Apex court to revisit the judgment of the Court of Appeal which removed him from office.
However counsel to Governor Kayode Fayemi relying on Section 246 (3) opposed the appeal and contended that as at the time the governorship election was conducted in 2007, that the Court of Appeal was the final court to determine governorship election matters.
In an unanimous decision, the Supreme Court agreed with Mr Fayemi and held that attempt by Oni to lure the apex court to exercise its authority by meddling into an appeal already determined by the Court of Appeal which is the final court over the governorship election matters, is an attempt to get back into Ekiti state government house.
In the decision read by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, the court declined Oni’s invitation to interfere in an appeal that had been adequately determined and settled by a competent court which had the final say on such elections as at the time the election was conducted.
The court subsequently dismissed Oni’s appeal and insisted that his appeal has nothing to do with Section 36 of the constitution, especially in view of the provision of Section 246(3) of the same constitution.

Frivolous Appeal
In his reaction to the judgment, Mr Fayemi said he is not surprised with the ruling of the court as it has continued to remain the saving grace of Nigeria’s democracy.
According to him the matter ought not to have gone to Supreme Court in the first place as it has no place in the country’s jurisprudence.
He however called for the establishment of Election Offences Commission noting that if the former governor had been prosecuted for committing electoral fraud in the state, he would not have had the opportunity to approach the apex court with what he called a frivolous appeal with the purpose of distracting the government of Ekiti state and a waste of the time of the court.

It is not bad to ride good cars.If footballers buy private jets, musicians ride expensive cars, politicians own properties worth billions...i don't see any reason why pastors/pastors' wives should not own jets/limo...or what have you.
These people have laboured...they move around a lot...they have personally raised a lot of millionaires (through their teachings and prayers) who say YES SIR to them...what else do you expect.
Look,if you are a good son...even if your dad is poor, cant you buy expensive rides for him and even help him to maintain it...especially if YOU can afford it? Friends, stop all these criticism and face your life.
Apart Im sure some of you have given personal gift of say beverages, shirts, shoes, cash to your pastor before! Now if God should promote you...wont you give him something better?
I personally know some peolpe who cannot stand to see their pastors push his car all day while they are riding the latest jeep...pls lets think deep before we post comments.

Sacrifice? Let Jonathan himself cut his allowance, not salary by 50% and let all others in position of political authority do the same. Then let everyone fuel their cars from their salaries, then we can begin to talk
Politics / Re: Jonathan Borrows 1billion Naira Monthly: El Rufai by Revsola: 6:36pm On Jan 09, 2012
FACTS DON'T LIE,WE DON'T HAVE A PRESIDENT, NOT YET
CHECK THESE OUT

