The University of Benin (UNIBEN) Admission Screening Exercise for 2017/2018 Academic Session; to be conducted by UNIBEN CONSULT NIGERIA LIMITED, is rescheduled to take place between 28th September 2017 and 10th October 2017 in designated centres within the Ugbowo Campus of the University.
The Screening Exercise shall be conducted using the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. All candidates are expected to be seated, latest one hour before the stipulated time for their screening exercise

The University of Benin,UNIBEN, has on Friday 15th September, extended the deadline for 2017 PUTME registration. This information was disclosed on the school portal and the new deadline is Tuesday 19th September 2017.

This is to inform the public that the UNIVERSITY OF BENIN POST UTME examination earlier scheduled for 14th - 25th September have been postponed indefinitely. A new date will be announced later.

We regret any inconveniences caused by this. Candidates that have registered should do well to visit the University website www.uniben.edu daily for information.

THE Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, will again meet today in a bid to resolve the ongoing strike embarked upon by the university teachers two weeks ago.
Expected at the meeting called by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, are the Ministers of Education and Finance, Mallam Adamu Adamu and Mrs. Kemi Adeosun respectively, Chairman, National Income Salaries and Wages Commission, Executive Secretary National Universities Commission and the President of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Ayuba Wabba.
A statement signed by Samuel Olowookere, Deputy Director, Press in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, yesterday, in Abuja read: “In furtherance of efforts at resolving the lingering industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Sen. Chris Ngige, will tomorrow (today) by noon meet with the President and Executive of ASUU.
“Government delegation at the meeting will include Minister of Education, Minister of Finance, Chairman National Income Salaries and Wages Commission, Executive Secretary National Universities Commission and the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.
“The minister recalled that ASUU had earlier promised during the last meeting held on Thursday, August 17, 2017, to take the offer of the Federal Government back to its members and get back to the Federal Government within a week.
“Senator Chris Ngige calls on ASUU to show good faith as the Federal Government had already demonstrated commitment to addressing the grievances of the Union.”
When Vanguard contacted the National President of ASUU, Prof. Abiodun Ogunyemi, on his phone, yesterday, on the position of the strike, he simply said that the union was still consulting and that whatever was the outcome of the consultation would be made available to the public.

Fraudsters and scammers are increasing in their numbers especially now that most Tertiary institutions are preparing for their admission screening exercise. Some come with a good intention of wanting to help aspirants gain admission into reputable universities in Nigeria. I can confidently say without any atom apology that they are wolves in sheep clothing. I have had dealings with majority of them and I can tell you visible signs on how to identify them.

1. They don’t use their pictures as their profile pix. They prefer to use group or inanimate pictures.

2. They avoid live contact with a gullible aspirants. They will never agree to meet you in person.

3. They will say they are staff or affiliated with many universities. My brother, can a person work in more than one federal tertiary institution at the same time? I leave that question to your reasoning faculty.

4. They are very clueless on how the institution run their admission processes. Ask them what is the meaning of *UAB* or what is the admission quota aloted to that institution for admission? My dear,you have just asked a JAMB question because bros who promise you help don’t even have the slightest idea.

5. They will try to convince you that they are legit;no scam,no fraud,no stress and 100% guaranteed. My dearly beloved, run for your life because I won’t try to convince you that a white shirt is white. Its only when there is a thread of doubt as to the the colour, that’s when *preaching* becomes necessary.

6. They become desperate if you refuse to contact them after the first contact. When someone who is supposed to be a *helper* is now desperate to help, my brethren in Christ, start sniffing to smell a rat. Its those who need help that ought to be desperate and not the other way round.

7. They are money minded. This is the most striking attribute of fraudsters and scammers. They are focused on defrauding gullible aspirants who fall prey to their scheme and tactics. When they start mentioning money, fellow Nigeria, take to your heels.
