The House on the Rock has concluded plans to hold this year’s annual gospel concert, The Experience, on December 1, 2017, with international and local gospel artistes lined up to thrill Nigerians. Speaking on the planned concert, its convener and Senior Pastor of House on the Rock, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, said the forum would be a platform for Christians regardless of creed, doctrine or ethnicity to offer prayers for Nigeria. He said: ‘’The Experience is a focal gathering point for the Christian community and its many constituencies from across Nigeria, Africa and indeed the world. It features the very best of indigenous and international artists leading hundreds of thousands of people in worship and praise to our king and also provides an uncommon opportunity for all Christians regardless of creed, doctrine or ethnicity to offer prayers for our nation. ‘’This year’s edition promises to be no less exciting as Don Moen, Donnie McClurkin, Travis Greene, Tope Alabi , Chevelle Franklyn, Chioma Jesus, Sonnie Badu, Onos, Micah Stampley, Tim Godfrey, Midnight Crew, Frank Edwards, Eben, BeeJay Sax, Nathaniel Bassey and The Lagos Metropolitan Gospel Choir take centre stage and minister worship and praises to Jesus our king. smilingface:you need to understand the caps process. ideally, jamb ought to authenticate and assent any candidate admission before its finally endorsed by the university. its unfortunate that some institutions released the list they already forwarded to jamb for processing even while jamb was still perusing the said list |

GOVERNING council of the University of Benin has commended authorities of the university for the ongoing capital projects embarked upon by the institution. Investigations by Vanguard indicated that most of the projects were being undertaken by the NEEDS assessment and TETFUND and they spread across sites A and B in Ugbowo and Ekehuan campuses of the university. It would be recalled that Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the University, Mr. Isah Ashiru and the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, recently led principal staff of the institution on a guided tour of the various facilities. Addressing journalists at the end of the exercise, the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, who was represented by a Deputy Director, Federal Ministry of Education, Mrs. Charity Orgar, said: “On the whole, the University of Benin is doing very well. We have seen good work here. We have also seen work that is ongoing. Together, we have comments and observations and we hope that with appropriate amendment, things will get better. “I have seen wonderful projects here compared to other institutions that I have visited in Nigeria and I have given him, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, necessary advice to make everything get better.” Also speaking, the Pro- Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University, Mr. Isah Ashiru expressed satisfaction with the level of work done by most of the contractors, but warned that any project that does not comply with project specification will be revoked. |

THE authorities of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH, yesterday, said that a suspected Monkey Pox patient has been admitted in the hospital. It said, however, that samples have been taken for test and result is being awaited from the designated World Health Organization (WHO) accredited test centre. It would be recalled that the authorities of the hospital, led by the Chief Medical Director, CMD, Prof. Darlinton Obaseki, had equipped an isolated complex designed to give emergency treatment to patients having Monkey Pox. Monkey-pox disease However, in a statement, the Head, Public Relations, of the hospital, Mr Uwaila Joshua, who confirmed the admission of the Monkey Pox patient in the hospital, said the patient is responding to treatment and is undergoing further evaluations. According to the statement: ¨The good news is that the patient is recovering very fast and we presently do not have any reason to worry . ¨UBTH, in conjunction with the relevant agencies, the state government and local government health authorities, are working together and monitoring close contacts of this person and so far, no one has come down with the sickness. ¨There is no need or cause for concern or worry and no danger posed to staff or patients of the hospital. The patient is in an isolated complex. The hospital is ready and prepared to contain any situation if there is need to. As at now, there is no cause for alarm.¨ Source: Vanguard Newspaper |

Ojehanon( Deputy Provost), Prof .M.Momoh (Dean ,school of medicine), Prof .O.N. Obuekwe ( Dean,school of Dentistry), Prof .H.A. Oboh (Dean,school of Basic Medical Science), Dr D.U. Nwaneri ( Director Institute Of Child Health ) The chairman, prof. E.P iribhogbe in his address welcome all to university of Benin as a great citadel of learning , on behalf of the council and senate he congratulate the 33 medical and 5 dental Doctor s which is the second to be conducted this year. The university of Benin is one of the most sought after universities and has earned the name unibest because of its antecedent .He commended the effort of the staff of medical science for a great job done. After which the inductee were commended and were certified for the profession and remained to remain humble and keep a good integrity The physician oath was taken by the inductee as they exercise their several parts of their profession to the best of their knowledge and ability for the good , safety and welfare of all person committing themselves to the care and attention and faithfully obey the rule and regulation of the medical and dental council of Nigeria and all other laws made for the control of the medical or dental profession in Nigeria .