From Twitter

Nasir El-Rufai - Those giving economic arguments for or against fuel subsidy withdrawal miss the point totally. It is not about economics. It is about TRUST!
Nasir El-Rufai - No Nigerian trusts GEJ’s administration to use any money for the benefit of the people. Funds are for pocketing by govt officials & friends!
Nasir El-Rufai  - The spending pattern & priorities of GEJ since 2010 is evidence of who he cares for and what. Let us look at his budget record from 2010….
Nasir El-Rufai - Between 2010-2011, GEJ has spent N9.557 trillion. N4,427bn in 2010 budget, N645bn supplementary in 2010, N4,485bn in 2011. The results? ZERO
Nasir El-Rufai - Under his watch, we increased our debt stock by about $20bn, ran down excess crude from $6bn to zero, FX reserves from $45bn to $ 30bn…
Nasir El-Rufai - Under GEJ, Dollar exchange rate moved from >N140 to N160 today. Debt stock has doubled to higher than 2005 levels. Interest rates over 20%!
Nasir El-Rufai - And all this is while nearly 10 trillion Naira has been spent on government officials, trips abroad & perquisites/subsidies to politicians!
Nasir El-Rufai - Power supply improvement? Minimal. Jobs created? Zero. Transport Infrastructure? Zero. Agricultural output? Minimal. Private jets? Yes, lots
Nasir El-Rufai - Let us look at the 2012 Budget proposals in some details to see whether GEJ is willing to reduce the high lifestyle of those in power…,
Nasir El-Rufai - We will look at the budgets proposed for three Presidency MDAs – the State House where P & VP work, the Offices of the SGF & Head of Service
Nasir El-Rufai –  The three MDAs intend to spend a total of N27bn as “overheads” for 2012. Nearly N2 bn will be spent traveling with N1.675bn in GEJ’s office!
Nasir El-Rufai - Stationery, refreshment & snacks in the Presidency will consume about N2bn, with N1.6bn spent by GEJ & his VP in 2012. Does that make sense?
Nasir El-Rufai - The President & VP intend to spent about N2.8bn to “maintain” their existing furniture, generators, etc, & N238m for fuel! Is this prudent?
Nasir El-Rufai - Miscellaneous spending by the Villa alone totals N1.7bn for food, honorarium & something called “welfare packages” – another security vote!
Nasir El-Rufai - The SGF & Head of Service have over N2.5bn for these “miscellaneous expenses” including nearly N300m for “welfare” & N270m “security vote”!
Nasir El-Rufai - Why can’t some of these areas of waste be cut to fund capital projects & others that benefit the populace like the fuel subsidy?
Nasir El-Rufai - In the 2012 budget, NASS intends to spend N150bn on itself, the same amount as in 2011 to pay those huge allowances. It has NOT been reduced
Nasir El-Rufai - So we will spend about N320m for every NASS member in 2012, as we did in 2011. Where is the shared sacrifice? Where is accountability?
Nasir El-Rufai - In 2012, FG will spend an average of N2.47m on every federal employee. It spent about N3.2 m on every ex-militant in 2011. What about us?
Nasir El-Rufai - We must resist the N8,000 tax being imposed on every man, woman & child to fund the fuel subsidy & insist that FG cuts its own wastefulness!
Nasir El-Rufai - I will tweet further details of the budget in due course….we must sensitize our NASS members to rise to the occasion & rewrite this budget
Nasir El-Rufai - The issue with GEJ is simply that of trust. He has wasted huge financial resources & put us in debt in the last 20 months. We must be wary!
Nasir El-Rufai - We cannot trust with more money as he will only waste more of it. That is the issue & he can only earn that trust through small steps.

Politics / Reasons Why You Must Protest by Revsola: 11:22am On Jan 07, 2012
I CAME ACROSS THIS DOCUMENT IN A BLOG, Nigerians,we surely need prayers

"Many of you are asking yourselves why you need to get out of your comfort zone and into the streets to protest about the withdrawal of fuel subsidy. The government’s argument is that if we do not stop funding fuel subsidy, the economy will crash and we all will go down with it. But are there no other places to reduce spending to save money? Let us take a few moments and consider these points:

    1. David Mark earns N600 million annually, enough money to set up at least, 100 schools in his Benue State
    2. President Jonathan and his friends will eat N1 billion worth of food in 2012, while fuelling their cars for N1.7 billion.
This amount will build at  least, 50 good health care centres in the South-South
3.N200 million was budgeted to water the gardens of the President in 2011. This is enough to educate 200 Nigerians through university education

This is more than a quest for economic rights, it a quest for justice. This is not about fuel subsidy, it is about the ruling class’ war on the Nigerian masses. They cannot claim our country is broke when president Goodluck Jonathan continues to feed fat on N3 million worth of food everyday. They cannot claim to be broke when they increased the recurrent expenditure of the 2012 budget by another N92 billion. They cannot claim to be broke when the First Lady just spent N5billion furnishing an office. They cannot claim to be broke when in the whole budget is about their salaries and allowances.

BOTTOM LINE: Government seeks to impoverish us the more by removing fuel subsidy while they continue to waste money on their friends and families!

ACTION PLAN: We will have PEACEFUL PROTESTS in all the 36 states + FCT from Friday 6th of January 2012 at 10am. We do not condone violence so why not Join US and also spread the message to everyone around you. WE shall prevent people from going to work and helping the government inprison us in poverty while the ‘leaders’ buy mansions and travel all over the world."
